The Programme for Country Partnership (PCP)

Why? To mobilize external partners and additional resources and achieve larger development impact.

What? UNIDO’s leading mechanism for achieving ISID and SDG 9.

The PCP:

• Supports governments in mobilizing public resources for large-scale infrastructure projects for industrial development.

• Mobilizes additional investment from the private sector in industrial activities.

• Creates a multi-stakeholder partnership, allowing for coordinated actions and synergies between interventions relevant to industrial development.

• Leadership for industrialization need to be demonstrated at highest national authority

• The Government should have a clear strategy for how it wants to achieve industrialization

• Industrialization is complex - National authorities / institutions need to work together across ministries / mandates for it to happen

• The PCP allows for many partners to come together and contribute to the industrialization process
