The Right to Play – Chapter 1 Hello everyone who knows of me and is reading this out of sheer boredom or pity (or from pure interest, whatever floats your boat). I am back with another legacy (oh no), which I hope to complete before I am off to University. The above picture is not from this tale, but rather from the previous attempt I had known as New Beginnings. Because of the premise I set out for myself, to play each neighbourhood for the same amount of time as the legacy, I wound up becoming very bored. So I started again. There was, however, an idea from that legacy that I will keep: earning the right to expansion packs. Each generation, a new EP will be installed (in the chronological order) and each SP will be installed for special events. I will earn my right to play the final TS2 game with this new family.

The Right to Play – Chapter 1Hello everyone who knows of me and is reading this out of sheer

boredom or pity (or from pure interest, whatever floats your boat). I am back with another legacy (oh no), which I hope to complete before I am off to University. The above picture is not from this tale, but rather from the previous attempt I had known as New Beginnings. Because of

the premise I set out for myself, to play each neighbourhood for the same amount of time as the legacy, I wound up becoming very bored. So I started again. There was, however, an idea from that legacy that I

will keep: earning the right to expansion packs. Each generation, a new EP will be installed (in the chronological order) and each SP will be

installed for special events. I will earn my right to play the final TS2 game with this new family.

Meet the woman who will help me achieve this: Winona Almsburry. Winona is a Fortune sim with the personality 9/2/6/3/5, making her a Virgo as well. Winona, as you can see, has skintone 4, brown eyes,

and black hair. Her face is a mix of a few Maxis premade faces and her outfit is entirely Maxis.

Page 3: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Because Seasons will not be around for a while, the initial house gets to be set up in that old, beloved legacy style: lawn-living with an

outhouse.

Winona: “I never signed up for this!”

I know, Winnie, but it will get better soon.

Page 4: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

As you can see, I bought the more expensive stove to make a matching set for the kitchen nook. Winona will need high cooking skills

to get by.

Winona: “Are you saying that I can’t cook?!”

Not yet, but soon.

Winona: “*grumble*”

Page 5: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona takes a job as a Team Mascot to make money.

Winona: “There should be some law against this kind of treatment.”

Page 6: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

And the first walk-by that comes along is who her future husband will be: Komei Tellerman. Now, with all due respect, Komei isn’t that bad looking. He has a couple of sharp features, but he isn’t ugly. His kids can turn out that way if mixed with the right genetics, but his face can

be pretty cute on some sims.

Page 7: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “Listen, I know this sounds funny, but I need to marry someone, have kids, and continue this process for ten generations in order to help this dude with a computer; do you want to help me?”

Komei: “So you’re in a legacy?”

Winona: “You know about these kinds of things?”

Komei: “Yeah, I’ve been in a few before- and some others challenges, too. Look, let’s start off as friends and I can help make things a little

easier.”

Winona: “Cool.”

Page 8: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Komei: “Trust me; everything gets better pretty quickly if you put your mind to it.”

Winona: “You’re really- wait, what’s your angle?”

Komei: “No angle, just doing what I always tend to do.”

Page 9: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “*slight grin*”

Komei: “Alright, so I think you’re cute! What’s the harm in that?”

Page 10: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

No harm at all…

Page 11: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Seriously…

Page 12: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

No…

Page 13: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Harm…

Page 14: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

At all…

Page 15: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Komei: “Go away; we need to make babies so you can finish your challenge thing.”

Cool?

Page 16: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

My sims officially rock

Page 17: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “Oh s*it, a fire; what do I do?”

Komei: “Did you study the cooking skill?”

Winona: “…”

Komei: “Well?”

Page 18: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “NO!”

Komei: “*sigh* This is going to be a long legacy.”

Page 19: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

So Winona is on to her first pregnancy (and still hasn’t had her first promotion). Luckily, Komei started off at level 8 in Politics so we have

enough money coming in to feed a family.

Page 20: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Obligatory second bump picture.

Page 21: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Komei is seriously one of my new favourite Maxis townies: he’s already the Mayor within two days of moving in. Praise ‘im!

Page 22: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Obligatory painful birth picture.

Page 23: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

It’s a- let me first explain how the naming system is going to work for this generation. I was listening to my iPod when this kid was born and the song “I’m Just A Kid – Simple Plan” came on. I figured, what the

hell, the kids will be named after singers. So welcome the heir to the Almsburry family Pierre Bouvier Almsburry, named after the lead

singer of Simple Plan.

Pierre has skintone 2, black hair, and brown eyes. His personality is 9/1/8/6/3 making him a Virgo.

Page 24: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Cuteness… pure cuteness.

Page 25: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

This shot is here because I want to explain something: Winona is an awesome mom: she changed Pierre without queue from me! That has

never happened before... spooky.

Page 26: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Blue spewing liquids… we all know what that means :D

Page 27: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre wastes no time growing up into a toddler… too bad I couldn’t get a face shot.

Page 28: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

And… he looks like his dad.

Something I’ve noted from the basegame is that there is an outfit that every sim automatically grows up in for each lifestage and each sex.

You get bored of them pretty quickly.

Page 29: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Obligatory “everybody poops” picture.

Page 30: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Obligatory “she still hasn’t gotten a promotion and she’s pregnant again” picture.

