Serve Up Help for the Homeless
WHAT: As part the “Help the Homeless” campaign, 99.5 The Mountain and The Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant are partnering for the fourth year with the Denver Rescue Mission to provide a Mexican Fiesta meal for the homeless, complete with a salsa bar. Since 2006, The Mountain has been working to bring awareness to the plight of the homeless, to help shatter the misconceptions about homelessness and to help create lasting solutions through the “Help the Homeless” campaign.
WHO: Servers/Volunteers 99.5 Mountain Guide Robby Night and staff Rio Grande employees and staff
WHERE: Lawrence Street Shelter, 1130 Park Ave West (corner of 23rd/Lawrence St)
WHEN: Monday, January 28th 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
WHY: Rio: “We, at the Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant, recognize the importance of giving back to each community. We have been a successful company and enjoy being able to support local organizations. We feel it is important to teach our employees to give back as well, whether it is with a donation of gift certificates, food, or our time. Partnering with 99.5 The Mountain and the Denver Rescue Mission allows us an opportunity to get out into the community and donate our food, time, and energy. We enjoy the partnership and look forward to many more years.”
The Mountain: “We believe that it is our responsibility to be a corner stone in our community; not only try to set an example but to do everything in our power to help find a lasting solution for homeless and at risk people in the front-range.”
