Happy Easter!
The winter has gone by so fast that it is hard
to believe we are in March.
Welcome Back Everyone!
If you have not had a chance
to meet Nina and Danny our
new Administrative Assistant
Nina or our Maintenance man
Danny that please take a mo-
ment and stop by to say hello and introduce
yourselves.
I always seem to begin each month with
heartache over residents who have passed
and losses of loved ones you have shared
with each other. My heart aches for all of
you….. Residents who will always be re-
membered. As the story goes Nina
and I have been stuck in Golf Cart mayhem.
I realize that March is here and you guys
have not had your 360 inspection which you
look forward to every year. If we do not get
a new golf cart within the next week and a
half then we will be out there in our cars I
guess. I know we need to make this happen
and it is as important to us as it is to you.
But you know what you need to do. This is
not your first rodeo. It is important for all of
us that we take this opportunity to clean up
our outside and remove all the items that
are not considered or approved for outside.
So heads up! I am bringing in a dumpster
the first week of March for the month of
March and it will be the large one. I urge
you, I beg you! I cannot continue ( And will
not be allowed to continue ) to bring a
dumpster in if we abuse it with large items
that carry a lot of weight. NO Friges, NO
stoves, NO grills etc. Please try to put the
smaller items and lawn and tree trimmings
in first and then let’s see if we have room
for any larger items. I can tell you NO
TIRES! I am saying this because we do have
residents that seem to feel that it is an easy
way to get rid of tires that you don’t have
to pay for. But Waste Solutions will not al-
low tires! Come see me or Nina if you have
a heavy item that you need to get rid of.
Please!
We are in the process of getting the storage
compound back in order. I will be asking
residents who have items in storage in or-
der to improve better placement of the
items. Please work with me on this. It has
only taken me 7 years of continuing to find
a way of offering better service to our resi-
dents and make it easier for Nina and I to
assign spaces. I will be letting you know
soon and once I get a solid plan on paper
we will be asking for you to come in or have
a meeting with us.
Linda Nier, Community Manager
Page 3
Sheri Holman and I attended the last meeting –
sitting with Rick and Darlene Hollenbach. It in-
cluded a very interesting presentation on water
in our state – where is it and how is it regulated.
I took the opportunity to ask if any other ELS
parks had AEDs and Parkwood in Wildwood ac-
tually has 2 – 1 in the clubhouse and 1 outside.
Their social club bought them. Some good dis-
cussion followed and there was a good bit of in-
terest in getting the FMO to sponsor legislation
requiring AEDs in communities. Since that
meeting the HOA board met with
Linda Nier and her boss, Tom and
learned that they are ok with us
placing one in the front of the club-
house but ELS will not purchase it.
The next FMO meeting is Thursday, March 15 at
Woodlands at Church Lake (1129 Heritage Dr.
Groveland). This will be very interesting be-
cause the state FMO president will be there to
discuss the legal superfund they are trying to
build that we could tap into should the need
arise. The meeting starts at 12:30 with a light
lunch – no charge – and guests are welcome. I
have room for 2 more if anyone is interested in
riding along.
Sheri and Don joined at the meeting and Jim
Holthus and Marge Bresinski have just joined.
It’s an organization important to all of us so
please consider joining.
Ron Grove, rep.
Sandy Serdar, Pres
We have met with the park manager and her
boss, once since our last homeowners
meeting. It was a very positive meeting.
We will have an open forum of the home own-
ers association on Wednesday, March 21st
from 6:30-7:30. We will update you with what
we have accomplished since our annual
meeting. All homeowners at
Lakeside Terrace are automati-
cally members. Please join us.
Please enforce the 15 mile per hour speed
limit within our grounds. I have noticed some
speeding and if you have not noticed we
have had more of a constant showing from
our local police department.
Attention, we have added a smoking table to
the pool area. It is located to the left of the
entrance off of Terrace Drive. There should
be no smoking at any other area at the pool.
The table is to smoke at then go back to
your lounge chair.
I hope this winter has been a fun one for you
all. I know this office continues to strive to
continue the progress of little by little making
changes for the better. I hope you approve.

