In the prophecy of Hosea, the Sthchapter, the 9th and 19th verses, God saysof our people-Britain in particular-"Eph-raim hath hired lovers"-more plainlytranslated, ALLIES. "Yea, tho they havehired among the nations, now will I gatherthem, and they shall sorrow."

And here we find Ephraim-Great Brit-ain, and the United States, doing that veryidentical thing, today-HIRING Russia asan ally. Listen to the 9th verse of the 7thchapter: "Strangers have devoured his(Britain's and America's) strength, and heknoweth it not."

At the very first, God commanded ourpeople regarding alliances with Gentile na-tions, "Thou shalt make no covenant withthem, nor with their gods." (Exodus23:32) .

Again in Exodus 34: 12, God warns:"Take heed to thyself, lest thou make a cov-enant with" them. (that is, Gentile nations).Again we find this warning in Deut. 7:2,and in Judges 2 :2, God says "ye shall makeno league" with them. And other scripturescommand the same thing.

Now what is the certain OUTCOME ofsuch an ungodly HIRED alliance? It willbe the same as God warned Judah in Jere-miah's day, when He said, as we find in Jer.4:30:

"Though thou clothest thyself with crim-son, though thou deckest thee with orna-ments of gold, though thou rentest thy facewith painting, IN VAIN shalt thou makethyself fair; thy lovers ( that is, ALLIES)will despise thee, THEY WILL SEEK THYLIFE!"

Plain Truth About Communism

Listen to just a few hard, cold FACTSabout Communist Russia. We quote theirOWN STATEMENTS. The "CommunistManifesto" is, in effect, the CommunistBible. On page 37 of this official Com-munist text-book, we read this:

"The bourgeois (all you who own prop-erty or employ any labor) clap-trap aboutthe family and education, about the hal-lowed co-relation of parent and child, be-comes all the more disgusting, the more, bythe action of modern industry." This Com-munist Manifesto advocates ABOLITIONof the family, of our educational system,and all rights of inheritance.

On page 40 is written: "There are, be-sides, eternal truths-such as Freedom, Jus-tice, etc., that are common to all states ofsociety; But Communism ABOLISHESeternal tuths, it abolishes ALL RELIGION,and ALL MORALITY." That is QUOTEDfrom this official Communist Manifesto!

The Young Communist Leagues carry ona broad propaganda in America among theyoung workers, especially those in the army,for the spread of their principles againstmilitarism for the defense of DEMO-CRACY-tho they uphold the militarism ofthe RED army of Soviet Russia! On page38, of their book "Programs of the YoungCommunist International," a text-book forour youth, we read this; "The Communistsunderstand that the armed rebellion of theproletariat (working class) against capital-ism is necessary ... Only by the victory ofits WEAPONS will the proletariat be ableto lead humanity." And so they are teachingyoung America that the Red Army is THEIRarmy, the United States armed forces their

Communist BlasphemySome few years ago the Communists

burned the effigy of Christ in Moscow. An-other official Communist textbook, the "Pro-gram of the Communist International," saysthis on page 53: "One of the most import-ant tasks of the cultural revolution affectingthe wide masses is the task of systematicallyand unswervingly combatting religion-theopium of the people . . . The proletarianstate (Communist) carries on anti-religiouspropaganda with all the means at its com-mand."

In the United States the Communist par-ty, hcac1ec1 by Joseph Stalin, has promotedand sponsored several ATHEIST societiesamong students and in Communist child-ren's organizations. Communist leaders wellknow that Communism and Christianity DONOT MIX. It is their goal to DESTROYall Christianity from the face of the earth.Listen to an anti-religious manifesto issuedin Moscow in 1')24: "\'{le will grapple withthe Lord God in due season. We will van-quish Him in His highest heaven. Andwhenever He seek refuge, we will subdueHim Iorcvcr !"

Such blasphemous declarations mayshock your eyes, but it is time our peoplecame to realize the NATURE of this god-less power which OUR PEOPLE are nowHIRING to become an ALLY for the de-feat of Hitler! Undoubtedly Hitler is liter-ally INSPRIRED of Satan-the instrumentand the tool of the DEVIL. But this alli-ance with such insidious enemy as JosephStalin can never be blessed with success indestroying Hitlerism. No, there is a betterway!

The ultimate aim of the Communist pro-gram is to take from us the vast wealth andresources with which the Almighty hasblessed us. And the prophecy of Ezekiel 38shows that later on Russia with her vasthordes and allies will come against ourpeople in war, seeking our downfall. Thatis the way she will repay this nation's pres-ent kindness. Truly these gentiles are sap-ping our strength, and we seem to KNOWIT NOT!

Our Certain Fate, Now!Notice, now, the CERTAIN prophecy

of what is coming to us-a prophecy forour time, and our peopie-unless we willforsake such foolish alliances, turn to theAlmighty, confess and repent of our sins,and put on the WHOLE ARMOUR OFGOD!

President Roosevelt knows the danger.He is trying to warn and arouse the people.He said recently: "I give solemn warning tothose who think Hitler has been blockedand halted that they are making a very dan-gerous assumption."

The prevailing dangerous assumption isthat America is iuunuue from attack by Hit-ler. The Nazi war machine is essentially aLAND machine, coordinating tanks andplanes with artillery and infantry divisions.HOW, we ask, could such an army ever getto our shores? Are we not protected by theAtlantic ocean and the first navy of theworld? And we complacently dismiss thethought of invasion is fantastic, IMPOS·SIBLE!

