The Professional Master’s in Psychology Programmes The Department of Psychology at the University of Pretoria, invites applicants to apply for its Professional Master’s Programmes in Psychology Programme information The Clinical Psychology Programme provides training in dierent therapeutic approaches, emphasising assessment, community engagement and clinical practice. The Counselling Psychology Programme focuses on psychological research, assessment, counselling, community engagement programmes, and professional development. The programme has a developmental and preventative focus. It aims at developing human potential and promoting social transformation. The Research Psychology Programme provides in-depth training in quantitative and qualitative research methods which are applied in various contexts, such as market and environmental research, as well as community, cognitive and media psychology. Prerequisites: A minimum average grade of 65% for Honours and Undergraduate Psychology modules and practical experience in the eld of psychology and/or research Additional information Admission to any one of these programmes depends on a selection process and is currently presented over a period of one-year (full-time), whereafter students can apply for an accredited internship with the HPCSA. The development of a professional identity and a practitioner-scientist orientation is an integral part of the programmes. All the programmes place a strong emphasis on the research focus areas of the Department. Application Form, Deadlines and Interview Dates Step 1: Prospective students need to rst complete the “Online Application for Admission” to the University of Pretoria on www.up.ac.za/online-application and current UP students need to complete the “Internal Application” via their Student Centre Step 2: Applicants need to complete the “Departmental Application Package” for the relevant degree, and submit it with all the supporting documents to the department. The application package is available on www.up.ac.za/psychology Applications open 01 March 2019 and close 31 May 2019. NO late applications will be accepted.
