• Can not depend only on cooperating edge nodes
• Choose a balance to match each Smart City application
Evolution of IoT Platforms
• Holistic and horizontal view of smart cities require platforms to support them. IoT platforms are evolving around concepts such as smart cities.
• Need to extend managed environment to the edge.
• Becoming connectivity agnostic and device agnostic expecting for robots (drones), driverless systems (not only cars), and organic devices for environmental monitoring.