France felt just as secure behind theMaginot line. Didn't France have theworld's finest ARMY? it was just as IM-POSSIBLE for a Nazi blitzkrieg to breakthru that Maginot line and the French Armyas it now is for Hitler's land armies to comeacross the Atlantic thru the United StatesNavy.

But Hitler did not break thru the Mag-inot line. He went around it.

WHY Does God Permit this War?I:

0 K AT THE WORLD TODAY!War, famine, pestilence! Poverty, in-equality, hunger, want! Sickness, dis-

ease, suffering, death! Crime, graft, dis-honesty, corruption! Insanity, degeneration,decay! Unhappiness, fear, wretchedness andwoe!

How, so many are asking, can a su-preme, all-powerful God of LOVE permitit?

WHY does God allow a devil-inspiredHitler to run amuck? WHY does He permitcivilization itself to crumble?

Is God FAIR?Listen! Some men are saying, "God isn't

fair! -or is there a God, after all?" Butwhat do you suppose men would say if Godtook away their right to think and do asthey please? For God could never stop thisawful carnage without FORCING men toact according to HIS will-denying them afree will of their own!

It is men's ways, so contrary to God'sways, that have brought this unhappy state.And they have brought on all the world'ssorrows and anguish in spite of the plead-ings of God. He says, "Your ways are notmy ways."

God's ways, had they been followed,would have led inevitably to peace, happi-ness, prosperity and joy. God always has re-vealed to men His ways. Always He haspleaded with the human family.

Suppose God had taken the only alter-native. Suppose He had FORCED men,against their wiHs, to have lived accordingto HIS laws?

Can't you almost hear the defiant, rebel-lious, stiff-necked human race indignantlyscreaming at the Almighty: "You can't cramyour religion down my throat!" For it is amatter of religion. Can't we see that, hadGod followed that course, more than evermen would have shouted, "GOD ISN'TFAIR!"

For six thousand years men have livedin defiance of God's laws. Had God deniedthem this right to be wrong, men wouldhave accused God of injustice, demandingfreedom to follow their own ways.

God's Plan has for its purpose thecreating of perfect CHARACTER in beingsthat are separate entities from God. Charac-ter cannot be created automatically by fiat-it must be developed through experiencel..__

Nor could character be instilled withoutfree moral agency. To achieve this great pur-pose--that of producing the supreme pin-nacle of all God's creation, separate perfectcharacter,-man has to be convinced, of hisown free will, that God's laws are JUST,and His ways the only right ways for man!And turn to them, voluntarily! And thislesson could be learned only by EXPERI-ENCE!

In the beginning, Satan appeared to con-

test the wisdom of God's Law. This law is,simply, LOVE. Love for God, and love forneighbor, as defined in the ten broad prin-ciples of the Ten Commandments. A funda-mental, spiritual, eternal law. The philos-ophy Christ taught that it is more blessed toGIVE, than to receive. But Satan arguedfor the GETTING way. Competition, heargued, is the life-blood of activity. Self-desire provides incentive to endeavor. Vanityspurs to action. And so, in Satan's philos-ophy, self-desire, competition, strife, pro-vide the root-principle for accomplishment.The way of GETTING is the way to pro-gress and advancement.

Had not God permitted this selfish wayto be tried, tested, and demonstrated, God'screatures could argue throughout eternitythat they had been denied the better way.

The Devil's WEEKAnd so God turned over to Satan ONE

WEEK, consisting of seven thousand-yeardays, in which to demonstrate the falsity ofthis way.

For this week of seven thousand years,Satan was permitted to retain DOMINIONover all the earth. "Six days," God said,"thou shalt labor and do all thy work"-his work of deception and hate-"but theSEVENTH day is the Sabbath of the Lordthy God; in it thou shalt not do any work."Six thousand-year days Satan was permittedfor his labor of DECEPTION. Even thenhis dominion has been limited to the powerof influence and suggestion. Never has Godpermitted even Satan arbitrarily to forcemen against their wills.

And so for six thousand years men havebeen left free to accept the self-seekingcompetitive philosophy of Satan, or to follow the Golden Rule of God. And for sixthousand years Satan has labored. And mao-kind has fallen for his delusion!

Satan's philosophy is the philosophy ofthe world today. On it our present civilza-tion has been built. A civilization men loveand cherish, and for which they patrioticallysacrifice their lives! A civilization developedon desire for self-gain, competition, strife!In it success is determined by HOWMUCH a man has been able to GET, noton how well he has served.

God has never left men in ignorance ofthe TRUE way of life. Always He has madeknown the true values-the way of Hisspiritual law of Love! Continually God haspleaded, with patience and in love. Hepleaded through Noah in the days beforethe flood. He set up a nation of His own onearth, pledged to follow HIS laws, dedi-cated voluntarily to God's ways of life. ButIsrael turned from God's ways, and perse-cuted and killed God's prophets'

God sent His only begotten Son to pointmen back to the true paths. And Him, too,men rejected and killed!

During these six thousand years sinceAdam men continually have spurned God'slove, rejected His Law, turned a deaf ear toHis prophets and His true ministers. Theyhave built a world after the false philosophyof Satan, replete with its pagan customs,traditions and beliefs. Today people arehopelessly engulfed in these false ways, but,being deceived, realize it not at all!

Satan is revealed as the "GOD of thisworld." And this worldly civilization wor-ships its GOD. The apalling fact unrealizedby the world is that Satan, not Jehovah, isits got!! TIle Creator God "is not the authorof confusion," we read in I Cor. 14:33. Itsreal author is Satan, this world's god! Andso he has his many denominations and sects,all striving in a babylon of confusion!