WOW!! We all survived The Tag Sale. What a success this event always is. We can not begin to Thank You all enough for all of your hard work. There is so much planning, time and effort that goes into this sale. I will not even try to mention you all individually because I will forget someone, and I don't want to hurt anyone or make them feel unappreciated. So just know how much all of the effort is appreci-ated. I don't have the numbers yet but, we did good! Thank you to everyone that baked, donated, purchased, or vacuumed! As always there are a lot of activities going on this month. Make sure you check the bulletin boards, kiosks, or go on line and check the calendar at lakesideterrace.net. Here are a few of the things going on in March:
For all of you who are wondering what Social Club does. We set up ways to make things work better for all of the residents, and to promote the spirit of loyalty, cooperation, happiness and fellowship among all the residents, Iin coopera-tion with management. Not only do we provide all of the big entertain-ment and meals. We also supply all of the kitch-en supplies, cards, batteries, and all of the little things. We are all working together to make this com-munity better for all of us. As always please invite your friends and neigh-bors to the March meeting.

Only 4 more weeks in our Win-
ter Session this year. As I have
posted weekly high scores on our
Lakeside Terrace Family Facebook page I will
just reiterate that Split Shots is still leading
the pack with a couple of teams closing in.
Spare Us is keeping a close eye on the stand-
ings since they will be in a roll-off with the
winner of this session. While the rest of us are
having fun with 9-pin no-tap they will bowling
for the championship on March 28th followed
by our banquet at Golden Corral. I’m hop-
ing that next year we will see some new faces

What a great show we had on February 15th
with Mikki and Jim Beyner. They were a huge
hit with our residents. Many people asking that
we book them again for our park. They’re sing-
ing was beautiful in many different styles of mu-
sic. Plus, Mikki is an accomplished ventriloquist
too. She brought her dummy, which was a
monkey named Bingo. Bingo almost stole the
show. Mikki and Jim received 2 standing ova-
tions for their performances.
They were outstanding.
We also had the largest turn-
out for this show of 100+
residents for this show. The
50/50 ticket went to a broth-
er of Joyce Feltner for $104.
Wow! We appreciate all the
support from the park residents to put on these
premier performers from Tin Pan Alley produc-
tions. We are looking forward to more great
shows like this one in the future.
Our committee members include: Peg Anoil,
Marge Bresinski, Maryanna Foster, Lee Hayden,
Debi Porterfield, Kathy Walden, and myself.
Thank you to the committee and all the other
people who came to help with set-up and tear
down. A special thank you to Hubie Porterfield
for having the chairs almost all set before the
rest of us arrived and selling 50/50 tickets with
his wife Debi that evening

Patty Haimeral was the
cookie jar winner at bin-
go, Monday February,
19 taking home $50
for the game. And
then on the 26th Barb
Stodola won the cook-
ie jar. Alas, it didn’t
have time to accumulate
so Barb’s winning was $21
for the game. Come and join us every
Monday evening. Cards sales start at 5PM,
with games starting at 6 PM. Bring a friend and
join the fun.
Traffic
At the homeowners annual meeting in January,
cards were passed around for every- one
to write down their concerns. There
were several residents that were
concerned about how fast people
travel down our streets. Please
remember that we have several
people that walk and ride
bikes in the park dai-
ly. Please obey the
speed limit.

