Thanks to the success of Cable
8 annual telethon, Alex Reister -- a two year old boy withcerebral palsy – is now able toget the wheel chair and physi-cal therapy equipment neces-sary for him to attend pre-school in the fall. The events and donations inthe CUB on the day of thetelethon raised $400 dollarsmaking the grand total over $4,000 with money donationsstill coming in. The telethonwas hosted live from the CUBand Studio A located in theMurrow building. While the CUB was fun andgames Studio A added a morepersonal touch to the telethon.There Reister’s family was
interviewed along with physi-
cal therapists were inter-viewed. Hosting the telethon were
Peter Wagner and KelseyHodgin in Murrow StudioA, and Evan Burns and Ve-ronica Marcelo in the CUB. The broadcast was a mix-ture of interviews withReister’s family and thera-
pist Chelsea Flesher, cou-pled with live events fromthe CUB lair. In the CUBstudents help raise moneyby participating in variousgames and listening to liveperformances from WSUstudents. Gift cards to local busi-nesses were given away asprizes and everyone had achance to win the grandraffle prize of $100 in cash.WSU students came to par-

was excited to see all of the Cable 8 staff, studentvolunteers and the Murrowcollege come together tomake the event such a suc-cess. We started workingin preparation for the tele-thon in September 2010,and it feels good to see itall play out and to makesuch a difference in Alex’s
