Dear Members

May has been a sizzler, with the temperature soaring to the forties. Few

who were lucky escaped to the cooler mountains. We look forward to

some much awaited rains and better weather. Those who were in town,

hopefully cooled themselves off at the highly successful Summer

Swimming Coaching Camp conducted at the Club!

The Quality Walls Ice Cream Counter is now open and kids can look

forward to ̀ cool times'. The Parlour boasts of an elaborate Ice Cream Menu!!

Lip smacking stuff!!

In June, look forward to The I Bar night "The Beer Fest" with the sensational

performer 'David Pascall' on Saturday, 14th June, a sensitive and touching

movie 'Tare Zameen Par'* on Sat 21st June, the maha tambola on Sunday,

25th June, 2008 and Bharat Dabolkars brilliant English comedy play* on Sat

28th June. More details on these events inside this issue of the news

magazine.

We also have in June the eagerly awaited Shuttle Tournament "Any Body

Can Win" *. Trust me, in this format, ANYONE can win! Do participate. Great

prizes are on offer!

New member cards have been issued to most of the members. Those who

have not yet given in their passport size photographs may do so at the

earliest.

New car park stickers are under preparation. Discussions are on with our

neighbors- DLF, regarding a joint venture for car parking. This could well

solve a long pending problem for the Club.

A Profile

Dynamic singer! Dynamite performer! David Pascall was born for the stage. Described by the New Indian

Express as “the voice of an angel”, this vocal chameleon can get under the skin of any song. At ease with all

genres of English music, David’s vocal versatility combined with his on-stage histrionics are a rare treat.

From Delhi and Mumbai to London and Glasgow, David has delivered over 600 explosive performances.

Along with his band, he has enthralled audiences across Chennai, Pondicherry, Bangalore, Mysore, Hyderabad,

Vizag, Trivandrum, Kochi and Goa. As a solo performer, David connects with any audience, from ages 6 to 60.

David has graced the front page of the Times of India. His performances have been covered by MTV, Channel

V, SS Music and NDTV.

David has shared the stage with the likes of Jethro Tull, Sir Gary Brooker and Skinny Alley. He has fronted

bands like The Banned, Juravi, UnderCover, Roxygen, the Amit Heri Group and Thermal and a Quarter.

David is also a professional voice artist, compere and theatre personality. He has starred in stage versions of

Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease and The Pied Piper.

Those of you who have seen this gifted artist perform need no introduction! A performer without parallel,

David’s performances are not to be missed. So, on Saturday, June 14th, whatever happens, be there at The I Bar

to chill with the one and only DAVID PASCALL!

Rabbits, Amateurs and Pro-pretenders to come together on the 5th & 6th July fora day of intense tennis followed by thirst-quenching cocktails & mouth-wateringdinner for participants and their immediate-family members.

Please hurry up and register before the 4th July, 5pm.

Entries are open to kids also, including those who attended the recent coachingcamp at the club, and the kids will have a separate ‘Bunny-Rabbits-Tournament’on the 5th July afternoon. Let’s see the future Sanias and Nadals in action.

For the other members and dependents - 2 separate ‘pro-am tournaments’ willbe conducted on the 6th July afternoon by categorising them into 2 groups.

Matches begin at 3pm. Reporting time at 2.30pm.

TAMBOLAT K Srinivasan MIC - Tambola

The Tambolas at the club are conducted twice a month - on 2nd and 4th Wednesday.

The second tambola of the month is always a BUMPER TAMBOLA. The last BUMPER TAMBOLA

held on Wednesday the 30th April was a huge success with more than 200 participants. Cash

prizes totaling Rs.60, 000 were distributed.

A “Maha Tambola” will be held on Wednesday the 25th June. Cash prizes and divi-

dends of more than Rs. 1, 00,000 /- and attractive gift vouchers /coupons are planned.

Participate with family and friends.
