Disclaimer: I own very little of this. The original concept and most of the characters belong to Robert Lewis Stevenson and G. William Oakley. However, I do own the characters of Erica Reilly and Dr. Ian Willard, so please do not steal them. I am making no profit from this screenplay, so please do not sue me.

1 EXT. LONDON, ENGLAND 1890’s- NIGHT 1
Camera shows the London City and moves in on the home of Dr. Jekyll as the opening credits play and the music of “System” by Chester Bennington plays in the background.

2 INT. DRAWING ROOM- NIGHT 2
JOHN UTTERSON and INSPECTOR TREVOR HAGGIS both start to move forward at the same time, but Utterson pushes Haggis back toward MARY KRYROVICH.
HAGGIS"Mr. Utterson!"
UTTERSON"Here, Miss Gambetti, let's have a look at that."
Utterson takes the chemical from CARLA GAMBETTI.
UTTERSON (Cont)
"What do you make of this?"
HILDEMARA POOLE and MOLLY WINTHROPSTON try to get DR. HENRY JEKYLL’S attention as he is trying to calm SYBLE CAREW down. They are two late as they all start saying "No!" as Utterson drinks the chemical.
JEKYLL"No, John... Bad John."
Utterson begins to scream as he starts to transform before everyone’s eyes. Haggis, Molly, and Poole all stand back scared out of their minds. Kryrovich stands off to the side even angrier. Jekyll takes the chemical away from Utterson and hands it to Poole. Utterson falls to the ground in pain. Syble gets behind Jekyll, while Jekyll pulls Carla in front of him.
Utterson suddenly stands and looks at everyone evilly. Jekyll then pushes Carla up to UTTERSON/HYDE. Carla starts flirting with him and begins to run off toward the kitchen. She shakes her butt at him as she goes. Everyone stares in shock at what they've just seen.
KRYROVICH"I hope he gets the dog!"
Everyone stares at Kryrovich weirdly.
JEKYLL"Syble, perhaps we'd better retire to the library."
They both start for the door leading to the Library.
JEKYLL (Cont)
"Are you joining us, Inspector?"
HAGGIS"Yes, of course."
Haggis goes over to Jekyll and Syble as they start to go inside.
POOLE (Pointing at the chemical)"But what about this sir?"
JEKYLL
"Keep it!"
POOLE“You don’t pay me enough!”
Jekyll, Syble, and Haggis exit into the Library not paying any attention to what Poole just said.
POOLE"Molly, take this!"
MOLLY"I don't want it! Give it to Ms. Kryrovich!"
POOLE"Yes, here you go Ms. Kryrovi..."
(Remembering who she's about to give it to)“... No!"
Kryrovich starts to go for the chemical anyway, but stops when there are several sudden screams from the Library.
All three-house keepers are terrified and stand stiff. Then, from out of the library comes Syble.
POOLE”Ms. Syble?”
Haggis and Jekyll come running in behind SYBLE.
Poole, Molly, and Kryrovich all move away from Jekyll, because they are thinking that he is the one that Haggis and Syble are running from. Haggis stands near the house staff, while Jekyll and Syble move off to the far side of the Drawing room.
Shortly following them is Carla and the evil ALAN HYDE, who once was John Utterson. Hyde sees that the knife that Jekyll’s version of Hyde was using just minutes before is still lying behind the couch. He picks it up and begins to hold it firmly.
POOLE (Cont)
“Where’d they come from?”
Jekyll holds onto Syble trying to protect her.
JEKYLL “I’m afraid they found the secret passage through the
library.”
SYBLE”Stay back you evil monster!”
JEKYLL”Get behind me Syble!”
Syble moves behind Jekyll as Hyde snarls at everyone in the room, especially Carla, who she is enjoying this new version of Hyde.
CARLA”Edward… You are Edward… Aren’t you?”
Hyde ignores Carla’s question and starts to move toward Poole. Through Hyde’s reactions, it is easy to see that Hyde is starting to lose control of Utterson’s body, for he is struggling to move around.
HYDE”I want more of that chemical now!”
HAGGIS”Don’t let him have the chemical Mrs. Poole!”
POOLE (Running to hide behind Jekyll)“Stay away from me you brute!”
Poole then butts Syble out of the way so she can be safe.
SYBLE”Hey!”
HYDE”Give that to me now!”
Hyde runs toward Jekyll and Poole to try and take the chemical.
JEKYLL”No John, old friend! Don’t!”
Hyde holds the knife firmly and tries to slash at Jekyll, but he moves out of the way leaving Poole out in the open unprotected. Hyde grabs for the chemical. He is successful, ripping it out of Poole’s hands. He puts the knife in one of his pockets and moves back with the chemical.
POOLE”No! Give that back!”
KRYROVICH“No… I want it!”
Hyde snarls at Kryrovich as she grabs hold of the chemical. Hyde and Kryrovich have a tug of war with the chemical while everyone stares forward in confusion as to what Kryrovich is doing, but Hyde is stronger as he pulls the chemical away from her. Everyone stares at Kryrovich again as she backs away.
Hyde takes this opportunity to drink the rest of the chemical. Everyone then turns back too late to stop Hyde. They all look in horror as they see Hyde’s transformation completing before their eyes as Hyde screams from the pain that he’s feeling in his stomach. He then looks up after the pain fades.
Hyde starts growling in delight as he stalks the other people around.
HYDE “I am now the ultimate power! I have just finished the most powerful chemical ever known to man! Now you’re all mine!”
Hyde pulls the knife out of his pocket and starts chasing after everyone. The people run past and around the furniture. In Hyde’s attempts to get everyone, he falls into some of the furniture and Molly even comes running by and trips Hyde at some point. During this, Hyde tries to go after Kryrovich, but then realizes whom he’s going after and turns in a different direction.
HYDE”I don’t think so.”
KRYROVICH“Hyde is afraid of me? I’ll show him!”
Before Kryrovich is able to do so, ERICA REILLY, the maid, enters from Molly’s Kitchen with a feather duster in hand. She starts hitting Hyde in the head with the duster as it pushes him out of the way.
ERICA“Get out of here! Get out of here! Go! Now!”
Hyde is coughing from the dust coming out of the duster.
HYDE”Stop that!”
Hyde becomes fed up with this and starts to go after Erica with the knife, but she then stomps on one of Hyde’s feet. Hyde yells in pain and, dropping the knife on the floor, runs out of the house, through the kitchen, with Erica chasing after him.
ERICA”Where do you think you’re going?”
Kryrovich then stops Erica as she tries to chase after Hyde.
KRYROVICH“I wouldn’t try to follow him.”
