The Power of Prayer and Fasting

• “However, this kind does not go out except

by prayer and fasting.” (Matthew 17:21)

Overcoming Unbelief

• Unbelief hinders us from dealing with

strongholds.

• Fasting helps us overcome unbelief and

build strong faith.

• Faith is required for a breakthrough!

Purpose of Fasting: Breakthrough

• Is not this the fast that I have chosen;

• to loose the bonds of wickedness,

• to undo the heavy burdens,

• to let the oppressed go free,

• and that you break every yoke? (Isaiah 58:6-9)

Results of Fasting

• Isaiah 58:8-9

• Then your light shall break forth like the morning,

your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your

righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the

Lord shall be your rear guard.

• Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; you

shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I AM’…

and clarity of our life’s assignment.

• A new chapter is being birthed in our lives.

FASTING FOR YOUR FUTURE: Daniel 10:2-14

• “…Three full weeks. I ate no pleasant food, no

meat or wine came into my mouth, nor did I

anoint myself at all, til three whole weeks were

fulfilled.

• “And I, Daniel, alone saw the vision, for the men

who were with me did not see the vision…”

• “…the vision refers to many days yet to come.”

FASTING FOR WISDOM: Acts 13:2

• “Now in the church that was at Antioch there

were certain prophets and teachers:

Barnabas, Simeon, Lucius, Manaen, and Saul

• As they ministered to the Lord and fasted, the

Holy Spirit said, ‘Now separate to Me Barnabas

and Saul for the work to which I have called

them.’

FASTING FOR OUR LEADER: Esther 4:15-16

• Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai:

“Go, gather all the Jews who are present in

Shushan, and FAST FOR ME; neither eat

nor drink for three days, night or day. My

maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will

go to the king which is against the law; and

if I perish, I perish.

• 21 Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river

of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves

before our God, to seek from Him the right

way for us and our little ones and all our

possessions.
