Fundamental Principles of Sound healing

• There is a direct relationship between the three components of sound, healing and consciousness.

• Those who are able to grasp this, will have a more complete understanding of the potential within either one;

• The use of sound for healing oneself, others, or any aspect of the cosmos; the full potential of healing or one’s own consciousness, powers, and abilities, as well as development and evolution of a conscious interaction with the fullness and breath of the cosmos, including, the nature of vibration and movement as an elemental force of the cosmos, and the inter-relationship of all three

(Crowe,1996)

Sound is the vibrational nature of creation, as well as our human ancient cultures’ wisdom and methodologies

We can utilize techniques with voice and simple instruments to enhance awareness and integration of sound in personal and professional practice. Sound Healing and consciousness.

We will explore the nature of authentic healing and utilize esoteric sound practices to realize heightened states of wellness and self-realization.

Sound is fast regaining its place as the pre-eminent healing modality. Having been first used by the ancients, sound therapy has undergone a period of re-discovery and is now poised to reveal the intricacies of healing both at the cellular and psychological levels.

The View

• The Tibetans talk about the human being in three ways. They talk of body, of voice and of mind. These have three locations. The position for 'body' is in the head. The 'voice' is in the throat and the position of 'mind' is in the heart.

• For Tibetans there is no identity between mind and brain, as in the West. So the voice acts as an intermediary between the subtle realm of mind and the more physical realm of body.

(Kloos, 2013)

Voice

The voice acts as an intermediary between the subtle realm of mind and

the more physical realm of body.

It is seen as a bridge between the material and the immaterial. Speech, voice, sound, and subtle breath or prana are all

connected.

(Blaikie, 2013)

Sound is often considered as an intermediary for the translation of spirit into matter and then for matter into spirit through the agency of human beings.

If spirit can become matter through sound, then matter can become spirit, again through sound. Sound is used in almost all places and times for travelling the path of transcendence - for transforming matter back again into spirit.

(Mitchell, 2002)

The Wine Glass Experiment

• If you listen to the sound of a wine glass and direct it back to the glass you can smash it with your voice. So you can decompose form with sound. You can do it physically, but also you can bring about transformation through sound, spiritually.

(Wärja, 1994)

• Within the Tibetan tradition of Dzogchen the aim is to relax into a state of contemplation and to live our lives with integrity so that the implications of our actions are apparent in the clarity of every moment. So that we live, like a fish in water. Like riding the waves of the Tao, we leave no traces, and lead impeccable existences causing no disturbances.

• If you cannot do it for whatever reason perhaps you have some blockage or disturbance in your energy or problem of some kind in your mind which prevents you from doing this. In this case there are certain things you can do which can make it easier.

(Curreri, 2015)

Mantra • In India too the voice is very important

for transformation. Perhaps the most common form in India - and it is also of course common in Tibet - is its use of Mantra. Mantras are sacred sounds conserved in the ancient languages, even in languages which are no longer understood. There are certain sounds for specific illnesses or problems caused by particular beings, or mantras to bring you into a state of clarity or emptiness.

• ( Imre, 2013)

Mantras

• Mantras tune you into the lineage of teachers in which you are participating and if you use these particular sounds which have been used by masters of the lineage then you tune into and share their attainment. You are tuning into all the other people who have ever used this mantra.

• Mantra is used throughout the world, for example, amongst the Sufis, the mystics of Islam, forms of mantricchanting are combined with rhythmic movements of the body, and with rhythmic breathing to bring you into a state of transcendental ecstasy or spiritual bliss.

• Most liturgies are chanted or sung and this also applies to the liturgy of the Christian church. When you change from speaking to singing something very interesting happens. Through singing you can unite with everybody. That is why all countries have a national anthem.

Shamanic GroundThe great world religions have super-imposed themselves over the indigenous shamanistic traditions which existed for hundreds of thousands of years beforehand.

Many of the sonic yogas of Tibet, Africa and India already existed long before Buddhism. They were very ancient. These exercises of chanting, rhythmical bodily movement, rhythmical breathing and so on are very ancient practices which were incorporated into the great religions.

You find practices like the Whirling of the Dervishes. They spiral and rotate while breathing and praying in combination with the voice of the flute which is very similar to the voice of a human being. They say that the body of the dervish is like the body of the flute through whom God is blowing.

What I Teach

• After studying in a number of different traditions I eventually decided to teach . I had begun to see that there were certain similarities in the principles behind the way sound was used. Certain things seemed to be held in common, and it seemed important to try and understand the principles, and teach them in a way which could help people who felt alienated from their own spiritual tradition

To Develop Consciousness, Self-Realization, Healing or

Therapeutic Practice:

• So much is about right attitude, right attention, and right intention. It is not about developing a methodology but more about becoming whole and developing living relationships with the Cosmos.

• Right Attitude

• Right Attention

• Right Awareness

• Right Intention

• CHOICES AND ACTIONS

• IT IS NOT ABOUT DEVELOPING A METHODOLOGY

• IT IS ABOUT BECOMING WHOLE AND DEVELOPING LIVING RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE COSMOS

Pattern of Sound

• Every sound—even a physical sound—makes a pattern. And that is where the science comes in: There are thousands of mantras that produce thousands of patterns with different qualities. The quality of love, the quality of joy, the quality of peace, the quality of expansion, and so on. And these qualities can be combined scientifically to produce any desired effect. There is nothing you cannot achieve through Mantra Science. Any physical, astral, mental, or spiritual accomplishment is at your disposal, once you understand this Science.

To Be a Healer

• To be a healer requires decades of conscious work.