There is just one thing, it seems, thatall Satan's ministers can agree upon. "God'sLAW," they chorus in unison, "is DONEAWAY!" Yes, they have to tell you that,in order to draw their salaries! Today thepeople of organized religion refuse toHEAR the Law of the Lord (Isa. 30:8-11).They demand that their ministers preachthe soft and smooth things-the deceits!They have turned away from the TRUTH,and are accepting and believing FABLES(II Tim. 4:2-4). They are BITTER againstGod's Law, and against the few who havecourage today to proclaim the PLAINTRUTH of God's Word!

Yes, Satan has organized religion. Hehimself appears, not as a devil with hornsand a tail bearing a pitch-fork, but "is trans-formed into AN ANGEL OF LIGHT."(II Cor. 11; 14). His ministers are trans-formed as the ministers of righteousness,appearing AS the apostles of Christ!(Verses 13, 1:; ). But they are treachinganother Jesus, in the power 0 anotherspirit, and deceiving men with anotherGospel than the true Gospel of the King-dom which Christ brought and Paul and allthe apostles preached! (Verses 3-4). Satan'scongregations go in' for much FORM."Having a FORM of godliness,·but denyingthe POWER thereof: from such turn away,"plainly warns God's Word! (II Tim.3: 1-5). The present worldly order -itscompetitive principle, its customs and tradi-tions, its political systems-are upheld bySatan's churches within every land! Truly,ALL nations are deceived! (Rev. 17:2 ;lR~3) _

Jesus Christ appeared 1900 years ago asa Messenger bearing a Message from God.He brought to an unhappy world steeped infalse ways the "GOOD NEWS of theKINGDOM OF GOD." A Kingdom now,soon, to replace these crumbling govern-ments of earth!

That Kingdom today is near at hand-even at the doors! (Luke 21:31).

WHY are we heedless of impendingdanger?

The PLAIN TRUTH

It need not come to YOU; for Godfreely offers you full divine protection. Butit is certain to come to those who fail totake warning.

Paul pleaded with us, of this generation,that we should not be asleep to this impend-ing danger (1 Thes. 5). But it seems God'speople of this time are, truly, the Laodiceanchurch foretold in Revelation 3:14-22.

The purpose of the Christian life in thisdispensation is to train those who are nowcalled for the high calling of a "king" or a"priest" in Christ's Kingdom. We have beengoing to school, as it were. When He comes,each shall be called to accounting, (Luke19: 11-27), and given responsibility in King-dom rule according as he has qualified byChristian growth and development duringthis life. And just as the young man orwoman preparing in college for a professionmust take, and pass FINAL EXAMS at theend of the school year, so now God's calledare to take final exams! "Many shall be puri-fied, and made white, and tried," at thistime of the end, says Daniel (12:9-10).

In Revelation 6:9-11 we are told thatthose Christian martyrs of the middle agesare to rest in their graves yet a little whileuntil their fellow-Christians OF THISEND- TIME GENERATION shall be mar-tyred as they uiere!

In His Olivet prophecy, Jesus told of thefalse preaching, the world war, famines,pestilences. These things have now hap-pened. "Then," He said, next, "they shalldeliver you up to be afflicted, and shall killyou." (Mat. 24:3-9).

But the prophecy of Revelation 12 showsthat, as many of the saints known in historyas "the Waldenses" fled to a place of safetyfrom the middle-age persecution, so manyof God's people are a:.:ain, now, to fleeunder God's direction and protection to aplace of escape!

Some of God's people shall have tosacrifice their lives for their faith, yet othersshall escape! Thus God's true people fallinto two classes.

What shall determine into which classYOU shall be?

Remember, "there is no respect of per-sons with God." Therefore HE shall notdecide into which class you find yourself.You, yourulf, must decide it.

The question is, HOW?"Watch ye, therefore, and PRAY AL-

WAYS, that ye may be accounted worthyto ESCAPE all these things that shall cometo pass, and to stand before the Son ofis Jesus' own answer. (Luke 21: 36) .

Notice, 1st, you must WATCH! Belooking for it! Read I Thessalonians 5. Weare children of the light,-we have Bibleprophecy-we KNOW what is coming. Donot deny it; do not scoff; do not hide youreyes from impending danger-WATCH!

And then, something else! PRAY! Prayalu/avs! Arc you praying that hard?

Jesus, our example, was accustomed tospending LONG HOURS in private prayer,alone with God. He prayed all night to God.He arose early, long before it was day, and

went out where He could be ALONE withGod. He FASTED and prayed. Do you?

Those who ESCAPE are those who putChrist's Kingdom PIRST, not second, intheir every-day lives; who spend full boursin earnest, heart-rending prayer-who act-ually FAST and pray; who pray continually,even as they go about their work, as theywalk down the street, or drive their cars.They are continually in a spirit of prayer.

YOU shall decide f01" yourself intowhich camp of the saints you shall be placed-whether you shall have to suffer theagonies of torture and death-or whetheryou shall be accounted worthy to ESCAPEaII these things!

Do you find God such a "bore" that youdread His company in prayer? If you trulylove Him-if He is your best friend-thenit should be such a sweet privilege to spendwhole hours with Him in prayer! He isnever "too busy" to give you all the timeyou wish. Whenever you go to Him inprayer, He is there! His ear is always open!You can have all of His time you want! Asa[ten as you want it! How THANKFULwe should be!

