Project Playhouse. In a grand event at the Prince Kuhio Plaza four amazing playhouseswere "sold" to four lucky winners on Saturday, November 19th. Built by Prudential OrchidIsle Properties, Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers, Coldwell Banker Day-Lum Properties,and by HIBR and Hilo Habitat for Humanity President, Julie Hugo, this event was a first

step towards HIBR's mission of building a home for Habitat for Humanity.

"Each Project Playhouse was amazing and the turnout was awesome", said Prince KuhioPlaza General Manager Kimberly Shimabuku. HIBR's Public Relations Committee Chair,

Mealoha Kraus said, "I was overwhelmed by the number of people who came and waited fortheir turn to see if they had the right key. We estimate that we have raised almost $5,000 forHabitat for Humanity and are grateful to everyone for their donations to this worthy cause."

While this was all about raising money to make someone's REAL homeownership dreams areality, a little competition never hurts to keep things lively. From use of Recycled Materials

to Creativity these mini-homes were judged from head to toe. Prudential Orchid IsleProperties Smurf House came out on top with the Best Overall, Most Creative, and People'sChoice Award while Julie Hugo's President's Woodie Playhouse took home the GreenAward. Hawaii Life Real Estate Brokers' Boat Playhouse won second place overall, whileColdwell Banker Day-Lum Properties' Plantation Hale took home the third place award.