Everyone then begins to catch his or her breath. Poole and Molly are both sitting on the couch and begin to fan themselves. Kryrovich continues to stand beside Erica incase she has to grab hold of her again. Carla stands off to the side not knowing what to say, for she is the one that really created all of these problems for bringing the chemical in the first place. She looks extremely sad. Haggis sits down in the chair near the desk and takes out his pipe.
JEKYLL”What are we to do now?”
Jekyll sighs and takes Syble’s hand as the two go over to Haggis.
JEKYLL (Cont.)
“My good friend has been taken over by Edward Hyde.”
HAGGIS”Either that, or a new monster like Edward Hyde.”
Haggis shakes his head as he continues to smoke his pipe.
JEKYLL”I feel so responsible for what happened.”
SYBLE”Don’t say that my darling.”
CARLA”Well… it was I that brought the chemical after all.”
SYBLE (Looking in Carla’s direction)
”That’s exactly right… What are we to do Inspector?”
HAGGIS”The only thing we can do, Ms. Carew. We have to find Mr.
Hyde and stop him before it’s too late.”
KRYROVICH”What do you mean by we, sir?”
HAGGIS”Well my dear strange lady, what I mean is that all of us must find Mr. Utterson’s alter ego and then find a way to
reverse the process.”
KRYROVICH”How are we supposed to reverse the process?”
JEKYLL (Pondering on the possibilities)
“Love and friendship are…”
HAGGIS”Exactly Doctor. Syble’s love for you is what finally rid your body of Edward Hyde. All of your friendship for Mr.
Utterson will do the same thing for him.”
POOLE“Well, I don’t want to help the bloody…”
JEKYLL”Poole! You know that John would help to save you if you
were in this predicament, and I’m sure that we’ll be needing your help.”
Jekyll returns his gaze to Syble so he can console her some more.
POOLE”What about the house? Someone’s going to have to stay here
and watch over it incase that Mr. Hyde were to return.”
JEKYLL”Ms. Reilly can watch after the place while we’re gone.”
ERICA (Showing anger)
“Pardon me master! I’m not staying in this house alone with that thing out there!”
Suddenly the doorbell rings.
JEKYLL”Poole! The door!”
POOLE (Standing from the couch)
“I’m going.”
HAGGIS (Standing and walking over to Erica)
”Don’t worry Madam. I’ll have some of my best men posted at each entrance of the house, and if you need it, I’ll have another one in here with you at all times. You need not
worry. Scotland Yard will not let you down.”
ERICA (Sighs still looking angry)
“All right Inspector, I’ll stay if I must.”
Poole returns and sits back down beside Molly on the couch. Everyone stares at Poole wondering why she returned without anyone.
POOLE”There was no one out there.”
JEKYLL (Shaking his head.)
”Strange… I want you to stay as well, my darling Syble. It’s not safe out there and I don’t want to see you get hurt.”
SYBLE (Showing tension)
“I’m not allowing you to go out there with that woman…”
Syble points at Carla.
SYBLE (Cont.)
“…Anywhere near you!”
Carla suddenly looks up from her shame and walks forward opening her mouth in disgust at the words that just came out of Syble’s mouth.
CARLA”Excuse me! Who do you think you are, telling him he can’t
be around a lovely lady like myself?”
Carla moves over to the other side of Jekyll. Syble looks extremely angry.
Syble moves Jekyll out of the way and starts having a stand off with Carla.
SYBLE (Looking at Jekyll disapprovingly)
”Lovely? I’d say more like disgusting, Ms. Radio!”
CARLA(Confusion)”Radio!”
Jekyll moves back in between the two ladies and starts holding them back. They are both pushing against Jekyll and trying to get at each other.
SYBLE”I’m going to give that Radio a little tune-up! Let me by
Henry!”
CARLA”Come on and try if you think you can, Miss I’m all sweet
and innocent!”
SYBLE”I’ll show you sweet and innocent!”
Haggis dumps the ashes of his pipe in the flowerpot yet again. Poole notices and huffs loudly. Haggis then puts the pipe up and moves forward at the same time.
HAGGIS”Ladies! Please calm down! This isn’t the time for
bickering.”
Syble and Carla both back off. Jekyll sighs heavily and straightens out his cloths.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
“Now… Ms. Gambetti…”
CARLA (Angry)“Yes!”
HAGGIS”Don’t you have a performance tonight?”
Carla thinks out loud about this and suddenly she remembers.
CARLA”Oh, dear! I’d forgotten all about it! I must go!”
Carla runs toward the exit, not allowing Poole to show her out.
SYBLE (Yelling in Carla’s direction)
”That’s right! You’d better run!”
Syble turns back to Jekyll.
SYBLE”I don’t ever want to find that Radio in this house again!”
Haggis looks at Syble disappointedly.
JEKYLL”Of course, darling.”
Jekyll doesn’t seem to show any real interest in the subject.
JEKYLL (Cont.)
“You have my word on it.”
SYBLE”And I’m coming with you. I will not sit here and wait for you to return. I’ll be totally worried about you, and won’t be able to stand it. I refuse to have to stay here when I
know I can be of some help.”
POOLE (Almost to herself)
”Some help all right.”
Poole and Molly laugh on the couch. Some of the people look at the two of them oddly.
HAGGIS”I don’t think that would be very wise Ms…”
SYBLE”Perhaps you didn’t understand me! I’m going on the search
whether you want me to or not! I refuse to stay here without Henry by my side.”
JEKYLL”Don’t you understand darling? At night, the outside world
is extremely dangerous.”
SYBLE”Yes, but I’ll have yourself and the good Inspector by my
side. I don’t have anything to fear.”
MOLLY (Still laughing with Poole)”Can’t argue with that.”
POOLE”Too true.”
HAGGIS
(Sighing)”Fine! Put yourself in danger, but I will not be held
responsible. Do I have everyone’s agreement that this is the best possible plan?”
Everyone in the room shakes their heads in agreement and says some words of excitement.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
”Good. Let’s get moving on out to the streets and…”
Suddenly DR. IAN WILLARD comes running into the house in frenzy. This spooks Poole and Molly on the couch as they scream from hearing the sudden loud man come in.
WILLARD”Inspector!”
JEKYLL”Who is this?”
HAGGIS”This is my partner, Dr. Ian Willard. I was sure that you’d
met him last night, but Ian what is it?”
WILLARD”Scotland Yard has just gotten word of some kind of
disturbance on the streets!”
HAGGIS”Mr. Hyde is already on the move! We must get going, Dr.
Willard, get some of our best men here immediately to watch over the homestead and Ms. Reilly. I want you to join us in
the search afterwards.”
WILLARD”Yes sir.”
HAGGIS”Alright, let’s move out!”
Haggis, Jekyll, Syble, Kryrovich, Molly, and Poole move toward the front entrance. Willard goes off in the direction of Molly’s kitchen.
Erica is left alone in the Drawing Room. She just stands there for a moment sighing.