But perhaps Hitler does not plan tocome across the Atlantic at all. Perhaps heplans to go around it! Two avenues ~reopen to him. One, thru South America,Three or four times in recent months Naziplots have been overthrown just in time tosave a coup which would have given Hitlercontrol of a South American country! Oncein control of some South American govern-ment, Hitler can land troops, tanks, planes,at will on this hemisphere, then come byland to the United States!

And now comes the report of anotherHitler plan! A plan so amazing as to soundfantastic. Yet a plan that appears far morepractical than one might suppose at firstglance. That plan is to invade the UnitedStates from the NORTH!

Years ago Russia demonstrated the prac-ticability of flights from Moscow to Van-couver, Washington, and even non-stopflights from Moscow to California, Over theNORTH POLE! Russian fliers just recentlyhave made another such flight to Seattle.

The new report says one of Hitler's mot-ives in attacking Russia is to gain control ofat least a portion of Western Siberia, for ahopping-off base. The report is that one

W H ERE did Jeremiah go, withBaruch his secretary and one ofmore of the royal daughters ofHistory stops short at this point. En-

lightened sudents of Bible history havelong known that the Ten Tribcs-callcd bythe name "House of ISRAEL"-have beenlost, and exist today among the Gentilenations, unrecognized.

Their identity, and location, is one ofthe things God has hidden from the world.Yet, in this end-time, when knowledge is toincrease, when the "wise" are to UNDER-STAND (Dan. 12:4,10), we shall find thesecret revealed thru PROPHECY whichcould not be understood until now.

But first, we must now consider a mys-terious "breach" that occurred in the daysof Judah, son of Jacob.

Judah was the father of twin sons. Thefirst born was royal seed, for thru him theSCEPTRE promise was to be carried down.It seems the midwife knew twins were aboutto be born. It is recorded that just beforebirth one of the twins "put out his hishand: and the midwife took and boundupon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, 'Thiscame out first.''' But the child drew backhis hanrl, and the other was actually bornfirst. The midwife exclaimed, "How hastthou broken forth? this breach be uponthee: (margin, wherefore hast thou madethis breach-against thee?). therefore hisname was called Pharez,' meaning"Breach." (Gen. 38: 27 -30) .

WHY should this strange occurance berecorded in Bible history, unless this breachwas to be HEALED between the sons ortheir descendants at some future time? Yetit never occurred in their life-time.

Zarah, of the scarlet thread, had fivesons (I Chron. 2:6). Only Solomon waswiser (I Kings 4:29-31). Did a descendantof Zarah finally get the throne, in a man-ner healing the breach?

David, Zedekiah, Christ, all were of thePHAREZ branch-none of Zarah. Nowconsider, 1) the fact of the breach meansthe transfer of the Sceptre from the Pharezto the Zarah line. 2) such transfer neveroccurred before King Zedekiah of Judah,who was descended from Pharez. 3) There-fore it had to occur after Zedekiah's death.4) Since David's line (Pharez) is to remainon the throne thru all generations FOR·EVER, it could only occur at an OVER·TURN of the throne by a marriage betweena Pharez heir to the throne and one of theZarah line, thus healing the breach.

History shows the descendants of Zarahbecame wanderers, journeying to the north-west and founding the Scythian nation,their descendants joining the Ten Tribes.

What Has Gone Before:

WHERE is the United States mentionedin Bible prophecy? To answer, we mustfirst go back t.o the heginning of the stran-gest, most fascinating story ever told, thatof God's chosen people, Israel.

Few have noticed that the promises Godmade unconditionally to Abraham wereTWO-fold: First, material promises ofRACE. "Thou shalt be the father of MANYNATIONS," God promised. The Jews arebut one nation. These material, nationalpromises of RACE the Bible calls the"BIRTHRIGHT" an inherited right bybirth. Under the BIRTHRIGHT, God prom-ised Abraham for his fleshly descendantsthe national wealth, resources, and great-ness. that have become our since 1800 A. D.

Second, God gave Abraham spiritualpromises of GRACE-a dynasty of kings,culminating in Christ to become King ofkings-the "one seed" (Gal. 3:8,16), thruwhom ALL nations are to be blessed-sal-vation, eternal life. This promise the Biblecalls the SCEPTRE. The SCEPTRE wasgiven to JUDAH, of which tribe Jesus wasborn (Gen. 49:10), but the BIRTHRIGHTwas JOSEPH'S! (I Cron. 5:2).

In passing the BIRTHRIGHT on to thetwo sons of Joseph, Ephraim and Manasseh,(Genesis 48), Jacob said: "Let my name(ISRAEL) be named on them ... and letthem grow into a multitude." (the "manynations).

When the twelve tribes had become anation, God made an UNconditional, unal-terable covenant with King David (tribe ofJudah), guaranteeing a perpetual dynastythru all generations FOREVER. The worldbelieves that dynasty ceased in 585 B. C.

Later the BIRTHRIGHT and SCEPTREwere divided into TWO NATiONS. Israelrejected King Rehoboam of David'sdynasty, two tribes, JUDAH and Benjaminonly split off from Israel, remained underJerusalem rule of Rehoboam were called"The House of JUDAH," nicknamed"JEWS," possessing the SCEPTRE.. Ofthem Christ was born. But the ten tribes,headed by Ephraim and Manasseh, possess-ing the BIRTHRIGHT, retained the name"House of ISRAEL," never were called"Jews." They were carried captive to Ass-yria, 721 B. C., later migrating north andwest, known as "The LOST TENTRIBES."

