It has been wonderful to be able to welcome parents, carers and community back into the school again this year. We thank you for your enduring patience during the COVID restrictions! Excellent Attendance: This term, the students of Chifley College Dunheved Campus have made an excellent start to achieving our goal of every student reaching 90% or more attendance. Students with 90% attendance or more for term 1, attended a range of acknowledgment excursions recently. I was delighted to be able to read the following letter of acknowledgment from a community member, praising the behaviour of our students during the Flip Out attendance excursion. (Extract from email received from a community member) Today we came across a cohort of your students at Flip Out in Penrith. I was there with my 10-year-old son, who wasnt at school due to the floods. When we saw the students arrive, he was a little concerned but he was soon put at ease. They were a great bunch of kids who gave him space, let him have a go and a few took the time to talk to him. I was very impressed with how they represented the school …. They all looked like they were having a great time. I had a brief chat with a male teacherthis was a reward for excellent attendance. What a great way to motivate the students. I wanted to send you this email because I feel far too often society is too quick to point out the negative but never acknowledge the positive.