ERICA”I wish I could have some excitement in my life.”
Unaware by her, but the audience can see, Hyde slowly enters the Drawing Room from the Library. He crouches behind the couch and peeks around at Erica.
Erica takes the duster in her hand and starts dusting the furniture. She sits down on the couch. Hyde peeks above the couch and looks at Erica sitting down.
ERICA (Cont.)
”I never get to have any fun around here. It’s just work, work, and more work.”
Hyde stands and pulls up his hands in an attack position. Just when he is about to go down, Erica sighs loudly. This comes as a surprise to Hyde, and he ducks back down. He then looks back up and sees her still sitting on the couch. He gets back into his attack position, and then, Willard returns entering from Molly’s kitchen. Hyde ducks back down. Willard does not see him, because he’s busy dusting off his clothing.
ERICA(Cont.)
”It’s about time you got back here!”
WILLARD”Sorry Madam. I have several men at each entrance to the
house now. There’s no way Hyde’s getting back in this house tonight.”
Hyde suddenly jumps up behind the couch and spooks Erica. She jumps behind Willard.
HYDE”I didn’t even leave the house!”
WILLARD“Stay back Miss! I’ll handle this!”
Willard runs after Hyde, who runs to the other side of the couch. Erica runs out of the room screaming for it is the only thing that she can think of doing.
The two men start struggling to see which way the other one will go around the couch. They continue to test each other’s skills at which way they will try to go next. Suddenly, Erica returns with TWO POLICE GUARDS. She rushes over to the chair at the desk and sits down breathing heavily. The two men run around the couch with Willard now following them at the back. Hyde leads the chase around the Drawing Room as he moves behind the desk, where he then picks up his lost knife, and comes up to Erica snarling. She screams as Hyde continues to run and exit through Molly’s kitchen with the two guards following. Willard doesn’t continue with the chase and returns to Erica.
WILLARD (Cont.)
”Very good thinking Madam. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to handle him alone. The Guards will catch him. That you can
feel sure of.”
Willard can see that Erica is quite fatigued and breathing heavily.
WILLARD (Cont.)
”Are you alight Miss?”
ERICA”Yes, I believe I am… I can’t believe that no one thought of the possibility that Hyde would take the secret passage yet
again.”
WILLARD (Becomes interested in this and thinks out loud)
”Secret passage?”
ERICA”Yes. There is a passage from Molly’s Kitchen to the
Library.”
WILLARD”Why would anyone need a secret passage from the Kitchen to
the Library?”
ERICA”Don’t ask me. I just work her sir… You should ask Master
Jekyll.”
WILLARD“Well, I’m sure that Inspector Haggis already has and that
reminds me…”
The two guards suddenly return. Willard forgets the thought that he was about to finish and goes over to the Guards. They look exhausted to him. Willard looks extremely angry to see that they have returned without Hyde.
WILLARD (Cont.)
”Where is he?”
GUARD #1“He got away sir.”
WILLARD (Showing tension as he sighs with anger)”He even got passed the other guards?”
GUARD #2“Yes sir. He went running out the back door and ran around the house to the front and crashed into the guards out there. We chased him for several blocks and he just kept
going.”
ERICA”And these were your best men?”
WILLARD”I’m sorry about all this Madam. Apparently we have slackers
within the guard.”
ERICA”It’s unbelievable. Even if Hyde did take over Utterson’s
body, there’s no way that he’d be that smart.”
Willard looks at Erica disapprovingly, and then back at the guards.
WILLARD“Alright! Both of you get back out there! This will come up
on your reviews! However, I now have to find Inspector Haggis and the others to inform them of the situation.”
GUARD #1“Yes sir!”
GUARD #2“Yes sir!”
The Guards exit out the back door. Willard turns back to Erica.
WILLARD”Take care of yourself. You’ll be all right. I promise you.”
Willard leaves Erica there by herself.
ERICA”Promises, promises, promises! That’s all I’ve heard all
night!”
Erica sits down at the desk.
ERICA (Cont.)
”I guess that’s enough fun for one night… perhaps I should ask for a raise.”
CUT TO:
3 EXT. LONDON CITY STREETS- NIGHT 3
The streets of London don’t seem to be crowded at all. There is fog everywhere (obviously). Suddenly two ladies come around a corner. They are the TOWN GOSSIPS that were at Molly’s Kitchen not to long ago.
LADY #1“So, I told Linda about the play last night and…”
LADY #2“You told her about the play without me?”
LADY #1
“Well, I was going to get you to come with me… so we could tell her together, but I couldn’t find you anywhere. Where
were you anyway?”
LADY #2“Well, I’d heard some very interesting rumors from my other friends downtown. Apparently, that awful Hyde fellow is now, not just going after theatre women, but he’s also going for
common women like us now!”
LADY #1“I guess he finally got tired of that blond bombshell of
his. Carla Gambetti thinks she’s so much better then everyone else. She just makes me so sick.”
Suddenly Alan Hyde comes around a corner and runs toward the town gossips. The ladies scream as Hyde runs up to them and starts growling and snarling at them. He circles around them while he continues to growl and snarl. He pulls out the knife from his pocket.
LADY #1 (Cont.)
“Stay away from us you beast!”
LADY #2“Go away!”
Lady #2 takes her purse and starts hitting Hyde with it. Hyde tries to slash at them, but with the purses coming from both directions, it is too much for him. So Hyde leaves still snarling.
LADY #2 (Cont.)
“That must’ve been that horrible Mr. Hyde.”
LADY #1“But that didn’t look like the same Hyde we saw at the theatre two nights ago. Quickly! We must go inform Miss
Molly on what we saw. Come on!”
Lady #1 grabs Lady #2 by the hand and pulls her along.
LADY #2“I told you he was going after other women now.”
The town gossips leave the area and turn around a corner just as Haggis, Jekyll, Syble, Kryrovich, Molly, and Poole all come around a different corner. The six people are looking about, ready to fight. They are all carrying weapons of some kind. Poole with a serving tray, Molly with a rolling pen, Kryrovich with a shovel, Jekyll with a cane, Syble with a candlestick, and Haggis is leading with his pipe. Several LONDON CITIZENS pass along the way. The clock tower rings that it is midnight.
JEKYLL (Looking at his pocket watch)
”Never thought I’d be out this late.”
MOLLY”And I never thought I’d be stupid enough to be out at all,
after what happened with the little hot-crossed buns incident and all, I just…”
HAGGIS”Quite! Keep your eyes peeled for anything. We must find Mr.
Hyde.”
Haggis stops a couple of citizens that are hand in hand.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
“Excuse me, but have you seen a Mr. John Utterson that might be also going by the name of Mr. Hyde? He’s about yay high
with evil looking features.”