Afterwards JUDAH sinned worse thanIsrael. The prophet Jeremiah was divinelycommissioned as mediary, to tear down inJerusalem, then BUILD and PLANT else-where David's throne. Nebuchadnezzar ofBabyl~n invadd Judaea, killed all the sonsof King Zedekiah an~ all. princes and no?lesof Judah. Zedekiah died In Babylon leavmg,as the world supposed, no hear to David'sthrone. Then Jeremiah, performing the sec-ond half of his divine commission, went toKing Zedekiah's daughters. With Baruch,his scribe, they were taken captive toEgypt,where t.h oy escaped, returned to Je-rusalem, and from there ... "the remnantthat escaped of the House of Judah shallAGAIN TAKE ROOT DOWNWARD, ANDBEAR FRUIT UPWARD," said the pro-phecy of Isaiah 37:32,31. WHERE wasDavid's throne planted and buiIded?

But meanwhile, the Pharez-David-Zede-kiah line possessed the Sceptre-was HIGH---exalted. The Zarah line feeling it right-fully should possess the Sceptre, and someday would was low, abased-so far as royalpower was concerned.

Now consider a much misunderstoodpassage of prophecy:

The Three OverturnsIf you will begin reading at the 18th

verse of the 21st chapter of Ezekial, you willsee plainly that Jehovah is here speaking ofthe captivity of Judah by the king of Baby-lon. And, beginning with the 25th verse,He says: "And thou, profane wicked princeof Israel (Zedekiah), whose day is come,when iniquity shall have an end, Thus saiththe Lord God; 'Remove the diadem, andtake off the crown: (as did happen, thru thefirst half of Jeremiah's commission). This(the crown) shall not be the same: exalthim that is low, and abase him that is high.I will overturn, overturn, overturn it: andit shall be no more until he come whoseright it is; and I will give it him: ..

Let us understand that dearly."Remove the diadem, and take off the

crown." King Zedekiah, of David's dynasty,had the crown. This says it is to be removed.It was removed. He died in Babylon, hissons and all the nobles of Judah were killed.

"This shall not be the same." The dia-dem is not to cease, but a change is to takeplace-the throne is to be overturned-an-other is to wear the crown. God's PROMISEto David is not to go by default!

"Exhalt him that is low, and abase himthit is high." Who is "high?" King Zede-kiah of Judah. Now he is to be abased. Heis to lose that crown. Judah has been"high," while Israel has been "low,"-lo,these many years without a king (Has. 3:4).The Pharez line has been "high"-theZarah line has been "low."

"I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it:and it shall be no more until he come whoseright it is." What was to be overturn.ed.?The diadem and the throne. Not once, It 1$to be OVERTURNED three times. Over-turned by abasing Zedekiah, the House ofJudah, the Pharez line, and exalting, now,the House of Israel, and one of the Zarahline! The first of the three overturns wasaccomplished as the first half of Jeremiah'scommission.

"And it shall be no more." Does thismean the throne-the crown-is to cease toexist? Not at all! How could it be OVER-TURNED three times-that is, TRANS-FERRED from one to another, if it ceasedto exist? How, after these three transfers ofthe crown, could it be given to HIM-Christ-whose right it is, at His secondcoming, if it ceased altogether to exist?How could he who was "low" be now ex-halted by the crown, if that crown was to be

no more? No, the meaning is, "It shaII beno more overturned until the Second Com-ing of Christ!" And then it shall be onceagain overtturned, and given to Him! Godwill not break his unalterable promise madeto David! Thru every generation David shallhave a son wearing that crown! TheSECOND half of Jeremiah's commissionmust now be performed. That throne mustbe transPLANTED, and again BUILDED.The crown must be overturned-transferredto another!

But WHERE? To WHOM?

A "Riddle" and a "Parable" Tells!

The strange TRUTH of the PLANT-ING and the REBUILDING of David'sthrone is revealed in a "riddle and a par-able," couched in symbolic language neverunderstood until this latter day. Yet itstands, today, so clearly explained a littlechild could understand!

It fills the 17th chapter of Ezekiel's pro-phecy. The whole chapter should be care-fully read. Notice, first, this prophetic mes-sage is addressed, NOT to Judah, the Jews,but to the House of ISRAEL. It is a Messageto give light to the lost Ten-Tribed Houseof ISRAEL in these latter days!

First, Ezekiel is told to speak a riddle,and then a parable, The riddle is found inverses 3 to 10. Then, beginning verse 11,Jehovah explains its meaning.

"Say now to the rebellious house," Godsays,-the "rebellious house being Ten-Tribed ISRAEL (Ezek. 12:9), to whomEzekiel is set a prophet (Ezek. 2: 3; 3: 1,etc.) "Know ye not what these thingsmean? tell them ... "and then the riddle isclearly explained. A great eagle came toLebanon and took the highest branch of thecedar. This is explained to represent KingNebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who came toJerusalem, and took captive the king ofjudah.The cropping off of the cedar's youngtwigs and carry109 them to a la~~ of trafficis explained to picture the captivity of theking's sons, "He took also of the seed ofthe land," means Nebuchadnezzar took alsoof the people, and the mighty of the land ofJudah. "He set it as a willow tree. And itgrew, and became a spreading v.ine of lowstature," means the Jews were grven a cov-enant whereby, altho they were ruled overby the Chaldeans, they might live in peaceand grow. The other "great eagle" is ex-plained to represent Pharoah of Egypt.

