THE RIVER
From Grade 6 French
On November 1st, 2018, twelve grade 6 students in Mme Gagne and
Mrs. Monias ’class went to Trades and Technology Olympics at the
TRCC gym. There we were introduced to hairstyling, carpentry, cooking,
landscaping and many other fun activities. Multiple high school students
volunteered their time to run these stations. There was also alight lunch
of pizza and a drink provided. This helped s open our eyes to see the
things we can do in life like, considering a trade for a job. There was a
competition to see who could get the most points with all students com-
bined. Riverside tried very hard but Le Voie du Nord won the competi-
tion. Each member of La Voie du Nord team received a 5 dollar gift card,
and another small prize. It would have been nice if all of our students
could go because it was a nice experience.

Also, if you foresee an absence from school for your child, let us know or send a letter with your child to give to his/her teacher.
It also acceptable to send a note with your child to school prior to their absence, this will avoid a call from the school.
Letterland Party!!! Grade 1 classes from Mme Portey and Mme Ketch’s class had a Letterland Party November 30th. Letterland is a phonics program used to teach letter sounds through stories and songs. Each student dressed up as a character from letterland to celebrate having finished the entire program. Deputy Fire Chief, Steve Molloy was “ Fireman Fred” and helped us spell. Check out some of the words we made below.
