Stephan Guyenet received his B.S. in biochemistry at the University of Virginia, and his Ph.D. in neurobiology at the University of Washington. Bob Eckhardt, PhD (Paleoanthropology)

Bob Eckhardt is a Professor of Developmental Genetics and Evolutionary Morphology at Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on the interaction of genetic and environmental influences on growth and development in human populations, with special emphasis on musculo-skeletal structures. 

In 2004, Dr. Eckhardt's lab team aided a group of French researchers, in the analysis a 6 million year old fossil femur from Kenya, to move the date for earliest upright posture and bipedal locomotion from 4 million to 6 million years ago. 

Subsequently, Dr. Eckhardt has been involved in the debate starting in 2004 and continuing to the present regarding the discovery of a small sample of 100 bones on the island of Flores, Indonesia.  These remains were stated by their discoverers to establish a new hominid species, informally referred to as “the Hobbit.”
