This symposium will explore insights, tools and tips for delivering a patient-centered approach in the provision of removable dentures- from clinical excellence to enhanced patient experience and improved health outcomes beyond the clinic.

Understanding and managing patients needs, wants and expectations when they experience tooth loss.

Living with removable dentures: patient experiences beyond the clinic.

Importance of informed patient choice, patient-clinician interactions and appropriate, bespoke patient advice.

DR SAMANTHA RAWDINDr Rawdin is a specialist Prosthodontist in private practice in New York City. She has a Fellowship in implantology from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine and received her doctorate from Midwestern University in Arizona. She is a fellow of the Greater New York Academy of Prosthodontics, serves as the co-chair of the PR committee for the American College of Prosthodontics and serves on the board of the NGS Academy of Multidisciplinary Dentistry.

PROFESSOR BARRY GIBSONProfessor Gibson is Professor in Medical Sociology at University of Sheffield School of Clinical Dentistry, and 3 times winner of the IADR Giddon Award for Distinguished Research in Behavioural Sciences. He is an Executive Member of the Behavioural, Epidemiological, and Health Services Research Group of the IADR and a founding member of the Coalition for Grounded Theory and the Critical Public Health Network.

DR ANOUSHEH ALAVI Dr Alavi is Medical Affairs director in Oral Health at GSK Consumer Health. She is a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh and past winner of the HB Murray memorial prize of the British Society of Periodontology. She is also visiting Lecturer at Centre for Host-Microbiome Interactions at Faculty of Dentistry, King’s College London and is honorary treasurer of British division of IADR.