Jekyll starts moving like what Hyde’s character is like. The couple are very frightened by him and move away. This also frightens Syble and the others as well, for they fear that Hyde has come back out of Jekyll again. However, Haggis still shows his gratitude to the couple and speaks to them.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
”No? Well thanks anyway. Have a good evening.”
The couple leave the area staring at the strange people that are accompanying Haggis. Jekyll tries to calm the others down and make them realize that he was just showing the couple what they were dealing with.
TWO TOURISTS come around the corner next looking around at all of the beautiful buildings.
TOURIST #1“So, where are we going to shop at this evening?”
TOURIST #2“I don’t know. How about you pick today?”
While the tourists are walking, everybody, including Haggis, is talking amongst himself or herself and Haggis doesn’t notice the tourists going by. Poole then sees them go by and hits Haggis with his serving tray to get him to turn and see the tourists moving away.
HAGGIS”Excuse me there! Have you seen a Mr. John Utterson lurking around these parts? He might have told you that his name was
Mr. Hyde though.”
TOURIST #1“I’m sorry sir, but we’re tourists and don’t know…”
Suddenly Hyde comes rushing past everyone snarling and showing off his knife. He squeezes through the two tourists as they scream in horror and back away from the knife coming toward them.
HAGGIS”There he goes! Get him!”
The team of six goes running after Hyde exiting the stage while the two tourists stand in horror. Kryrovich stops just for a second to talk to the tourists.
KRYROVICH“Perhaps you should’ve gone to Italy.”
Kryrovich then catches up to the others.
TOURIST #2 (As they move away)
”That’s exactly what I told you before we came here! We would’ve had so much…”
Just as the two tourists leave, Ian Willard comes around running around a corner looking for HAGGIS and the others.
WILLARD (Looking at his pocket watch)
”Oh, dear. I have to find them. Trevor will be needing me.”
Willard sighs and looks at the clock tower.
WILLARD (Cont.)
”My watch is off.”
Willard starts fixing his watch’s time, but then remembers what he’s supposed to be doing.
WILLARD (Cont.)
“Stay on task Ian. Where could they have gone?”
Willard stops a LOVELY LADY that seems to be looking back a lot, obviously noticing Haggis and the others chasing after Hyde.
WILLARD (Cont.)
“Excuse me Miss. You wouldn’t have happened to saw the good Inspector Haggis would you?”
LOVELY LADY“Why yes. I saw him and five other strange people go off in
that direction chasing after some horrifying man.”
WILLARD”Thank you Miss. Please have a good evening.”
LOVELY LADY”Same to you sir.”
Willard runs off in the same direction as Haggis and the others. The Lovely Lady leaves in the opposite direction.
CUT TO:
4 INT. MOLLY’S KITCHEN- NIGHT 4
Camera shows Erica Reilly making some tea in Molly’s kitchen. Guard #1 is sitting in a chair at the table drinking some tea that has already been made.
ERICA”Do you like the tea?”
Guard #1 nods.
ERICA (Cont.)
“I’m not as good at making it as Molly, but I try.”
GUARD #1“It’s quite good dear lady. Could I have some more?”
ERICA“Sure.”
Erica pours some more tea and then sighs.
ERICA (Cont.)
“I just wish I knew what was going on out there. I hope the others are all right. I understand why Ms. Syble didn’t want to be left here. Like her, I’m very worried about my dear
master and the others. This is way too much stress.”
Erica joins the Guard by sitting down beside him, at the table.
GUARD #1“Don’t worry, Miss. With Inspector Haggis and Dr. Willard leading the team, they’ll survive anything. You must have
faith in Scotland Yard. We always get our man, or I guess in this case men.”
ERICA”I sure hope so… But I’m not so sure after you lost Hyde
back there!”
GUARD #1“Miss, we did the best we could. We haven’t been trained to do marathon runs. Just keep your trust in us. We will make
sure to watch that secret passage from now on.”
The backdoor’s bell suddenly rings. Erica stands up and goes over to answer it. She unlocks and opens the door. The town gossips come walking in.
ERICA”Well, hello ladies. I’m sorry, but Molly isn’t here right
now.”
LADY #1“Well, where is she?”
ERICA”She’s out helping Scotland Yard to find the monster that
used to be known as John Utterson.”
LADY #2“Oh my! We just passed an awful man on the streets that was
trying to flirt with all of the ladies that passed by!”
LADY #1“Why he even tried to do that to me! This fellow couldn’t
have been Edward Hyde. He only went after the theatre performers. This thing will go after anyone.”
ERICA”That’s John Utterson for ya.”
GUARD #1“So you didn’t see Dr. Jekyll or any of the others out
there?”
LADY #2“Oh, we were too frightened to look at anyone else. We
rushed over here as fast as we could, so we could warn poor Ms. Molly. I guess we just missed her. I really hate that.”
ERICA”Well, I’ll be sure to tell her that you stopped by.”
LADY #1“That would be lovely of you.”
ERICA”Think nothing of it.”
Erica starts to walk back toward her chair and the town gossips start to leave, but Erica turns back around realizing that she’s she forgotten something.
ERICA (Cont.)
“Oh, Molly would strangle me if I didn’t ask you this, but… would you like a popover?”
The town gossips start giggling.
LADY #2“That’s very nice of you, but we must get home. Perhaps next
time.”
The town gossips leave and Erica locks the door back. She then returns to the kitchen table and sits back down.
ERICA”That creature is even more revolting then the first Mr.
Hyde. You know what I think?”
Guard #1 looks up from his tea.
ERICA (Cont.)
“I think those two are brothers.”
Guard #1 laughs.
ERICA (Cont.)
“What’s so funny?”
GUARD #1“Oh, nothing. That just seems very unlikely my dear lady.
You have quite an imagination.”
Guard #1 gets up and unlocks and exits the door. As he’s walking out, he’s talking to himself.
GUARD #1 (Cont.)
“Brothers… what a silly thing to say…”
ERICA”No one takes me seriously anymore!”
Erica starts drinking some tea in anger.
CUT TO:
5 INT. LONDON ALLEY- NIGHT 5
The Lovely Lady that was talking to Dr. Willard earlier is now walking down a dark alley. She seems to be walking rather normally, because this is the direction that she takes every evening to get home.
However a dark shadow comes out from behind some obstacles in the alley. It’s Hyde. He stalks slowly after the Lovely Lady. She turns around hearing noises. Hyde ducks behind something so she can’t see him. Lovely Lady is very curious and moves back down the alley, toward the sounds.
LOVELY LADY”Hello… Is anyone there? Hello… Hello?”
Suddenly Hyde jumps out of from behind the structure he is hiding behind with his knife in an attack position and starts toward Lovely Lady, whom screams. She drops a scarf that she’s carrying and starts to run away from Hyde. However, Hyde starts after her and grabs hold of the Lovely lady, placing the knife around her throat.