Thus the riddle covers the FIRST halfof Jerem'iah's commission. Now notice whatis revealed concerning the SECOND part-the PJ~ANTING of D~vicl's throne!

It comes in the parable, verses 22:24."Thus saith the Lord God; I will also

take of the highest branch of th.e highcedar." From God's own explanation wehave learned that the cedar tree representsthe nation of Judah; its highest branch isJudah's king, The riddle told us Ncb~chaJllezzar took the highest branch-the KlOg.The parable now teIIs.us God-not Ne.buch.nezzar, but GOD, WIll take of the highestbranch. Not the branch, but OF the branch

-of Zedekiah's children. But Nebuchad-nezzar took, and killed, all of his SONS.

God, thru his prophet Jeremiah, is nowgoing to take OF this highest branch, and"SET IT." (Verse 22).

"I will crop off from the to~ of hisyoung twigs a tender one, and WIll plantit upon a high mountain and eminent," con-tinues the Almighty! Ah! "A tender youngtwig!" The twigs of this highest branch rep-resent the children of King Zedekiah! Cer-tainly a tender young twig, then, representsa DAUGHTERl

"... and will PLANT it." Could sym-bolic language say plainer this young Jew-ish Princess is to become the royal seed forthe PLANTING again of David's throne?Where?

".. , . upon an high mountain and emi-nent." says Jehovah!" A "mountain" insymbol always represents a NATION. ButWHICH nation?

"In the mountain of the height of IS-RAEL will I plant it," answers the Eterna!!David's throne now is to be planted 10ISRAEL, after being thrown down fromJUDAH t Could language be PLAIN~R?

" ... and it (the tender young tWlg-the king's daughter) shall bring forthboughs, and bear fruit, and be ~ goodlycedar:" Did David's throne cease With Zede-kah of Judah? Did God forget His coven-ant? NO! Compare this language with thepassage in Isaiah 37: 31-32: "the remnantthat escaped of the House of Judah shallagain take root downward (be planted) andBEAR FRUIT UPWARD." It wasPLANTED in ISRAEL, who removed fromJudah! After this Hebrew Princess is"planted" on the throne, now in ISRAEL-lost from view-that throne is to BEARFRUIT. She is to marry, have children, andher sons are to continue David's dynasty!

"... and under it shall dwell all fowlof every wing; in the shadow of thehranches thereof shall they dwell." (Verse23). "Lost" Israel, now having acquired thethrone and become again a self-ruling na-tion, shall, in time, spread around the earthdominance and power. They shall inheritthe unconditional promises of the BIRTH-RIGHT, according to God's covenant withAbraham!

"And all the trees of the field" (verse24). A "tree" is this riddle and parable islikened to a nation. In other words, "Allthe nations of the earth."

"... shall know that T the Lord havebrought down the high tree." Judah, thehigh tree, having the throne for 131 yearsafter Israel had been taken captive, now isbrought down to the low stature of sLnlPry.

"... have exhalted the low tree." For131 years Israel had been a "low tree," NowIsrael is exhalted, becomes again a nationwith a king.

"... have dried up the green tree"-JUDAH, "and have made the dry ~ree toflourish." ISRA[L, headed by the tribes ofEphraim and Manasseh, who possessed theBIRTHRIGHT, now shall flourish, becomeprosperous in due time. "I the Lord havespoken and have done it." Yes, that

Tho LOST-tho supposed to be a Gentile nation, Theyare the people who were to grow into thepromised multitude-the great natiun, andthe company of nations, possessing thegates of their enemy nations, becoming acolonizing people spreading around theworld,being blessed with national resourcesand wealth. And, when they become thuspowerful and nationally dominant, remem-ber David's throne is transplanted amongthem!

HITLER'S Invasion of RUSSIAW H AT does Hitler's invasion ofRussia mean? What does BIBLEPROPHECY say about it?

As usual, there are many ideas. So FEW,it seems, have a right understanding of theBible and its prophecies.

In September, 1939, following the an-nouncement of the non-aggression pact be-tween Hitler and Stalin which electrified theworld, most of those who set themselves asteachers of Bible prophecy were shoutingthat this pact was the prophesied alliance be-tween "Gog" ano "Gomer" of Ezekiel 38.But listeners of the Radio Church of God,and readers of The PLAIN TRUTH knewthat it wasn't.

And now, again, many are trying to fitthe German invasion of Russia in some man-ner into the 38th of Ezekiel! But again wesay to our readers, there is no connectionwhatever!

Hitler Still On ScheduleIn the November, 1939, number of The

PLAIN TRUTH, speaking of the Russio-German non-agression pact, we said:"among the territory to be conquered inHITLER'S plan was the Russian Ukraine!"

In the preceding issue, the May-Junenumber of this year, we published Hitler's"TIMETABLE," as revealed by a Germanmap copy of which has been in The PLAINTRUTH office since early 1939-before thewar began. It was published to show ourreaders that at that time-last Spring-Hitler was exactly on his original schedule!That schedule as published went six monthsinto the future. It revealed that for the Fallof this year -this Fall-Hitler had plannedthe invasion of the Russian Ukraine!PLAIN TRUTH readers know worldevents, before the occur! And as this is writ-ten Kiev, capital of the Ukraine, and. Rus-sia's third city, has fallen and the NaZIS arepushing on!

WHY Hitler Invaded RussiaWHY did Hitler turn cast, postponing

his drive on thru Palestine to Suez andEgypt; postponing again his invasion ofthe British isles?