The Prodigal Son
When I moved to Boca about 15 years ago I stayed with a long time friend and agreed to help care for her mother with Alzheimers. Her disease was fairly advanced but, on occasion, she would exhibit flashes of her old self.
It was important to keep a routine so, bedtime was always the same time 8:30. Sometimes, she would be exhausted. Other times she would be agitated. I knew she had been deeply religious. I tried reading the Bible to her but, she could not really understand. I started telling stories from the Bible but told them in modern parlance.
One night I told the Prodigal Son. I.explained a good man had two sons that he loved very much. As adults, one decided to stay at home and help with the family business and one thought he could do better and went to the big city to seek his fame and fortune.
When he arrived, he succumbed to the ways of the people who did not obey the laws of God. He began to drink too much, gamble, do drugs and run around with women with no morals. He dis-regarded everything his honorable father had taught him. After a while, he changed so that even his so called' friends' wanted nothing to do with him. He was broke and fell very ill.
He had no choice but to return to his father. As I told this, my friends eyes grew bright. She said "I know this story!" I was excited that she understood.. She was excited too! She said "I even know the name of the man" I thought she recalled the story. I felt elated that I had helped her. I asked what was the name of the man. Without a pause she answered "It's that
SOB Charlie Sheen"… In all honesty, she was cor-rect!

SIX LITTLE STORIES"
1 Once all villagers decided to pray for rain. On the
day of prayer all the people gathered, but only one boy came with an umbrella.
That's FAITH.
2 When you throw babies in the air, they laugh be-
cause they know you will catch them. That's TRUST.
3 Every night we go to bed without any assurance
of being alive the next morning, but still we set the alarms to wake up.
That's HOPE.
4 We plan big things for tomorrow in spite of zero
knowledge of the future. That's CONFIDENCE.
5 We see the world suffering, but still we get mar-
ried and have children. That's LOVE.
6 On an old man's shirt was written a sentence 'I
am not 80 years old; I am sweet 16 with 64 years of experience.'
That's ATTITUDE.
Have a happy day and live your life like the six stories. When I was a child, I thought nap time was punishment. Now it's like a mini-vacation.

Larry Thomas and Mary Profeta are the new
owners of 31 Sunrise. They are snowbirds who
moved here from Struthers, Ohio. They said we
can blame Rich and Sue McFadden for “twisting
their arms” to live here. They have been friends
for many years. Larry coached softball with Rich
McFadden in Struthers, Ohio. Other friends of
theirs in the park are
the Valentinos and
the Filberts. Larry
and Mary said they
do love it here.
They have been
coming to Florida to
visit relatives in Na-
ples over the years,
as well as their
friends here. They wanted to rent at LST this
winter, but couldn’t find a place available.
While they were here looking for a rental, Bon-
nie Wehling put a For Sale sign out and they de-
cided to buy it almost right away. It was meant
to be.
Mary is originally from Mentor, Ohio near Cleve-
land and Larry is from Struthers. Mary raised a
family of 1 daughter and 2 sons and now has 3
grandsons. Larry has 3 daughters and 7 grand-
children that he lovingly calls “rugrats.” Mary
was a widow and decided to try online dating
with the “Our Time” site. Larry and Mary were
matched and hit it off right away. They knew
they were meant to be together even if Larry
had to drive 150 miles one way to see Mary for
several months.
Larry’s career was with the Youngstown Steel
Doors company where he worked manufactur-
ing railroad train cars for 30 years. He also is an
Army Veteran and served in Vietnam from 1966-
68. Thank you Larry for your service. Mary’s
career was as a fulltime mom and housekeeper.
Now Larry has a summer job working at a golf
course back home.
Larry played all sports as a young man, with bas-
ketball as his favorite. He enjoyed coaching
youth football and softball. Now he wants to
enjoy the “Golden Years” by relaxing in the Flor-
ida sunshine and having the freedom to do
whatever. Mary likes the sunshine and the pool
and shopping, plus the time they can spend with
friends and relatives in Florida.
Larry has a birthday on November 30th and
Mary’s birthday is December 21st. Their phone
numbers are 440-477-3985 and 352-530-2033.
Welcome to Larry and Mary.
Betty Rose Knittle is the new owner of 11 Lake-
wood Lane. Betty is a full-time resident. Betty
has lived in Florida for 18 years at Terra Village
in Leesburg and now at LST. Her companion is a
sweet rescue maltese puppy named PJ.

