The Romans

Introduction

The Romans owned a very large empire. But they wanted more so they decided to invade Britain. There first attempt they didn't succeed. There second attempt they didn't succeed because they had a storm in the sea. The third attempt they won.

Roman Houses

All Roman Houses were a different shape. Most of the houses had 7 rooms. Posh Romans lived in villas. The majority of people lived in Celtic style houses. Only 1% of people in Rome lived in villas.

Roman life

In roman times fathers were most important member of the family . If he wanted to he could whip or Jail there sons or even sell them as slaves.

Roman Clothing

Men wore a long piece of material called a toga. Women wore a long ankle length toga. Rich men wore a long cape called a tunic. Rich women wore a silk tunic normally with jewellery and make up

If Roman gods got angry dangerous things could happen. People would send dead animals to the gods to make them happy e.g. bulls pigs sheep.