HYDE”You’re coming with me, my pretty!”
Hyde takes Lovely Lady away as she continues to scream.
Just as they leave, Jekyll, Haggis Syble, Kryrovich, Molly, and Poole come running through the same alley.
MOLLY”Hello?”
POOLE”Whoever it was is gone now.”
Haggis is drawn to the ground where he sees the scarf that the Lovely Lady was holding. He picks it up and examines it.
HAGGIS”It’s a clue!”
JEKYLL”What do you…”
The entrance of Dr. Willard, who comes running up to them all panting, interrupts Jekyll.
WILLARD (Showing excitement and exhaustion)
“Thank goodness I found you. How goes the search?”
Haggis crosses over to Willard and shakes his hand.
HAGGIS“As I was just pointing out, I’ve found a clue… Willard,
take a note.”
WILLARD”Yes sir.”
Willard takes out a note pad and pen.
WILLARD (Cont.)
“What kind of clue Trevor… I mean Inspector?”
HAGGIS (Looking at WILLARD suspiciously)
“This.”
Haggis holds up the scarf to all seven people. They all stand in awe at the clue that is shown before them and may also say “oh, ah.” to go along with it.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
“We heard a woman scream in this alley.”
WILLARD”I heard the scream as well, hoping that you’d already be here. Do you believe that this was a Mr. Hyde attack?”
HAGGIS (Still examining the scarf)
“Yes. This must have been the work of John Utterson’s alter ago. Willard, take a note.”
WILLARD”Yes sir.”
MOLLY”You’re missing one crucial point Inspector.”
SYBLE”What would he be missing Molly?”
MOLLY”What happened to the woman?”
HAGGIS”I’m not sure if I or anyone else will be able to answer
that question until we’ve found Mr. Hyde.”
SYBLE”Do you believe that he could holding that poor lady
captive?”
HAGGIS”There’s a very good possibility of it.”
KRYROVICH”But there’s a chance of saying her right?”
HAGGIS”I don’t deal in chance Ms. Kryrovich.”
KRYROVICH”Well, I just want Hyde caught. The dog drug something of
his into my garden.”
WILLARD”What?”
KRYROVICH”Oh, nothing. I just found a broken cane in my garden
yesterday evening.”
HAGGIS“You found it… or used it.”
Syble suddenly looks up scared to know the answer to this question.
KRYROVICH (Coming forward angry)
“Are you trying to imply that I attacked Sir George Carew?”
HAGGIS”Well, it is really suspicious that you would have that
evidence for so long and yet never hand it over to Scotland Yard.”
KRYROVICH”I just found it in my garden!”
Haggis starts to back away from the lady for she is now screaming at him.
KRYROVICH (Cont.)
“The dog brought it there!”
HAGGIS (Moving forward again.)
“Do you expect me to believe that a dog was the one that put Sir Carew in the hospital?”
KRYROVICH”Well, you can’t expect me to continue to listen to you
blaming me for something I didn’t do! I will not stand for this!”
HAGGIS”There is good reason to consider you the attacker! You were
the only other person that actually wanted to drink the chemical besides Mr. Utterson!”
KRYROVICH”That was an honest mistake!”
JEKYLL”Will both of you please stop this? You’re acting like Syble
and Carla.”
SYBLE”Excuse you!”
JEKYLL”I’m sorry darling, but we know good and well that Ms.
Kryrovich may be a little on the weird side, but she would
never try and attack someone on purpose. Besides, we should all have realized by now that when Hyde was in control of my body, he was the one that caused that accident to happen.”
KRYROVICH“Thank you, Master Jekyll.”
JEKYLL”Now Inspector, I know you and Dr. Willard know what you’re
doing, but you have to realize that all of this running around is getting us no where. We have to stop and think about where the next place is that John will strike. Then, we’ll have a better chance of catching him. So, are there
any ideas?”
POOLE”He could try to go to the stores that I went to find the
chemicals that you needed sir. Hyde seems to constantly need those chemicals to stay in control of the body.”
HAGGIS“How do you know this?”
POOLE”I’ve noticed it. It’s not too hard to miss.”
HAGGIS”Did you tell Mr. Utterson, before this recent incident,
where exactly you got the chemicals?”
POOLE”No. All I said was that I’d been all over London trying to find the exact chemical that the master needed. It would
take him hours to find the right place.”
HAGGIS”Hmm… Willard, take a note.”
WILLARD”Yes sir.”
HAGGIS”Time is something that this Hyde fellow doesn’t have. He seems to be a very fast paced individual. He’ll find the
best way to get his plan solved quickly. That means he’ll go to someone that might know the location of some chemicals.”
WILLARD”Then, that would lead him back to the house!”
HAGGIS”No, Dr. Willard. It would lead him directly to the
theatre.”
JEKYLL”Carla! Carla knows where to get the chemical!”
HAGGIS”Exactly! He’ll go to her and disturb the performance. Then,
he’ll kidnap her.”
SYBLE”Well, I think the ugly thing deserves it.”
HAGGIS”Ms. Carew, you need to halt your anger for Ms. Gambetti for
now and focus on the task at hand. I believe things have gotten worse then I’d expected. Mrs. Poole, Molly, Ms. Kryrovich; please return to the house and wait with Ms. Reilly and the guards there. We’ll need some people there
waiting to stop Hyde if he were to take Carla there. In the mean time, I’ll go with Dr. Willard, Dr. Jekyll, and Ms. Carew to the theatre to try and stop Hyde from taking Ms.
Gambetti. We don’t have anytime to waste. I believe the game is at hand. Let’s move!”
The seven people split into the two separate teams and move off in opposite directions of the alleyway. Kryrovich, Molly, and Poole go toward the main street area where the group originally came from. Haggis, Willard, Jekyll, and Syble go in the other direction away from the housekeepers.
POOLE”What happens if Hyde gets back to the house before the
master does?”
KRYROVICH”Don’t worry. I’ll take care of him if it comes down to
that.”
MOLLY”Ya know, she’s got a point.”
The three housekeepers turn a corner and move away from the alley.
CUT TO:
6 INT. THEATRE- NIGHT 6
The lights on the THEATRE STAGE are dark as the people in the audience applaud for the show to begin.
Carla Gambetti, SARAH, and AMANDA enter the stage. The lights come on as Carla and the others begin some type of performance that can be decided later on.
During the performance Hyde enters the stage area with the Lovely Lady in his clutches at knifepoint. The audience can see them, but Carla, Sarah, and Amanda are oblivious to their presence. Hyde moves behind Carla and grabs her, letting go of the Lovely Lady at the same time. Carla screams in delight at this surprise from Hyde as Sarah and Amanda try to stop the man from taking Carla.
