The RIIP•A voluntary external engagement programme to run each semester•Providing internees with;• Analytical and research skills• Potential to have work published• Team based activities• Knowledge of ‘peace and conflict’ in both a
local and international context• Experience of working under the guidelines
and in some cases working with external organisations (NGOs, think tanks, charities, faith based organisations)
What are the disciplines the RIIP will focus on?
• Inter-disciplinary sections• Religion and borders• Human rights• Religion and peace-building• Political violence• Conflict resolution• Peace, governance and society• Economic peace
What will be required from the internees?
• Commitmento Attendance at workshopso Meeting report deadlineso Supporting fellow interns
• Professionalism• Energy
RIIP Structure• Approximately 5 interns per working group• Each group will be assigned a question/project via an external organisation• Each group will nominate a rapporteur who will be the point of contact for the RIIP coordinator• Interactive workshops will be held on a bi-weekly basis and will include;o Research trainingo Problem solvingo Project progress reports
• Final reports will be submitted to RI staff• Good work will be sent to relevant external organisations and potentially published (by the RI and external org)
