A Note From the Quacker Editor

We’re again posting this current issue of The Quacker only on the LJL HOA website (www.ljlhoa.org). There are signs that things are slowly coming back to normal here at LJL, but most of our normal activities are still in limbo. Please visit the website often for the most up to date information about the status of our facilities and events. As you read this issue online, don’t forget our advertisers. I’m sure some of them are having a hard time right now, and they would appreciate our business. This is our Summer issue, so by the time we publish our next issue in October we should be back to normal. We have a new Park Manager

We’d like to wish a fond farewell to our Park Manager, Cindy Cuthill. We appreciate all that she has done for our community and wish her the best in her next endeavor. Our new Park Manager is Roxana Vidal. Here’s her message of introduction:

Warm greetings and Salutations Lake Juliana Landings Residents! I would like to introduce myself. My name is Roxana Vidal, and I am your new Community Manager. I am SO thrilled to meet each and every one of you and will make it my priority to do so.

I would like to share a bit about myself. I hail originally from Homestead, FL but my family and I have called Central Florida home for more than twenty years. In 2007, a fantastic opportunity presented itself to work as a community manager for a Manufactured Home community. I enjoyed it so much I remained working in the industry ever since. For the past three years I was privileged to expand my knowledge beyond mobile homes, overseeing RV Resorts as well.

Outside of work, some of my favorite hobbies include antiquing, particularly attending classic car shows and exhibitions with my husband, meeting new people, enjoying the Florida sunshine poolside or beach-side, hanging out with my Yorkshire terrier, Mini and my most treasured pastime of all, making new memories with my dear family.

In regards to Lake Juliana Landings, I'm here to serve you and continue to provide an excellent resident experience! You, our residents, are my number one priority.

I look forward to connecting with everyone residing within this wonderful community! Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions, comments or concerns that may arise.

HAPPENED IN THE PARK

The Golf Cart Parade and Food Drive on May 2nd was a BIG SUCCESS! Almost 50 golf carts and over 100 residents took part, with over 400 food items collected for the Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale. The parade around the park and Lundyville lasted 45 minutes. Not bad for our first parade of the summer! Hopefully we can do it again on the 4th of July. A big thank you to George Schenck for organizing the food drive. You can see photos of the event on the LJL website (www.ljlhoa.org). Thank you to Jan Warta for organizing the "Glory Days" Scavenger Hunt that was held on May 16th. The theme was "Find the Flag", and it drew nearly 40 golf carts and 87 residents for the HOA-sponsored event. The object of the event was to find as many small USA flags that were planted around the park. Searchers were judged on the amount of time and the number of flags discovered. Bo and Dottie Howell and crew took first place, Dee and Jim Walter took second place, and Art and Molly Coyle were third. Other prize winners were George and Shirley Cato, and George and Cody Schenck and MaryLou Martinkovic. Prizes included “grilling kits” containing all the fixins' for a cookout -- mustard, ketchup, buns, hot dogs, and brats. Bologna slices and a loaf of bread were awarded to the "longevity winner”, the team that took the longest time to search for the flags. George, MaryLou, and Cody collected the bologna. The HOA also took this event/opportunity to award the $100 Visa gift card that was to be given back in March to those that purchased tickets then. The winning ticket was drawn by Jan and was awarded to Lisa Wehrly.
