The "Bradley Boilermakers," a h ighly regarded team before the season started, began rcgulnr p lay by dropping the opener ro Central, to the tune of 36·39. Things began to look better when we took Cal City, 46-38; Momence. 64-29; St. Anne, 49-34; and St. Pat"~~ '17· 37 in our stridr, but this t'nd<•d when we mtt Thornlon of Harv(_·y, who humbled us 52·32. When we met Kankakee, we again lost, 37·38, but we looked like the Bradley reams of old and (inished fighting hord.
We beat Crete. 72-61 , and rook a ret"ord of five wins and tl>rcc losses to the Kankakee Christmas tourney, where we were defeated by East Peoria, 61·63, and then by Hall of Spring Valley, 35-46.
\VIe again beat Crete, 74-S6 and then Gilman, 68·45. This marked the beginning of the K.V.C. to,Jtnamenr.
In our inil i~l performance, we ddeated Peotone, 58·49, bu' in the secor'ld game, bad luck stru<'k again: St. Pars defc-aied us in overtime, 55-57.
Aft~r the tou rnament we defeated Mooseheart '54-43, and St. A nne 67-59, but then fell to Peotone, 48·50. \VIe overcame Lindbloom in 0\'Cttimc, 69·67, and sought revenge on St. Pats, 67-50, and then sca lped Momence, 58-29. 11le Boilermakers t raveled to Blue Island and were dcf<ated, ~1-~5. We se1tled scores with Central by rap ping them 51·33, and we won the K.V,C. conference lirle b)r bearing Gil· mon, 72-67. \VIe defeated Watseka, <10·51, for t he last game of the regular S<:a)()n, with l record of sixteen wins and eight losscs--3 GOOD season.
