Good Evening,
On behalf of the Severn Town Club, I would like to welcome you to
our 53rd Annual Holly Ball.
Hard to believe that an idea imagined by a small group of women
many years ago would grow into such a large endeavor. They wanted
to contribute to the welfare of the community and tonight we are
proud to continue to make their dream a reality. The major recipient
for this year’s funds is Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts. Maryland
Hall is best known for its performances, exhibitions, and educational
art classes, but they also provide outreach programs that are
accessible for all members of the community regardless of their
financial circumstances.
A gala such as this would not be possible without the generous
support of our donors, sponsors, businesses who take out the ads in
the program and people and businesses who contribute to the silent
and live auction items. We thank you all.
This year's Holly Ball Chairman, Sheryn Blocher and her committee
building on their experience last year, with extremely hard work and
many hours have produced this evening. The entire Severn Town
Club membership came together to ensure that.
This evening, we especially remember a wonderful, successful lady
who was very active, ardently supported the club and greatly enjoyed
the Holly Ball. She passed away in October, but her spirit lives on.
Anne Mercer, you are here in spirit and in our hearts.
Another wonderful woman who could not be here this evening is our
immediate past President, Grete Unhejm. She was an inspiring force
in the Club and deeply loved the Holly Ball. Grete is also here in
spirit and we strive to continue to make her proud.
Thank you for coming and enjoy the evening.
Warm Regards,
Janet S Morgan, President
Dedicated to providing “art for all,” Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts is our community’s arts center, providing lifelong
opportunities in the arts for all ages.
Serving over 100,000 people each year, Maryland Hall was founded in 1979 by a group of artistic visionaries who believed the former
Annapolis High School could best be re-used as a community arts center. Today, our historic building is the community’s gathering place for the arts. Through year-round classes, performances, exhibits, tours,
workshops and outreach activities, people of all ages discover the trans-formative power of the arts. Each day, Maryland Hall nurtures inspiration, cultivates creativity and fosters the imaginations of the children, families,
students and adults who come through our doors. www.marylandhall.org
Thank YouOn behalf of the Maryland Hall Board and Staff, I want to thank the generous and hard-working women of the Severn Town Club for their tireless work on behalf our community. We are exceedingly grateful to be the beneficiary of the proceeds from the Holly Ball this year.
With your gift, Maryland Hall will be able to increase outreach and education activities that touch the lives of thousands of students each year. Children from local schools will be able to experience live performances on our stage through class trips; at-risk students will expand their talents in music and art through after school programs; and children of all ages will expand their creativity and improve their problem solving skills through our arts classes and workshops. The arts
change lives!
Your contribution will ensure families and children in our community have artistic experiences they will remember for years to come. Thank you for all your efforts to improve our community.
Sincerely,Linnell BowenPresident, Maryland Hall
