LITITZ - So you’ve been wondering what’s been going on with the Reitz fam- ily this past year. Well, here’s a snapshot: FOR KICKS - Hannah played two more seasons of soccer, with Daddy as the coach for the Orange Crushing Tigers and the Tangerine Cheetahs. Her game has improved, particularly on defense. Known for her extremely powerful leg, she even scored a goal from midfield! WELCOME, COUSIN! - Hannah and Dylan are preparing for the arrival of their new cousin. Lisa’s sister Jamie and her husband Kevin are expecting their first baby. The due date is one day before Hannah’s birthday in March! SCARY - From the “Let’s Not Ever Do That Again, Shall We?” Files... On Feb. 29, Daddy joined Dylan and Mommy at Toddler Gym in Lititz. But just as Daddy was leaving to head back to work, he was called back to the building. Dylan lost consciousness after he tripped and fell. He came to after about 2 minutes, but paramedics recommended a trip to the Emergency Room (Lancaster General, of course). So the little guy was strapped in a guerney and taken on his first ambulance ride. There he was bundled up for a CT Scan, which revealed that he was fine. Once he saw Thomas on TV in his room & he calmed down, we knew he’d be OK. BEACH BOY - After a one-year hiatus, we returned to the sandy shores of Ocean City, MD in August. It was Dylan’s first trip there, and he loved it! We stayed at an oceanfront condo and enjoyed breakfasts on the balcony (Dunkin’ Donuts just a short walk away!), a day at Splash Moun- tain water park, riding the rides, playing in the sand and miniature golfing. GREAT-GRANDPA - We were sad- dened by the loss of Great-Grandpa Reitz in January. Rick delivered the eulogy at his funeral, during which time we learned something few of us knew... that during WWII, Great-Grandpa went to the Vatican and met the Pope for a blessing! Great- Grandma is doing well and now resides at Landis Homes, south of Lititz. HALF DEVIL? - Halloween was a blast yet again, with Dylan trick-or-treating as his favorite “Thomas the Tank Engine” and Hannah as “Half Angel, Half Devil.” Rick went to the annual Halloween party as “Little Guy,” sewing one of Dylan’s old outfits to his shirt so that it looked like it was Rick’s body. Best of all, it was free. SCHOOL - Hannah did very well in first grade and is continuing her success in 2nd grade, particularly in reading and math. Mom and Dad are impressed with See 2008 on Page 2

2008: A YEAR IN REVIEWContinued from page 1the work she has been bringing home! COUNT - Dylan has been learning as well, impressing his pediatrician with his ability to count to 10, and his mastery of the alphabet. Dylan’s fun to listen to! BRIEFLY - Lisa has been busy keep-ing up with two high energy kids. She volunteers for Hannah’s class and attends programs with Dylan several days a week ... Rick continues to enjoy his job as interactive media specialist at Lancaster General, with an increased focus on Web Services... The Reitz family did their part to stimulate the economy this year, using our tax refund to buy new blinds for the house, our tax rebate to buy a new iMac computer, and for our family Christmas gift, we have entered the world of large fl at screen HDTVs... Fantasy sports went well for Rick in ’08. Two of his 3 baseball teams fi nished fi rst, and the 3rd earned a nice 4th place prize. His fantasy football team also made the playoffs... The Reitzes enjoyed fun days at Hersheypark and Dutch Wonderland, though waiting in line 45 minutes to swim in a pool for 15 minutes at Hershey seemed anti-

climactic... In May Hannah advanced from Daisies to Brownies, and is enjoy-ing her new troop... Hannah turned 7 with a party at Accelerations gymnasium, the same place her 6th birthday was held. She and her friends had a ball... Dylan turned 2 in October and had a fun family party. He received the wooden train table now in our play room, and many Thomas trains! We wish you all of the best this Christ-mas season, with peace and continued success in 2009!
