SHSAA Awards At its annual general meeting, the Central Valley Athletic Conference nominated the following teachers for 2011 Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) awards:
Congratulations are extended to each of the above recipients as well as to all those who were nominated. The Athletic Directors had a difficult task in determining the recipients of the awards because of the number of worthy candidates presented. The awards will be presented to each recipient in the fall. We appreciate everything that our many coaches do in providing excellent programs for our students.
Special congratulations to Grant Elke on being awarded the SHSAA Merit Award. The Merit Award is the highest award offered by the SHSAA, and is awarded to an individual who has who has given outstanding leadership and service to the SHSAA and to the promotion of high school athletics in Saskatchewan over a period of time. Grant is retiring at the end of this school year and his work with CVAC and SHSAA will be greatly missed. This award announcement was made today, at Grant’s retirement party at Osler School.
