4-H Newsletter for Paulding County 5th Grade Classroom Clubs - August 2018
Community Service 101: In 4-H, community service is how we demonstrate pledging “our hands to
larger service.” We want community service to be a part of your everyday life, not just something you
do during the holidays. To encourage your participation in community service, we present a monthly
community service award at each elementary school. We have a community service outreach each
month, and the club with the most class points, earns the award for that month. We encourage our
outreach as well as pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and used printer cartridges for
recycling that benefits our 4-H
program. Below is the 2017-2018 list for community service item(s) and local organization it supports for 5th grade 4-H’ers!

4-H Camp Corner
While summer’s almost over, we would like to share with you about our 4-H camp opportunities. This summer, we had 4-H’ers at every level go to 4-H camps, but the largest annual program is when our 5th and 6th graders go to Rock Eagle 4-H Center. In fact this year there were 138 Cloverleaf 4-H’ers who attended with some wonderful adult volunteers and Teen Leaders ! This is part of the 4-H experience and camp info will be available January with registration and deposit starting in February (dates are TBD by Georgia 4-H). It will also be sent through the classroom clubs and look for a 4-H Friends Book on camp, too.