used to come to Florida on vacation to see
friends in Lakeland. When Donald retired from
working for the rail-
road in Toledo, Ohio
as a crane operator,
he wanted to move
to Leesburg, Fl.
Betty’s mom lived in
Clermont and one of
her brothers was liv-
ing in Florida.
Besides raising 6 chil-
dren, 3 girls and 3 boys, Betty worked as a wait-
ress and hostess at various places in Ohio.
When they moved to Florida, Betty got a job
with Disney at MGM as a greeter for 5 years.
She said she really loved that job. Betty’s son
Ron also worked at Disney.
After 18 years at Terra Village, Betty and her
children decided to make a change and found
LST. They fell in love with our park. Her son and
daughter-in-law now own the home in Terra Vil-
lage. Betty also has 11 grandchildren and 5
great grandchildren back in Ohio.
Betty’s hobbies include casino bus trips, Texas
Hold-Em, Bingo, Flea markets, and yard sales.
She enjoys playing Tripoly for pennies on Thurs-

The Bon Worth Fashion Show on February 17th was well attended and gave a wonderful op-portunity for several of us to do some shop-ping. Our models Lee Hayden, Sue Green-wood, Rose Cepal, Marla Holmes and Joanne Spees looked lovely and gave us the oppor-tunity to see a variety of fashions. Special thanks to Pattie Voelker for her contributions and for handling the door prize tickets. Con-gratulations to all who won. Thanks to June Hoffert for being in charge of refreshments and to Shirley Smith and Rose Cepal for baking goodies. Appreciation goes to the residents who helped set up tables and to those who stayed after the show to rear-range the Clubhouse. Most of all thank you to all of the la-dies who attended and made this a worthwhile event.
The February Breakfast at The Old Time Diner provided the atmosphere for some ‘50’s nos-talgia for those of us attending. A moment of silence was observed in memory of our Red Hat sister Sally “Madame Butterfly” Cannon. Maryanna Foster and Shirley Smith were rec-ognized for February birthdays. The 50/50 was won by Barb Forman. Others in attend-ance were: Lee Hayden, Sue Greenwood, Shirley Hassom, Kathy Walden, Rose Cepal, Deb Ludwig, June Hoffert, Marla Holmes, Ma-rie Griffin, Karen Keenan, Pattie Voelker, Pam Sttetnisch, Barb Stodola, Millie Banfil and guest Red Hatter Patty Haimerl.

For those interested in Wii Golf, Sunday at 2 PM, you can enjoy 3, 9
or 18 holes sitting on our air condi-tioned Resort Golf Course. It's a little
more difficult than Wii Bowling, but still easier than the real thing and it costs nothing (unless you want to play for skins). Graphics are great and it's still a good time. The record for 18 holes currently stands at -23 (held by yours tru-ly). Other course regulars are Joe & Joyce Feltner, Dick Seamans, Bill Smith, Bill Hoffert, Sandi Snell, Dave Serdar, & Dianne Henry. So if you think you might want to give it a whirl - swing by! Wii Bowling is going strong! Regular schedule is on Monday and we're squeezing everyone in at 1:30 PM. Currently Rich Aniol leads the way for 100 pin bowling with his 2258 avg with Kathy Walden holding down high avg for the ladies with a 2122 avg. Don Shaw leads the way with the Re-sort 10 Pin Bowling with his awesome 223 avg while the ladies are being led by Joyce Feltner with an equally impressive 220 avg. For Regular 10 Pin, Dick Seamans & Dee Walker lead the way with a 216 & 210 respectively. We just completed our 2nd Linda Johnson Memo-rial Hi-Lo Doubles Tournament on Jan. 27th and it was highly competitive with the Championship decided by just 5 pins. The pairing of Dianne Hen-ry and Judy Graham rolled an 1829 and narrowly defeated Jeff Furry and Darrell DiLuzio who tossed 1824. Taking home the bronze with a score of 1760 was the team of June Hoffert & Kelly Abbott edging out Sue McFadden & Dee Walker who rolled 1757. Rounding out the top five was the team of Judy LaQualia and Joyce
Feltner with their 1732. Rich Aniol was high roll-er for the tournament with his 968 series while June Hoffert was top dog for the ladies with 946. Darrell DiLuzio flirted with perfection but fell just short with his 267 for the tournament high game while Dianne Henry took home high game honors for the ladies with 234.
Mark down Mar 9th on your calendars...2nd Dottie Degnan Memorial Tournament will take place on that date. Doors will open at 5 PM for entry fees, strike tickets, and the serving of food with the bowling getting started around 6 PM. This year we will go with 100 pin Hi-Lo Dou-bles Alternate Shot as our format. The lower avg for each doubles pairing will start each game and bowl the odd numbered frames with the higher avg bowler shooting even numbered frames. We're hoping for maximum participa-tion either by bowling or assisting in the kitchen or just coming up to root on your favorite bow-ler. An $8 entry fee per bowler covers cost of food, and all prize money and for those of you who would just like a good meal cough up $4 and we'll take care of you.