Winona: “It’s not my fault- I haven’t been into work for over a year.”

Page 31: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Ah, the toddler mirror: saviour to early simmers everywhere

Page 32: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “No, I no wanna brotha or sista!”

Winona: “Too late now.”

Page 33: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Obligatory “father-son bonding squee…again” picture.

Page 34: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Yay new baby!

Page 35: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

So welcome to the world little Chantal Kreviazuk Almsburry, the official spare of the family. The song that came on for her was “All I Can Do – Chantal Kreviazuk” making it pretty easy for me to remember who to name this kid. Both of the kids are named after Canadian singers…

huh…

Chantal has skintone 2, black hair, and brown eyes. Places your bets as to whether or not the Almsburry family has clone syndrome.

Page 36: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

More birthdays.

Page 37: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal is not a clone of her brother. She has her father’s mouth and the rest of her mother’s features making her somewhat unique.

Page 38: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre is now a child, and no he did not grow up into those clothes and that hair. I use the Sim Wardrobe hack (or whatever it’s called) in

order to change my sims from drab to fab. DO IT NOW!

Page 39: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “Say momma.”

Chantal: “…”

Winona: “Please?”

Chantal: “…”

Page 40: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “Why do I have to go to school? If I’m going to be the legacy heir, I need to learn how to make babies instead of math.”

But math can be fun.

Pierre: “Really? Name one kind of fun math.”

Uh…vectors are fun for some people. And probability is fun for gamblers.

Pierre: “…”

I’ll be quiet now.

Page 41: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “Hey son, I finally was promoted.”

Pierre: “*stoic face*”

Winona: “Why do my kids hate me?”

Page 42: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “Look, Chantal, the sim in the mirror is you.”

Chantal: “Yay, me!”

Pierre: “Remember, if mommy’s around, we don’t say anything, okay.”

Chantal: “I ‘member ‘cause I start.”

Page 43: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “It funny making mommy think we moo’ta.”

Pierre: “Ready to grow up?”

Page 44: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

I never told you Chantal’s personality, did I? Well it’s 6/5/6/7/5 making her a pretty evened out Aquarius.

Page 45: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

This is also child her. Again, she’s totally a maxis sim. None of my CC seems to be working beyond hacks.

Page 46: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Oh, and a bedroom wing was added to the house in recent days. Yeah… moving on.

Page 47: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “Heeeeeey, Chantal!”

Chantal: “What?”

Pierre: “Whatcha thinking about?”

Page 48: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “Well, since you happened to break my train of thought, I’m stuck thinking about you.”

Pierre: “Oh…”

Page 49: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “Tag, you’re it!”

Chantal: “What?”

Pierre: “Come on, I only have a few more days of being a kid left and now you’re old enough to play with so let’s just do this!”

Page 50: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “You’re a jerkface, Pierre!”

Page 51: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Within his childhood, Pierre managed to max the body skill. This is most likely due to the bonus from the athletic reward and his high

athleticism. I wish I could be skinny.

Page 52: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

As mentioned before, Pierre was due to grow up into a teenager. This will happen in 3…2…1…

Page 53: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

PSYCH!

Page 54: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Anyways, this is teenage Pierre. I tried my best to base his style off of the real Pierre Bouvier, but very little in the original game works.

Either way, Pierre is a Popularity sim now.

Page 55: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “Hey mom, when did we get a couch and a big screen TV… and walls?”

Winona: “Well, I recently became the coach of the Sim City-“

Chantal: “Next time, just say promotion.”

Chantal: “Glad to know that you can speak.”

Page 56: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Pierre: “I’m awesome, you know it!”

Page 57: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Congrats to Winona for making it as a Hall of Famer. Thank you for not killing me as of yet.

Winona: “…What?”

Page 58: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Extra picture… I don’t remember why I took this…

Page 59: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “I’m awesome, I know it!”

Page 60: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “So, Pierre, I just got an A+ on my second day of school. How long did it take you?”

Pierre: “A few years.”

Chantal: “So… I’m smarter than you?”

Pierre: “No, I just have better priorities.”

Page 61: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Skip a few days of boring boringness and it’s now time for Chantal to grow up into…

Page 62: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

A ROMANCE SIM! Yes, she rolled a four so now I have her kissing everyone. Yay! Anyways, her teenage style is based more-so after Avril Lavigne’s first album style. Chantal will probably be more of

herself in college (which I have unlocked once this chapter is over).

Page 63: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Winona: “By the way, if you hadn’t figured it out yet, your brother’s the heir.”

Chantal: “Oh…okay?”

Page 64: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “Well, there’s still college for me.”

Pierre: “What are you talking about?”

Chantal: “College. You know, post secondary education.”

Pierre: “Never heard of it.”

Page 65: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “What the hell, Pierre? How can you say that you’ve never heard of college?”

Pierre: “Because no such thing exists. But, if you’re so inclined, name one.”

Chantal: “Sim State University.”

Pierre: “What are you talking about?”

Page 66: The Right to Play - Chapter 1

Chantal: “I… never mind.”

So that’s where I’m ending the chapter. 66 pages of fun and excitement and my first EP will be installed. What twists and turns will

unravel themselves next time on The Right to Play?

Spoiler: Snape kills Dumbledore.
