those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.

Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a

wide array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster

victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and

shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About

83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly

9,000 communities nationwide.

There is a $5 fee to replace a membership

4 | No one under the age of 13 is allowed in the

Fitness Area unless participating in a Kroc

Center program or class. Members 13–14

may use the Fitness Area after successfully

passing the Smart Start for Teens program or

with a participating adult.

5 | Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas

outside of pools and sun deck. No swimwear

or wet clothing is allowed outside of aquatic

areas. Proper workout attire is required in

fitness area (no street shoes or jeans.) Any

clothing, including logos or messages on

apparel, must be acceptable in a family

setting.

6 | Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters

or pets (excluding service animals) will not be

allowed inside the facility.

7 | Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed

anywhere on the premises.

8 | Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless

tobacco are prohibited in the facility or on

facility grounds.

9 | Weapons of any kind are not permitted on

the premises.

10 | With exceptions to special dietary

restrictions, outside food is not allowed at

terminate membership in response to any

immoral or illegal activity by a member.

Code of Conduct & Discipline Policy In order to facilitate positive life experiences

while at The Kroc Center, mutual respect

between members, guests, and staff is

required at all times. Failure to observe these

policies will result in disciplinary action and/or

termination of membership privileges. Center

personnel have the right to refuse service to

anyone deemed disruptive or abusive. The

Kroc Center reserves the right to conduct

background checks on all members and day

pass users.

family membersHip definitionOne or two adults living in a household and dependents who are eligible up to the age of 19. At age 19, an individual with a disability or an elderly parent who is living in the same household will remain eligible for the Family membership. Verification of family status and residency may be required. For example tax return, utility bill, health insurance, etc.

montHly payments/ one-time annual paymentMembership fees can be paid monthly via recurring credit card charge or electronic funds transfer (bank account debit). Prorated fees will be due at time of enrollment and may vary depending upon enrollment date. To complete electronic funds transfer process, a voided check must be provided with completed membership form. Membership fees for the following month will automatically be deducted from member bank account around the 20th of the current month. Any requested changes must be submitted prior to the 10th of the month in order to be processed for the following month.

Annual payments may be paid in full by cash, check, major credit/debit card. Fees are equivalent to 12 monthly payments. The annual fee and required registration fee are due at time of enrollment.

insufficient funds policyThere is a $20 charge for each insufficient funds transaction. This places your membership on hold until payment is received.

equipmentFree use of athletic equipment including volleyballs & basketballs. See the front desk.

Public drop-in access is intended for inclusive recreational use; any external personal or group training/coaching is prohibited. Contact the rental department for specific group requests.

membersHip cancellation/ cHange policy Changes or cancellations to a membership must be submitted in writing using a “Cancellation/Change Form.” Changes will take effect immediately.

cancellationsMembership fees are nonrefundable. In order to cancel a membership, members must submit a written request by the 10th day of the current month for it to become effective in the following month. If a member cancels or if membership payments lapse for more than 30 days, the appropriate registration fee will be charged to reopen the membership account. There is no fee charged for cancellation.

cHangesAny requested change that affects the billing of your membership must be submitted by the 10th of the month to be processed for the following month. If changes occur after the 10th of the month, please see the front desk for pro-rated amount. Membership downgrades and removal of family members are subject to a $20 change fee.

lockersLockers are available at no charge. Guests are responsible for supplying their own lock and clearing locker after each use. The Salvation Army is not liable for lost or stolen property.

financial assistance/ scHolarsHip programIndividuals, families, and seniors who cannot afford Kroc Center membership or fees for youth camps and/or group classes can apply for a discount. Eligibility for this program is based on income level. See above for how to apply.

gift cardsGift Cards are available for purchase at the front desk and can be used by recipient to pay for memberships, class and program fees, facility rentals, merchandise, and cafe items. Gift cards cannot be used for class materials, theater & performance tickets, vendor events or non-Kroc sponsored events.

class and program cancellationsFull payment is expected at the time of enrollment. No cash refunds are given unless the program is cancelled by The Kroc Center. If the program is cancelled by The Kroc Center, you will be given the choice of a full credit or a cash refund. If you request to cancel your class enrollment five or more days prior to the first class, you will receive a full credit on a Kroc Center gift card minus a $5 processing fee or you may choose to transfer to another session if available. Requests made less than five days prior to the start date are not eligible for a refund or credit, except in the case of personal emergencies. No credits or pro-rated credits will be issued for missed days of camp or class due to illness, partial attendance, behavior issues, or any other reason.