This month we sadly lost two of our dear friends and neighbors, Dot Thompson and Sally Cannon. We offer our prayers and hugs to Dot’s and Sallie’s families, especially to Peg and
Rich Aniol, Dot’s sister. Both were exceptional women with big, big hearts. Always kind and giving. Selections
from Dot’s obituary follows. Dorothy L. Thompson, 80, of Fruitland Park, FL.
passed away on February 12, 2018. She was born in
Detroit, Michigan on April 6, 1937 to William James and Dorothy (Lewis) Goward. She moved from Inkster, MI in 1990 to Fruitland Park. Dorothy was a retired legal secretary. She enjoyed playing the organ and was also a water aerobics instructor, continuing in retirement at her Lakeside Terrace com-munity. Sally M. Cannon, of East Main St., Springville, died Saturday February 24, 2018 in the Cleve-land Clinic, Cleveland, OH at the age of 71. She was born May 31, 1946 in Buffalo, New York a daughter of the late Raymond and Alta (nee Cowles) Rosier. She had recently returned to Springville after living the past 17 years in Florida where she enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with her friends. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, was a former Moose member and liked to play Bingo. Her husband William A. Cannon whom she married May 31, 2003 died May 27, 2014. She is survived by her children - Daniel (Kelly) Hayden of Stafford, VA, Donald (Susan) Hayden
of Springville, Dennis Hayden of Springville, Dawn (Boyd) Wible of Springville; step-children - Michael (Victoria) Cannon of Springville, Mark (Christina) Cannon of New Port News, VA, Ka-ren (Terrence) Murzynski of Orchard Park; four grandchildren - Joshua (Amber) Hayden, Bran-don Hayden, Elizabeth Rehrauer, Hayden Wi-ble, a great-granddaughter - Ryleigh Hayden and several nieces and nephews. She moved to Lakeside Terrace in 2001 with Bill, the love of her life. They were lifelong Buffalo Bills fans. Her love for Butterflies was well known by all who loved her. While at LST she was very active as an mailroom elf, she hosted coffee and doughnuts each Saturday with her best friend Shirley Hassom,(she loved her coconut doughnuts). Sally was a proud sis-ter of our Piccadilly Ladies of the Lake. She was(of course) given the name “Madame Butter-
fly”. Her favorite performer was Elvis, she was chairperson of our LST Christmas Toys for Kids drive, helping to provide toys to children of the Leesburg area who might not receive one. She was our sunshine lady sending cards to LST resi-dents who were ill. Sally was a kind and loving person who helped to make Lakeside Ter-
race a wonderful place to live.
The Piccadilly Ladies of the Lake will host a me-morial for Sally on March 11th at 2PM with cake, coffee & tea to celebrate her life. All are welcome. We would love you to share your Sal-ly stories.
Respectfully submitted, Maryanna Foster AKA Candominium contessa