• The greatest, most essential, easiest, fullest and fastest pathway to becoming a healer, requires us to enter and explore the pathway of healing within our self.

• By doing so, we map the pathway of assisting others in their own process of healing.

Page 23: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

The Law of Opposites/Polarities

• Our physical body, energy and mind exist within a Gender Principle of Creation. As a matter of fact, all things exist within the Gender Principle of Creation, The Natural Law of Polarity, also referred to as the Law of Pair of Opposites.

• (Wärja, 1994)

Page 24: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

Balancing the Positive/Negative

Polarities

• The law of opposites also exists within our Gender bodies, which expresses as a polarity in matter form (male or female).

• While our physical body exists in one polarity form in matter, our internal energies exist at both male and female principles.

• Our right side is “electric” and works as a transmitter, which is the active force principle of the male gender.

• Our left side is “magnetic” and works as a receiver, which is the passive force principle of the female gender.

Page 25: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

• Shamanic practitioner Simon Buxton speaks of ‘a protected physical and emotional space in which the transforming work of healing takes place through learning and teaching.’ This appears to be what is required for clients as they enter the shadows to work with what is usually kept suppressed because it is painful, difficult, shameful, fearful or any of the other emotions associated with what keeps us stuck. This is arguably even more important when we start to work in any of the altered states of consciousness (including shamanic practices) that allow us to access non-local information, including past lives and work with the ancestors.

Holding Sacred Space

To be balanced, harmonized and peaceful with oneself, one must acknowledge the inner polarity and acknowledge the value and necessity of both gender principles in order to truly “know thyself”.

Our life experiences show us the lessons for our consciousness to learn to bring balance to our inner polarities so that we may achieve sacred marriage and union with our internal spirit. If we become wounded in our male or female, we may choose to exist in one predominant polarity of which we act out into the world.

The True Healer• Human beings with balanced

polarity have embodied a massively higher frequency to a Zero Point Field, with much larger auric systems which are capable to amplify and direct these balanced energetic forces into the environment. They can bring a strong force of balanced frequencies and perform incredible healing, manifestations and events.

Scientific research and contemporary sound therapies

• Can we heal our bodies using sound?

• Vibrational medicine is a growing field. More people are using emerging technologies based on human energy to diagnose and treat various issues in the body.

• The theories of vibrational medicine states that the body has seeks to maintain homeostasis where the vibration and frequency of the body is in harmony with each other.

(Wang XJ, 2010)

Disease is the result of disharmony

• The holographic principle is a principle of string theories that align with the idea of using vibrational methods to bring the body into greater harmony

• Our physical body is constantly emitting electricity and magnetic energy. As all things, we are electro-magnetic in nature.

• Our brain emit electromagnetic waves

Page 30: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

Technology can capture our energy

• We have all kinds of machines such as biofeedback machines that can capture themo-conductivity, measure heart rate variability and other frequencies

• We can identify inharmonious frequencies in the body and restore to homeostasis

• Our brain and heart energy can be detected through EEG and MEG devices

(Niedermeyer et al, 2004)

Biofeedback and Bio-Well

• These are examples of machines that can scan for thermo-conductivity, measure heart rate variability, other frequencies and help measure signals of inharmonious frequencies in the body.

• We can then treat these disharmonious frequencies by feeding in the proper vibrational signals needed to restore the system to homostasis

field

• The aura is in constant motion and is affected by the mind, emotions and higher levels of the soul. Illness is a result of imbalances in these bodies.

The Function of a Healer

We all have the capability to sense subtle energies and see imbalance coming from higher vibration.

Some of us can increase these capabilities through proper training.

Ancient traditions and disciplines of shamanic healing provided avenues for healer to develop higher sensory perception

Page 36: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

Healing is dependent on the practitioners vibrational state

The practitioner’s state of mind has to be trained to hold

the right vibrational state within themselves.

Observer and Observed Effect

The right state of mind is pure sate of

mind devoid of attachment

With time we can heal ourselves by

treating beyond the physical

Page 37: The Science and Spirit of Sound Healing...Nada Brahma –All is Sound •Many cultures structure, from our energetic (subtle) bodies, to our physiological and sub-atomic form. Drawing

Ability to Manipulate Energy

• The Healer must have the ability to set the correct energy flow and hold the coherent state fro long periods of time.

• Not physical energy already around us, but higher energy from pure vibration

• Some machines may draw physical energy, however this energy is not pure. The healer has to be the instrument.

Sound Healing

• Since ancient times, one method of vibrational healing is with the use of sound

• Sound Healing tools can be used to vibrate the body to altered states

• The healer has to be trained to use sacred instruments with pure intention to heal

Sound Bathing for balancing and clearing

• The principles of sound, vibration and energy flow as healing modalities have been taught in both the East and West. Every wisdom tradition throughout the ages has used the tenets of vibration for healing and heightened states of consciousness. From Hermetic philosophers, Chinese acupuncturists and Hindu sages to Jewish cantors, Catholic mystics, Shamans and Buddhist monks, spiritual leaders knew the profoundly powerful effects of vibration on the nervous system; whether of the human voice chanting specific words (mantras) or instruments creating resonant sounds.

The power of intentional voice in contacting and working with non-ordinary reality

• As a psychotherapist, I understand that the emotion is a vibration.

• Trauma is an interference of vibration that causes blocks and keeps a client stuck, preventing flow of energy

• Sound can be used to heal and can also destroy. The intention has to be clear. A practitioner must work on themselves and clear their own blocks in order to maintain a vibration powerful enough to shift resonance of another.
