He is crawling and talking well and has strong spirit. He has a will to want to walk and be like every other child. I believe he will be walking in the next 3-5 years and will be going to school next year with other kids his age.”  See Telethon on Page 3 By: Taylor Brooks Thanks to the success of Cable 8 annual telethon, Alex Reister -- a two year old boy with cerebral palsy  is now able to get the wheel chair and p hysi- cal therapy equipment neces- sary for him to attend pre- school in the fall.  The events and donations in the CUB on the day of the telethon raised $400 dollars making the grand total over $4,000 with money donations still coming in. The telethon was hosted live from the CUB and Studio A located in the Murrow building.  While the CUB was fun and games Studio A added a more personal touch to the telethon. There Reister’s family was interviewed along with physi- cal therapists were inter- viewed.  Hosting the telethon were Peter Wagner and Kelsey Hodgin in Murrow Studio A, and Evan Burns and Ve- ronica Marcelo in the CUB.  The broadcast was a mix- ture of interviews with Reister’s family and thera- pist Chelsea Flesher, cou- pled with live events from the CUB lair. In the CUB students help raise money by participating in various games and listening to live performances from WSU students.  Gift cards to local busi- nesses were given away as prizes and everyone had a chance to win the grand raffle prize of $100 in cash.
