THE R/V INSIDER Rosemont/Vista Palms – Mile Run East Newsletter
MAY, JUNE 2014 ISSUE #2
President’s Remarks Robert Melvin
Hello neighbors. We had a nice response to the
last (first) newsletter and several people have
asked how often it will come out. Since this is a
good way of communicating information we
decided that after every board meeting would be a
good time. That way we can keep you up to date
with your community.
Several repairs have been made; a 16 foot section
of the pool deck that was lifting, repainted doors to
and around the clubhouse, had the plumbing
serviced in both of the restrooms, and the pool gate
repaired as well.
Our committees are coming together nicely. The
Social committee pulled off another successful
garage sale, while the Landscape committee is
hard at work on plans to beautify the
neighborhood. The Rules committee will be
having their second meeting this month and some
changes are in the works. Some of these changes
will require an owners meeting which is set for
July 8 at 6:00 pm. You are welcome to stay for the
regular board meeting scheduled immediately
after. There is no limit as to the number of people
serving on each committee however the Fine
committee is still vacant. Although I can
understand how this may be an unpopular
committee, this is the only committee that board
members are not allowed to serve on, thus
consisting only of homeowners.
Rosemont/Vista Palms is a great place to live.
Call or text me with your ideas on how we can
make it even better.
Respectfully, Robert

WHAT’S NEW
CENTER MEDIAN BEAUTIFICATION
The landscape committee is working on a plan to
remove the dying plants from the center median and
replace them with drought resistant, Florida friendly
ones. The idea is to beautify while lowering our
water bill. Please use extra caution while driving
around this area as this project is scheduled to begin
soon. If you would like to be part of this committee
and help with landscaping ideas, contact
2ND
USE CLUBHOUSE FEES
You asked and we listened. A member in our
community asked if we could lower the 2nd
use fee
for the clubhouse. The rules committee put forth a
suggestion to amend the policy and the board
approved lowering the fee from $90 to $40. This
takes place immediately. Remember, you always
have 1 free use per year. Contact Fran to reserve.
UPDATES:
TENNIS & BASKETBALL COURTS
Resurfacing of the tennis & basketball courts are taking longer
than anticipated, mainly due to weather, however, we apologize
for your inconvenience and they should be up and running very
soon. Skateboarders have been noticed scuffing up the new
surfaces; therefore in efforts to keep our facilities in good
condition, the gate to the basketball court will be reinstalled
along with signs that indicate no skateboards, bikes,
rollerblades or scooters.
SUBDIVISION WALL
A low pressure washing was performed and has been noted by
several homeowners that even though it doesn’t take care of the
problem at hand, it certainly looks much better. Plans are
being formed and bids are being taken for this rather extensive
project, so look for more to come.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG
Rosemont/Vista Palms homeowners, show off
your pride and your beautiful home. We are
tossing around the idea of featuring a beautiful
home of the quarter. Is this a title you might like?
Send us your thoughts on this and maybe your
home will be featured. Meanwhile here are some
yard tips: April is the time to weed and feed your
lawn. May is the time to fertilize annual and
perennial flowerbeds and watch for brown spots in
your lawn as this may be a sign of chinch bug or
web worm problems. In June you should fertilize
your palms and prune back the spring flowering
shrubs such as azaleas and camellias. For watering
tips go to:

KIDS CORNER Grab your water-wings, the baby pool is open
for summer.
The holes in the surface of the playground mat
are being repaired with a patch kit purchased
over the internet at a savings to the association.
The board decided to renovate the old basketball
pad and have a 4-square and hopscotch drawn.
COMMUNITY SHOUT-OUT Thank you to all the homeowners who
participated in the Spring garage sale. You
helped make it a success!
The clubhouse now has a microwave oven
donated by the Johnsons. Thank you so much!
Thank you to Penny for working on the roses at
the first entrance. You are greatly appreciated!
OWNERS MEETING There will be an Owners Meeting to discuss
several changes to the bylaws on July 8th
at 6:00
pm in the Rosemont/Vista Palms Clubhouse.
The following will be voted on: 1) That since
ownership of a lot is considered membership
that only members may be allowed to serve as
board members. 2) That only 1 board member
from the same lot is able to serve on the board at
the same time. 3) To change the method of
communication to e-mail as this will
significantly cut down expenses and expedite
information to the homeowners.
MAINTENANCE ISSUES
Should you see something that needs attention
or repair, please call Fran or Robert. You can
also report a problem on our website
www.mileruninfo.com and select the report
maintenance problems tab.
