    TYPES OF PARTICIPLES

    Present Participles expresses an action in

    progress

    Ex: I was eating while you were watching TV

    Past Participle expresses a finished action.

    Ex; I have studied Latin

    The participles are used with auxiliaries BE andHAVE to make progress, Perfect( finished action)and passive verb forms with BE.

    USE:

    1-Participles can be used as adjectives before nouns.

    Ex; An interesting book

    2-After BE and other verbs

    Ex: I am tired

    He come tired

    3-Adjective can have objectsEx: Englishspeaking Canadiens (Not Speaking-

    english Canadiens)