Kroc Scholarship ProgramThe Salvation Army Kroc Center is pleased to provide a

scholarship program to help provide access to The Salvation

Army Ray & Joan Kroc Center of Coeur d’Alene.

How to apply To apply for a Kroc scholarship, we ask that you sign up for a

short workshop. Dates and times are listed to the right. This

workshop will help us get to know you better so that we

can connect you with the activities, education, and personal

enrichment program opportunities offered within The Kroc

Center. In addition, the workshops will ensure accurate and

complete submission of applications thus speeding up the

approval process.

Spring Workshop Dates & Times Preregistration is required. Please sign-up

at the Front Desk or call 208.667.1865.

School’s Out Day CampTake part in Day Camps at The Kroc Center,

where you can make new friends, discover

new talents, learn new skills—-all while

creating memories that will last a lifetime. Kroc staff provides

quality programming when school is not in session. Each day of

the week is action packed with activities

like swimming, rock climbing, cooking,

crafts, games and more. Campers

will be entertained and supervised

by staff who are dedicated to strong

family values and having awesome

fun. A daily fee is charged for each

session, lunch and snack are provided.

day camp policiesday camp drop-off/pick-up procedures Day Campers are to be dropped off between 9:00-9:30AM. All adults authorized to pick up children will be required to show identification at pick-up. A Sign-Out Waiver Form must be completed by both parent and child for a camper to be allowed to sign him/herself in and out of Kroc Programs. When a child is given the authority to sign him/herself out, he/she is no longer in the care of The Kroc Center staff and standard Kroc Center membership policies apply. 24-hour notification is needed for late drop-off or early pick-up if the event has been pre-planned. A phone call to the Youth Coordinator in the case of unexpected absence or schedule changes is required, and cancellation fees may apply. Consistent late pick-up may be penalized with a fee.

waiver/medical forms Each student must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver (on the after school enrollment form) and supply correct and updated medical information in regards to their child(ren). Waiver(s) must be completed and signed prior to participation, preferably at time of registration.

medication distribution In the case of medication distribution, parents must complete a Right to Distribute Medication Form. This releases The Kroc Center from liability for medication that is required for distribution for the health of a child. Medication must be dropped off to Youth Coordinators in the original prescription container with your child’s name printed on the label and placed in a plastic bag. Medication will be stored in Youth Coordinator’s office and administered at the time(s) and in the amount designated by the Right to Distribute Medication Form. Parents must sign out medication at the end of each day and check back in the following day. Any medication not brought in the appropriate container may preclude participation for your child on that day.

inclusion If you foresee your child needing special accommodations and support, please fill out an Inclusion Request Form.

After School Program & Day Camps

Homework Help After School Program mon–fri, 3:00–5:45pm

free, grades 6tH–12tH

The Kroc Center provides homework help, a healthy snack,

physical activity and exposure to various aspects of the facility

on a daily basis. Students arrive at 3:00 and participate in a

minimum of 30 minutes of homework help, test preparation and/

or study skills as needed. A snack is provided. After homework

is complete, students will have the opportunity to experience a

variety of activities, tournaments and interactions organized by

Kroc staff. We will be providing an ice cream or pizza party at the

end of each month for kids who have shown good work ethic

and/or grade improvement. So, if you’re wondering what to do

after a long school day, we encourage you to come hang with us

at The Kroc where we both work hard and play hard!

Goal! Show your soccer moves this winter by joining a team and

playing in The Kroc Indoor Soccer Arena. This coed recreational six

game league will be held on Sunday evenings and feature 7 vs. 7

teams. Team and individual player registration will be accepted.

The Kroc Membership Desk. Games will last an hour and consist of

a 10-minute warm-up, two 20-minute halves, a 5-minute half time,

Aquatics & Swim Lessons

Tips for safe & healthy swimmingHelp us keep the pool safe and healthy

for everyone! + Children 6 & under must be accompanied in the

Cove pool with an adult and stay within arms reach.

+ Children 3 & under must wear a swim diaper and

plastic pants with full elastic legs and waist.

+ parents are ultimately responsible for the safety and

well being of their children.

+ please shower before entering pool.

+ Do not use the pool if you show any signs of illness

or have had diarrhea in the last two weeks.