This past Spring Hitler invaded theBalkans, swept thru to Greece and the islandof Crete, placed the whole vast section ofsoutheastern Europe under his power. Thiswas a direct threat to Russia. Under thenon-aggresion pact, Stalin had been supply-ing Hitler with supplies and materials withwhich to fight Britain-also regarded by theCommunists as their ultimate enemy. ButStalin did not wish Hitler to completely con-quer Britain and come into possession ofthe vast British resources. He merely wishedto help Hitler weaken the rich democracies,while Hitler also weakened himself, andRussia remained free and strong. From the

beginning the ultimate aim of Communismhas been to gobble up the overwhelming re-sources of the English speaking races.

But now the time had come for Stalinto cut Hitler off from all supplies furnishedunder the non-aggression pact. Hitler'ssweep thru the Balkins was a direct threatagainst Russia. Stalin has feared Hitler fromthe first-feared Hitler and had designsagainst Britain and America! The time hadcome for Stalin to act. He cut Hitler offfrom all supplies. From one to three millionRed troops were mobilized on the Russio-Balkan frontiers.

The British, with the "Free French,"had put down the uprising in Iraq, hadtaken Syria from the half-hearted French.Britain suddenly had become greatly stren-gthened and intrenched against a Nazi drivedown thru Palestine toward Suez,-a drivedefinitely prophesied to occur in due time.But now such a drive was impossible aslong as the Red Army stood massed at theBalkan borders as a threat. Stalin alarmed byHitler's successes, decided to check Hitler.Hitler DARED NOT turn his back to theseRussian hordes, and continue to march onsouth into Palestine. He DARED not shifthis armies back to the west and invade Eng-land with Stalin's vast forces waiting tomarch in thru his back door.

Further, with Russian supplies now shutoff, Hitler MUST HAVE the breadstuffsand other supplies of the Russian Ukrainein order to continue the war. Still further,the Ukraine is the gate-way to the Ncar andMiddle East territories, which Hitler alsoMUST have for its all-important oil, andalso because he cannot capture the EasternMediterranean and Suez without it.

What Bible Prophecy IndicatesBut what about Bible prophecy in this

connection ? We have stated that the presentconflict in Russia has no connection what-ever with the prophecy of Ezekiel 38. True,Russia is the "Gog in the land of Magog"of that prophecy. But Hitler is the"BEAST" of Revelation, and Ezekiel 38does not connect the two. Ezekiel 38 fore-tells events yet to happen-considerably inthe FUTURE! They will not occur untilafter the present war.

Well, then, where in the prophecies isthis Russian invasion foretold? The answeris, NOWHERE, directly! We must remem-ber that the BIble is concerned only withISRAEL and JUDAH-and with gentilenations only as they come into contact withIsrael. Russia and Germany arc both Gentilepowers. A battle between them naturallywould not be mentioned directly in Bibleprophecy. There have been literally hund-reds of wars between gentile powers thatare nowhere mentioned in prophecy.

But Bible prophecy does show that Hit-ler, or his successor in office, as "The

BEAST" of Revelation, is to continue on tofar greater destruction in activities whichwill yet take considerable time, and wiII re-quire resources and supplies which he nowlacks. In order to fulfill these prophecies,Hitler simply MUST have supplies and re-sources he can obtain only from the Uk-raine and other parts of Russia.

There, Bible prophecy does indicate thatHitler MUST BE THE VICTOR ill hispresent Russian invasion!

But, on the other hand, the very proph-ecy of Ezekiel 38 shows that some yearslater Russia, with many allies, will rise upto attack and invade our people, in the landof PALESTINE. Therefore Russia will notbe destroyed or totally conquered in thiswar. Russia must be left free to rise againto great military power in time to fulfillEzekiel 38!

Based on these prophecies, we mayknow, then, that Hitler will win valuableterritory in this bloodiest war of world his-tory. The Nazi machine will perhaps take afew more cities. They will gain still moreterritory Then weather conditions will slowthe advance to a stalemate. A settlement willbe reached, giving Hitler the supplies andresources he must have and undoubtedly partof western Siberia. The terms will giveHitler assurance that the Red army is unableto attack him, as Hitler turns his wreckingmachine tu the British Isles, the UnitedStates, and Palestine.

Hitler will emerge from this Russiancampaign stronger than ever, fr.ee to .tll/;nthe entire might of his forces aga1l1sl Britain-and AMERICA!

The plan, as re-ported, is to leap off 500 to 1,000 milesnortb of Moscow, transporting many mech-anized infantry divisions, with tanks and fullblitzkrieg equipment, by large transportplanes over the North Pole to some unin-habited point in far northern Canada. Theplanes are to be eq~ipped with sled-ruJ.1ners,taking off and landing on the frozen Ice orsnow. Germany is reported to have planesthat can transport tanks, guns, and manytroops. An army of a million or more couldthus be ferried across the North Pole, landedin uninhabited Arctic wastes of the North-land of this American continent, perhapsbefore the American or Canadian forcescould be aware of the move. Hitler wouldhave his LAND ARMIES on our NorthAmerican continent, ready to march south ina surprise attack. Are we prepared for sucha move?

Perhaps this is fantastic. Perhaps j.t ismore practicable than we s,:ppos~! HItlerdid go AROUND the Magmot lme-andhe did break thru the French army. He mayhave a way AROUND the Atlantic Oceanupon which we have depended so complac-ently for security!

