Methods, Materials and Components

The primary approach for the ecoTEC Living home was to select materials with no or low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions and to design and build the structure with a continuous barrier to gaseous VOCs emissions located as close as possible to occupied area of the house. Most of the emitting materials are placed outside this envelope. The sole exception to this rule is the wood structural

(studs, plate and header) in the walls. We have selected Douglas Fir as the lowest emitting cost effective structural lumber. Suitability for Intended Use

ecoTec Living recognizes that within the MCS community there is considerable individual variability in the pollutant concentra-tions that causes reactivity and in the specific pollutants that cause reactivity. That being said, we are face with constraints as to what can be designed and factory produced given affordability requirements and manufacturing feasibility. In view of this, we re-alized up front that our product will not satisfy the needs of every person with chemical and electrical sensitivities. It represents the best that can be done at this time in view of the constraints men-tioned. We urge potential customers to arrange to lease our evalu-ation home located near Quakertown PA to evaluate the home’s ability to meet their specific needs and sensitivities.

We work closely with our Clients who have special needs or desire higher EMR electrical filtration systems. Please call the Studio if you have specific requests...310.457.5477
