• 2006 - ETPs eMobility, ISI, NEM and NESSI identify the need for collaboration

• 2006 – creation of the cross-ETPs working group

• 2007 – Future Internet identified as a convergence topic for the ETPs, providing end-to-end scenarios

• The Future Internet?– A unifying environment in which complete

user oriented scenarios could be defined– An environment to which each ETP could

contribute specific elements to instantiate such scenarios

• The existence of NESSI and of all the ETPs active in the ICT domains is a major advantage for the Future Internet PPP – providing the PPP with a starting point that is advanced both in terms of communities and of coherent mechanisms.

• With the ETPs, the Future Internet PPP can speed up its results by building on existing communities, running projects that are already actively collaborating at results level, beyond collaboration at working group level.

NEXOF aims to enable the instantiation of specific service infrastructures addressing identified application needs.

NEXOF is constructed by NESSI Compliant and Strategic Projects and Open Contributions through a series of coherence mechanisms

• The Future Internet PPP provides NESSI with a great opportunity, and puts the role of NESSI Strategic and Compliant Projects at the forefront of this role. Building on the already impressive results of many of these projects, and moving forward in a coherent manner is at the heart of NESSI’s current and future operations.