+ Lifeguards are the final authority on rules and

regulations in the pool area.

please note: Maintaining a clean and healthy swim

environment is of the utmost importance at The Kroc

Center. You can help by having your family follow the

tips listed above. The Kroc pool will close immediately

for 30 minutes to 24 hours if an illness or bathroom

incident occurs in the swim area. Health and safety

protocols are conducted prior to reopening the pool.

Looking for something new in the aquatic field or just tired

of chasing that black line? This coached class will teach the

One-Day Swim Clinicsjanuary: competitive stroke, start, & turn clinic

DIVE yourself into the lead. FLIP yourself to a faster time. Learn and

refine your starts and turns and strengthen your competitive edge

during a swimming race. Developing the skill to turn efficiently will also

Whether you’ve been training for months, or have just started

swimming, this United States Masters Swimming (USMS)

sanctioned meet is an opportunity to test your ability and have

are invited to register. Events include sprint and middle distance

races in all four competitive strokes, distance freestyle events and

with local recruiting offices to prepare you for entry level military

physical fitness requirements. Retired military instructors will lead

circuit style training routines incorporating activities such as 100

Learn to Swim: ages 6+

There are six levels in the Learn to Swim Program. Each level

includes the teaching and assessment of progressive swimming

and water safety skills. Students are moved through the

progressive levels as they accomplish the skills required at each

level. Please note that a student may remain at the same level for

multiple sessions as they master the skills. The lessons are taught

in small group classes by Certified American Red Cross Instructors

and Aides. Kroc Instructors make swimming lessons fun and help

Youth Theater

Jillian Kramer, The Kroc Center’s Theater Instructor, has a

B.A. in Theatre Arts from Willamette University and has

studied at the Atlantic Theatre Company in New York

City and The University of Wales in Aberystwyth. Jillian

has performed, directed and taught across the country,

including a national tour of Robin Hood with Missoula

Children’s Theatre. She is active in several Northwest

theatre organizations as a director and a performer. Jillian

loves to teach the performing arts and share tips and real

life experience from her stage and screen background. All

youth classes end with a showcase for family and friends

to enjoy on the last class meeting.

babysitter’s training

This course will provide youth who are planning to babysit with

the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly

give care for children and infants. This training will help

participants to develop leadership skills; learn how to develop

a babysitting business keep themselves and others safe and

help children behave; and learn about basic child care, how to

care for respiratory and cardiac emergencies, and basic first aid.

Participants are recommended to also sign-up for Community

CPR and First Aid classes.

Computer Workshopsintroduction to eXcel 2007

Develop your skills with this useful software by learning to create,

edit and format a simple spreadsheet on a Kroc computer. Learn

how to quickly organize your information and use Excel to do

basic calculations. Prerequisite: The ability to use a mouse.

About The Salvation ArmyThe Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting

those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865.

Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a

wide array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster

victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and

shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. About

83 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly

9,000 communities nationwide.

abusive actions, and inappropriate behavior.

3 | Lost membership cards must be reported.

There is a $5 fee to replace a membership

card.

4 | No one under the age of 13 is allowed in the

Fitness Area unless participating in a Kroc

Center program or class. Members 13–14

may use the Fitness Area after successfully

passing the Smart Start for Teens program or

with a participating adult.

5 | Shirt and shoes must be worn in all areas

outside of pools and sun deck. No swimwear

or wet clothing is allowed outside of aquatic

areas. Proper workout attire is required in

fitness area (no street shoes or jeans.) Any

clothing, including logos or messages on

apparel, must be acceptable in a family

setting.

6 | Bicycles, roller blades, skateboards, scooters

or pets (excluding service animals) will not be

allowed inside the facility.

7 | Alcohol and/or drugs are not allowed

anywhere on the premises.

8 | Smoking and/or use of any type of smokeless

tobacco are prohibited in the facility or on

facility grounds.

9 | Weapons of any kind are not permitted on

the premises.

10 | With exceptions to special dietary

restrictions, outside food is not allowed at

11 | The Kroc Center reserves the right to

terminate membership in response to any

immoral or illegal activity by a member.

Code of Conduct & Discipline Policy In order to facilitate positive life experiences

while at The Kroc Center, mutual respect

between members, guests, and staff is

required at all times. Failure to observe these

policies will result in disciplinary action and/or

termination of membership privileges. Center

personnel have the right to refuse service to

anyone deemed disruptive or abusive. The

Kroc Center reserves the right to conduct

background checks on all members and day

pass users.