Most of those who set themselves up asexpositors of Bible prophecy have hepn tell-ing you that America and Britain shall neverbe defeated --our nations shall always win.They point with pride to America andBritain as a righteous, holy, and Christianpeople.

But these are false prophets. The blunttruth is that our people are steeped in sin.Sin is the transgression of God's Law (IJohn 3:4), and in the pulpits of the landwe are assured this very law "is done away."Our people have forgotten GOD! And nowwe are trusting in the arm of flesh, and ofmaterial weapons, for the defeat of Hitler!

America Needs TOTAL DefenseThis is not a plea for military armament.

Far better that this nation throwaway everyplane, every battleship, every tank and everygun-far better that it disarm entirely andsend every soldier and sailor home,-andput on THE WHOLE ARMOUR OFGOD, than to plunge the entire resourcesof the wealthiest nation of earth's historyinto material armament-without God!

Today we stand arrayed against an in-spired Satanic enemy. Hitler stands revealedas "the BEAST" of Revelation. As such theDevil has given him his power and his au-thority, As such, Bible prophecy reveals heis imbued with the supernatural guidanceand power of Satan the devil. Material armsalone will never defeat such evil supernat-ural power! To defeat satanic Hitlerism,America must seek a greater supernaturalpower!

The God of old King Jehosaphat stilllives!

Jehoshaphat Had TOTAL DefenseListen to the actual history of "the arm-

our of God" in action!The allied armies of three gentile powers

were marching against ancient Judah. 'Thenthere came some that told Jehosaphat, say-ing, 'There cometh a great multitude againstthee from beyond the sea on this side ofSyria.' "

Did King Jehoshaphat, like King Asa,send money to hire gentile allies? Not he!"Jehoshaphat feared, and rf'! himself to .reekthe Lord, and proclaimed a FAST through-out all Judah. And Judah gathered them-selves together, to ask help of the Lord."(II Chron. 20:1-4).

Then came God's answer, thru one ofJudah's priests:

"Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabi-tants of Jerusalem, and thou King Jehosha-phat, Thus saith the Lord unto you, 'Be notafraid nor dismayed by reason of this greatmultitude; for the battle is not yours, butGOD'S. Tomorrow go ye down againstthem. . . . Ye shall not need to .fight in thisbattle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and seethe salvation of the Lord with you, 0 Judahand Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed;tomorrow go out against them: for theLORD will be with you!" (verses 15-17).

"And they rose early in the morning ...and when they began to sing and to praise,the Lord set ambushments against the child-ren of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir,which were come against Judah; and theywere smitten. For the children of Ammonand Moab stood up against the inhabitantsof Mount Seir utterly to slay and destroythem; and when they had made an end ofthe inhabitants of Seir, everyone helped todestroy another." (verses 20-23).

"And when Judah came toward thewatch tower in the wilderness, they lookedunto the multitude, and, behold, they weredead bodies fallen to the earth, and noneescaped." (verse 24).

How America Can Defeat Hitler

Yes, the God of Jehosaphat still lives!

And WE arc His chosen people,ISRAEL, today! But today our people haveforgotten God ! We have strayed far fromHIS ways-we are transgressing HIS law-we are proud and exhalt ourselves saying weare righteous!

And our God is now about to punish.Bible prophecy shows America stands, now,in mortal DANGER! If our president wouldnow do as King Jehosaphat did, and sol-emnly set himself to seek God's face, andGod's HELP, with fasting, and long hoursof earnest prevailing PRAYER, humblinghimself before God; if our president, as hispredecessor in office Abraham Lincoln did,would proclaim a day of FASTING ANDPRAYER throughout our land, and solemn-ly ask the HELP of our God, and thenRELY upon and TRUST IN that help; ifthis whole nation would confess its sins, re-pent of them, and turn to the God of itsfathers, putting on THE WHOLE ARM-OUR OF GOD, then this country wouldspeedily be delivered from that danger thatnow threatens!

For God has promised it "If mypeople," He promises, "shall humble them-selves, and PRAY, and seek my face, andTURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS,then will I hear from heaven, and will for-give their sin, and will heal their LAND."(II Chron, 7: 14).

But if our stiff-necked and rebelliouspeople go on DENYING the immediateperil, scoffing at the danger, trusting onlyin material and military defense and in suchunholy alliances as the government is enter-ing into with Communist Stalin, then theprophecy of Jeremiah 30 and 31--of Micah5:8-11-of the COMING invasion des-cribed all thru the Book of Ezekiel-shallhave to be fulfilled. America will have to godown in defeat, fantastic and impossiblethough that may seem. We shall be invaded,CONQUERED, and, as Ezekiel's prophecyamply foretell, and as Hitler now boasts, weshall be uprooted from our homes and trans-planted to OTHER lands across the seas--scattered, ruled over as slaves, .finally to berescued and delivered only by the SECONDCOMING OF JESUS CHRIST.

But, even though the nation as a wholefails to heed God's stern warning, yet YOUand YOUR FAMILY may be spared andplaced under divine PROTECTION, ifYOU will drop to your knees earnestly be-fore God, renc1ing your heart, confessingyour sins, throwing yourself upon Hismercy, WILLING to study His Word andto make it YOUR WAY OF LIFE thrufaith in His power!

"Watch ye therefore," warned Jesus,"and PRAY ALWAYS, that ye may be ac-counted worthy to escape ALL these thingsthat shall come to pass, and to stand beforethe Son of man." (Luke 21 :36).

And, be warned, the time is NOW!
