Visitors: Reita Barrow, Mai Brennan, Dawn McGreal, Cherrill Suckling & John Thompson were welcomed by the President. Almoner’s Report: Best wishes were extended to John Patchett and Lance Hogan. Treasurer’s Report: Monthly report received. Secretary’s Report: Committee meets 12 March. Combined meeting 3 April. Advert for Chorus Line. President’s Report: Affiliation fee to Rebus NZ Inc is $2 per member. Rebus NZ Inc: Chronicles (February) and Newsletter No. 24 received. Woman Board Member sought for Rebus NZ. AGM in May. Trips: Hawkes Bay, Wed 22 March to Norsewood Museum & Wallingford Lodge. Payment due today. Molesworth: Eight members who went spoke very highly of this Tranzit tour. Cruise to Sydney & around NZ, 13 – 26 March 2018. Nineteen indicated interest in this. Dinner Group: Next outing is on Friday 7 April at 6 p.m. to the Manawatu Golf Club café. Vera Lynn 100 Concert, Regent on Broadway, Monday 13 March. Free entry. There were no speakers because of AGM business. Vice-President, Allan Inglis. Secretary, Dean Halford. Treasurer, Adrian Turner. Committee: Neil Andrews, Helen Brown, Marilyn Laing, Karin Moody, Gordon Stuart. Subscription from 7 March 2017 to be $25 – new members to pay pro-rata. Allan Inglis to be the Accounts Reviewer for the current financial year. The Committee to make other appointments. Keith Eckworth was thanked for his dynamic, positive leadership and excellent service to the Club as President.

HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY, Dame Vera Lynn CH DBE OStJ. Widely known as ‘the Forces' Sweetheart’, her musical recordings and performances were enormously popular during WWII. In 2000 she was named the Briton who best exemplified the spirit of the 20th century. Two of her many hits: We'll Meet Again and The White Cliffs of Dover.
