Friday, July 23 through Monday, Sept. 6 daily except Tuesdays (known as “dark days”).

Gates open 10:30 a.m. weekends, 11a.m. weekdays (except for 7 a.m. August 28 for Travers Day and noon on July 30 and Sept. 3).

Post time (start of the days first race)is 1 p.m. (except for 11:35 a.m. on August 28 and 2:30 p.m. July 30 and Sept. 3).

TIP: The feature race of the day isusually the next-to-last race.

NYRA has space for about 6,000 carsat its Union Avenue entrance. Fee: $10.

TIP: Backyard entrepreneurs offerparking in their yards. On-street parkingin the area is free but very limited.

General, $3; Clubhouse, $5. FREE Grandstand Admission on Opening Day Children 12 and under free. Travers Day (Aug. 29), $5/$10. TIP: Admission gets you in the gate, not in a seat. Most seats are pre-sold. Limited seats are sold for that dayʼs races starting at 9 a.m. at the Union Avenue gate, four per person, cash only. Covered seating consists of the box seats (season owners and VIPs), clubhouse (sections A-K) and grandstand (sections L-Z). Benches: First come, first served. Picnic: Bring your own lawn chair or claim a picnic table. Luxury suites: Limited seating in free-standing air-conditioned units.

Comfortable shoes and casual clothing. Hats are fun and in the spirit of the track. Shoes and shirts are required. Attire is dressier in the clubhouse section but may still be casual.

Concessions: Numerous, throughout the grounds.

Picnics: Watch the races on televisions and check out the horses as they prepare for their races. Coolers are permitted, but not inside building. No glass containers.

Breakfast: Buffet available from 7 to 9:30 a.m. each racing day, or just stop by to watch horses work out. Admission is free, but you must leave grounds by 10 a.m. and can return when gates reopen. Exception on Travers Day.

Restaurants: A variety of options. Call 587-5070 for seating charges, minimums and reservations.