HYDE”What is with you people?”
Hyde takes his knife and tries to slash at Sarah and Amanda. They scream and move back to where the lovely lady is. The lovely lady continues to stand back so that she isn’t taken again.
SARAH“Let go of her you fool!”
AMANDA“We’re trying to perform here you rude man!”
CARLA”Ladies, don’t you see that this is the unbelievably hansom
Mr. Hyde?”
LOVELY LADY”I don’t think you want to go with him Miss!”
Carla looks at the Lovely Lady strangely and then turns to Hyde disgusted.
CARLA“Who is this Alan? I thought I was your girl?”
HYDE”She was what I used to get in here. I needed some insurance
that I’d make it in without being captured.”
CARLA (Smiling largely)
“Alan you are a sneaky one you devil you?”
HYDE”Yes my dear, but now we must be off. I have a mob of snobs
coming after me.”
CARLA”I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth darling.”
SARAH“Don’t go off with that monster Carla! And what of our
performance? These people are paying good money!”
CARLA (Looking out at the audience)
“They all think that this is part of the performance. Please just go with it dears. I’ll be back later.
Hyde and Carla start to run off of the stage, but stop when they hear Haggis, Willard, Jekyll, and Syble enter the stage running right toward the center of it.
HAGGIS”Stop Mr. Utterson!”
HYDE”John Utterson is no more! Alan Hyde now lives!”
Hyde runs off with Carla whom is now giggling. Haggis, Jekyll, and Willard run after them going past the Lovely Lady, Sarah, and Amanda. Syble starts to, but stops where the three other ladies are and looks around at the audience in the theatre.
SYBLE”Don’t worry ladies and gentlemen… We’re professionals.”
JEKYLL (Yelling as he runs back on the stage)
“Syble darling.”
Jekyll runs toward her and helps her along.
JEKYLL (Cont.)
“Come along dear.”
Sarah and Amanda don’t know what to believe about this, but they then decide to start doing their performance again and the Lovely Lady also joins in for now she has just realized that she is in the spotlight and wants to be a part of something for once in her life.
CUT TO:
7 EXT. LONDON CITY STREETS- NIGHT 7
Camera shows Jekyll, Syble, Haggis, and Willard chasing after Hyde and Carla as they move through the dark and busy streets. Jekyll and the others are having problems keeping up or even seeing Hyde and Carla running up ahead of them. Pretty soon, they completely lose sight of the couple.
Jekyll and Syble stop running out of breath.
HAGGIS”Hurry! We can still catch them!”
JEKYLL”It’s useless. They’re just too fast. We’ll have to go back to my home and just hope that they’ll eventually show up
there.”
WILLARD”What makes you so sure that they’ll return to the house?”
JEKYLL”The final stage. Don’t you think that Hyde will want to
show off his ultimate transformation once he gets a hold of the chemical that he needs.”
HAGGIS”My God! You’re right Dr. Jekyll. We’d better get back. Come
on!”
The four people start running in a different direction and back to Jekyll’s home.
CUT TO:
8 INT. DRAWING ROOM- NIGHT 8
ERICA REILLY is pacing back and forth in the Drawing Room. The two guards are standing in the room looking at the lady oddly.
GUARD #2“Don’t worry miss. I’m sure they’ll all be all right.”
ERICA”Why do you people keep telling me that? You’re just like
broken records. The master and the others have been gone for too long. I don’t understand what’s taking them so long.”
Kryrovich, Poole, and Molly suddenly enter from the kitchen.
ERICA (Cont. and showing a slight smile)
“Where are the others?”
MOLLY”They went to find Ms. Gambetti.”
ERICA”Why would they need to find her?”
POOLE”Hyde may be trying to get to her. Since Mr. Hyde didn’t know where Carla’s performance would be, he had to search all over London to find her. I just hope we realized the
pattern before it was too late.”
MOLLY”Don’t worry I’m positive that they’ll be able to take that
evil thing out of the game!”
POOLE”What makes you so sure of that?”
MOLLY
(Seeming caught for some reason)”Well, I just know that they will.”
POOLE“I’m sure.”
Jekyll, Syble, Haggis, and Willard enter from the front entrance.
POOLE (Cont.)
“Did you find him?”
WILLARD”Mrs. Poole, if we had found him he would be here with us
now.”
HAGGIS“Willard! Don’t be so rude!”
WILLARD”Sorry… Trevor… Inspector… sir.”
HAGGIS (Shaking head in dismay and sighs)
“Now, Mrs. Poole, to answer your question more nicely, we tried to track Alan Hyde and Ms. Gambetti, but they were much faster. I can’t understand where all of Hyde’s energy
might be coming from. It makes absolutely no sense.”
KRYROVICH”Could Carla be working with Hyde on this caper?”
HAGGIS“It’s very possible, but I’d like to hope that she wasn’t.”
SYBLE”I hope she is.”
HAGGIS (Sighing)
“Ms. Carew… What have I been trying to tell you? I understand that you’re very upset that your fiancé likes to
canoodle with other people, but please stop.”
SYBLE”Well, I never in my…”
HAGGIS”We have to keep focused on stopping Hyde, Mrs. Carew. You need to put aside your feelings about Ms. Gambetti and stay
with us on this.”
Haggis moves toward Erica and the two guards.
HAGGIS (Cont.)
“What happened while we were gone?”
ERICA”That monster didn’t leave when you did, sir. He was still
here trying to get me! Thankfully Dr. Willard showed up when he did. Oh, and Molly, your two lovies stopped by. They told me something about Hyde going after all of the woman on the
streets or something like that.”
MOLLY”Well, I hate that I missed my lovies.”
ERICA”They’ll probably return tomorrow.”
KRYROVICH”The dog didn’t stop by did it?”
ERICA”No… why?”
KRYROVICH”That dog still has a meeting with a pot of boiling oil.”
HAGGIS (Looking at Kryrovich very strangely)
“Well now… All right, it’s time that we start putting this puzzle together. We must figure out where the brother of
Edward Hyde has taken Carla Gambetti.”ERICA
(Turning to Guard #1)
“That’ll teach ya not to laugh at me.”
GUARD #1“Sorry Miss, I just didn’t…”
MOLLY”I say we retrace our steps.”
WILLARD”How do you mean Ms. Winthropston?”
POOLE”How do you know her last…”
MOLLY”Well, to retrace our steps, we need to go back through all of the events that transpired during this short amount of
time.”
WILLARD”Where should we start?”
MOLLY”Let’s start at the very beginning.”
Haggis pulls out some paper and a pen. Willard notices and does the same thing as well.
HAGGIS”And that would be?”
MOLLY”A performance that two of Ms. Gambetti’s ladies were doing. If I remember what my lovies said was going on that night,
they were doing a dance number.”
Molly starts dancing around and singing “Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend.” This begins to irritate everyone.
HAGGIS (Stopping Molly from her dancing)
“Molly! We get the point. Please continue.”
MOLLY
“Right. Now during this performance, I went out to get some hot-cross buns and saw Sir George Carew being attacked with
the mighty cane of Edward Hyde.”
Molly grabs Jekyll’s cane from out of this hands and starts beating Willard with it.
WILLARD”Molly! That hurts!”
MOLLY (Stopping)“Sorry.”
HAGGIS”She’s done the same thing to me. Just pay it no mind. She’s
in her own zone now.”
MOLLY”So, at that point I screamed and ran.”
Molly starts running and screaming to the other end of the Drawing Room. Everyone else follows her.
Molly then runs past everyone and grabs a hold of Ms. Kryrovich and drags her toward the kitchen. Everyone else follows.
CUT TO:
9 INT. KITCHEN- NIGHT 9
MOLLY”Next, I was sitting in the Kitchen when Ms. Kryrovich shows
up telling me about the dog destroying her garden.”
Molly then starts portraying how those events transpired.
MOLLY (Cont.)
“She said ‘I shall boil him in oil and then I shall…’ Well, I can’t remember every exact word of what she said.”
KRYROVICH”It’s probably a good thing that you didn’t.”
MOLLY”You’re right Mary.”
Molly then stands and runs out of the kitchen. Everyone follows quickly.CUT TO:
10 INT. DRAWING ROOM- NIGHT 10
MOLLY (Cont.)
“Then the doorbell rang. Ding-Dong! And Mrs. Poole went to answer it, but was stopped by me when I was hit by a falling flour sack, and I started talking about my special popovers
and a little tickle warm slap thumb.”
Molly then hits Poole on the behind.
POOLE”Molly!”
Molly runs back to the front entrance.
MOLLY”Then Mr. Utterson was let in and he talks to Mrs. Poole about Mr. Hyde being in the Laboratory. Poole, of course,
liked to rub it in that Hyde had a key to the Laboratory and he didn’t.”
POOLE“Shut up Molly!”
MOLLY”Then, Dr. Jekyll shows up and they talk for awhile about
who knows what.”
JEKYLL”We were trying to discuss the revisions that I made to my
will.”
MOLLY”And at one point Ms. Gambetti shows up.”
Molly starts walking and acting like Carla as she goes over to Jekyll and tries to flirt with him.
SYBLE”Stop that this instant!”
MOLLY“Sorry… Now she just wants to talk to the master and…”
SYBLESo Henry, you had her in here while I was in the Music Room
waiting for you to return! You have some nerve!”
JEKYLL (Whispering to Molly)
”Molly! Stop it with all of the Carla stuff!”
MOLLY”Sorry sir… So after awhile Mr. Utterson leaves and Syble
comes in from the Music Room.
Molly leans forward to Haggis and Willard to whisper.
MOLLY (Cont.)
“She had to wait a little too long to do some more canoodling!”
SYBLE”I heard that!”
MOLLY”So Syble and the master are now flirting in here, but after
awhile, Dr. Jekyll starts to change into Hyde and has to dash off.”
Molly dashes off toward the lab, but stops and crouches down. Erica walks over to check on Molly when she jumps up in a Mr. Hyde stance. Erica screams and backs away.
MOLLY”However, he’s too late and becomes the evil Mr. Hyde. He
then grabs Ms. Syble by the throat and she starts screaming.”
Molly pretends to grab Syble’s neck just as Hyde had done before. Syble screams.
MOLLY”Then Mrs. Poole comes running in with her huge serving tray
and beats some sense into Mr. Hyde.”
Molly grabs the serving tray from Poole and starts beating her with it.
POOLE (Trying to get Molly to stop)
“Well, I had to stop her from screaming!”
MOLLY”That’s true.”
SYBLE”Well, you’d scream too if that thing had you by the
throat!”
WILLARD”What happened next Molly?”
MOLLY“Then is when I actually saw the attack that happened to Syble’s poor father and came running back into the Drawing Room and I told Ms. Syble and Mrs. Poole all about it, and
well, Ms. Syble faints.”
Molly fakes a faint and falls into Poole’s arms.
POOLE”Molly… stop it with your stupid antics!”
Poole gets Molly out of her arms.
MOLLY”After that, poor Ms. Syble just stayed in her room while Mrs. Poole and I were trying to figure out what to do.
That’s when the doorbell rang and I jumped into Mrs. Poole’s arms.”
Molly jumps into Poole’s arms. Poole then drops her. Molly runs up to the door and crouches down into her position.
MOLLY (Cont.)
“That’s when Mr. Utterson comes in, soon followed by yourself Inspector and you Dr. Willard.”
HAGGIS”Yes, I remember.”
MOLLY”You then revealed the evidence of the cane to Mr. Utterson
and asked Mrs. Poole, Ms. Kryrovich, and myself our questions. Then, you, Dr. Willard, and Mrs. Poole go off to
the Laboratory like this.”
Molly does the “walk this way” impersonation.
MOLLY (Cont.)
“Mr. Utterson and Jekyll then start talking about Hyde and the poor master breaks down in tears.”
Molly buries her head in Dr. Willard’s shoulder. Willard pats her head.
JEKYLL”How did you know that?”
MOLLY (Removing her head from Willard’s shoulder)
“It’s my duty to know, sir.”
JEKYLL”It’s like I have a spy in my own house.”
MOLLY“That’s because I work for Scotland Yard with Inspector
Haggis and Dr. Willard.”
JEKYLL”What?”
POOLE”Are you bloody serious?”
SYBLE”That can’t be. Is she speaking the truth Inspector?”
HAGGIS (Shaking his head)
“Yes. Ever since the strange Edward Hyde showed up, we at Scotland Yard have been very worried about everyone in this household. We had to have someone on the inside of the house at all times. This was so that we could get the information
we needed to bring this Hyde fellow down.”
JEKYLL”And to think you know someone.”
KRYROVICH”Well, what happens next?”
MOLLY”Glad you got us back on topic Ms. Kryrovich. That’s what I like about you. Sometime in here I have a meeting with my
two gossip friends and they tell me about what happened just minutes before Sir George Carew was attacked. Ms. Kryrovich, you and I talk again as well about the trap that you set up
in your garden.”
POOLE”Then our dear Ms. Reilly tells us what she feels about
Hyde.”
MOLLY”Right.”
ERICA”Yes. That Hyde is a true monster!”
MOLLY”Now this is the point where everything goes crazy. Syble tells the master that she won’t forgive him and leaves.”
Molly starts to walk off like Syble did before when she was angry.
SYBLE”I wasn’t walking like that. That’s not very proper.”
MOLLY”Well, you were… And then, Mr. Utterson hears about the chemical that Mrs. Poole has been looking for all over London. Afterwards, Carla shows up and talks to both Dr.
Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.”
HAGGIS”Ahah! Now the uncontrollability begins!”
MOLLY“Exactly! Finally Ms. Syble shows up and figures out about the radio and Hyde comes out of Jekyll for the last time.”
Molly starts fighting with herself just like Jekyll did before. She is rolling all over the floor until she finally gets behind the couch. She then stands back up.
MOLLY (Cont.)
“The true trouble here begins with Carla bringing the chemical. Mr. Utterson uses it and becomes Mr. Alan Hyde,
the so-called brother of Edward Hyde.”
HAGGIS”Well that leads us to what has transpired in the past few
hours. Where could Alan Hyde be?”
A voice is heard from the Laboratory entrance.
HYDE“I’m right here Inspector!”
Hyde says the following lines while he enters with Carla directly in front of him.
HYDEYou’re also too late! I now have the chemical that I need to
complete my ultimate transformation. Alan Hyde will be forever, and John Utterson will be no more.”
Hyde is holding the knife in his hands and it’s on Carla’s throat. Carla is holding the vile chemical in her hands while they shake with fear. Hyde seems to be almost losing control of Utterson’s body again as the two of them are struggling. Hyde and Carla move forward together. This causes the people to move away from Hyde. This leaves Poole, Kryrovich, and Erica all standing behind the desk and chair. Haggis, Molly, and Willard are standing in front of the couch. Syble and Jekyll are standing off to the side. The guards start to run for Hyde as soon as he stops just before the entrance to Molly’s kitchen, but stop when Hyde begins to talk in his very controlitive and evil voice.
HYDE
(Cont.)”Don’t take another step, unless you want Ms. Gambetti to be
hurt!”
CARLA (Trying to seem extremely frightened about this)“Stay back you fools! You have to believe him!”
While Carla talks, Ms. Kryrovich is stepping behind Hyde slowly. Hyde is unaware of this. The guards still try to inch forward.
CARLA (Cont.)
“Don’t you idiots understand me? Stay back! It may look like we’re together, but he’s making me do this! You must stay
back!”
Ms. Kryrovich then strikes at Hyde and knocks Carla out of Hyde’s hands. Carla falls to the ground with the chemical still in her hands. Hyde runs for the Laboratory but SIR GEORGE CAREW enters from that door and over powers him from getting through with his cane, and he knocks the knife out of Hyde’s hands with it.
SYBLE”Father!”
HYDE”Get away from me!”
GEORGE”So it was you that attacked me out on the streets! I’ve
been in the hospital for several days now trying to recover from my wounds; just so I could have my vengeance placed on
you! Now you will pay!
George starts to go after Hyde, but Haggis and Willard hold him back.
GEORGE”Let me go you fools! I must have my revenge!”
WILLARD”This isn’t the time or place for you to be doing this sir!
Just let Scotland Yard deal with it!”
SYBLE”Father! Please stay back father!”
Hyde is now coming quickly up behind Syble.
GEORGE”Syble! Please get out of the way dear!”
JEKYLL”Syble!”
HYDE (Grabs for Syble and takes hold of her)
Now I’ve got you!”
SYBLE”Let me go you monster!”
JEKYLL”John! Let her go! John!”
Jekyll pulls Syble away from Hyde and holds the poor lady close. Hyde starts to back away now realizing the strength of numbers. Hyde and Utterson start struggling with each other once again. The others notice this and take the opportunity to help Utterson.
JEKYLL (Cont.)
“John, you have to stop him! You must get control of yourself again. Don’t let Hyde take over you! If I could
overpower him, I know you can!”
UTTERSON/HYDE“My name isn’t John! I’m Alan Hyde!”
Hyde and Utterson struggle some more. Utterson begins to speak.
UTTERSON”Help me Henry! Please!”
Jekyll moves to help, but is stopped short by another personality change.
HYDE”No! You can’t stop me! I, the magnificent Alan Hyde, have
transcended the ladder of human capabilities. I am Invincible!”
Another change.
UTTERSON”Oh, leave me you vile beast!”
A fight begins and screams explode sporadically as Utterson/Hyde continues to fight with himself, crawling around on the floor while everyone else reacts to this fighting. Hyde finally seems to have gained control again as he stands and snarls at everyone.
HYDE”You will never be rid of me Utterson! I’m stronger then you
could ever be!”
JEKYLL”No! You are a stronger man then Hyde, John… You’re my
attorney… and my friend.”
HYDE”I won’t listen to this! You can’t make him come back! I am
stronger then all of you combined!”
SYBLE”You must snap out of it John!”
POOLE”I may dislike you sometimes Mr. Utterson, but you must come
back! You’re better then that Mr. Hyde any day!”
HAGGIS”Come on Mr. Utterson, return to us! Everyone say it! Return
to us Mr. Utterson! Return to us Mr. Utterson!”
Everyone on stage continues to say this over and over again, while Hyde tries to cover his ears to drown the sound. Hyde yells “NO!” and “STOP IT!” constantly while the two entities battle with one another and hear the noises of the people surrounding them. Hyde gets down on the floor and starts rolling around in pain and agony. Hyde suddenly screams at the top of his lungs, and passes out.
Molly and Poole start to move forward to look at Hyde lying on the ground.
MOLLY”Is he dead?”
POOLE”I’m not sure.”
The two still inch forward, when Hyde’s body, moving around in spasms, startles them both. Molly screams at this and jumps into Poole’s arms. Poole drops her and they both move back.
WILLARD (Showing excitement)
“He’s coming around! Look!”
Everyone in the room show looks of terror, not knowing which character would stand up. Utterson starts to get up as he dusts his cloths off.
UTTERSON”Wha… Wha… What happened?”
Everyone sighs with relief as they realize that it’s Utterson that has returned.
JEKYLL”You became what I was.”
Jekyll starts to walk with Syble toward Utterson. Jekyll shakes his hand.
JEKYLL (Cont.)
”You became Mr. Hyde.”
SYBLE”We helped to restore you.”
JEKYLL“Good has once again triumphed over evil.”
Jekyll and Syble hug. George Carew comes over and takes Syble’s hand. Everyone else sighs with relief for it looks
like this story has finally come to a close and they can all go on living their lives.
However, everyone starts hearing evil laughing from all around the room as they finally find the source being Carla Gambetti as she stands up holding the now empty vile chemical.
SYBLE”Oh, my goodness! She must’ve taken all of the chemical!”
HAGGIS”Everyone, keep away from Ms. Gambetti!”
JEKYLL”Carla… are you alright?”
CARLA/HYDE”HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! I NEED MORE!”
Everyone in the room screams as CARLA/HYDE starts to run for everyone in the Drawing Room.
