Dear Friends,
Lent has always been an extraordinary season in the life of the Church. But this one has been like none
other in our lifetimes. As our daily lives have been turned upside due to the pandemic, we have had to learn
new routines for work, for study, for prayer. We need to find new ways to pray with family and by ourselves. We
need personal prayer, reflection on Scripture, the Rosary and meditation lead us to a deeper relationship with
God at this time—so that when we have the opportunity to join together again at the Eucharist, we will feel re-
newed by Christ. Easter is just two weeks away. This Sunday’s Scriptures invite us to focus on God’s power to
give us new life, to free us from sin that we might live for him.
The Gospel of the raising of Lazarus (John, chapter eleven) gets our attention—as it surely did in the
days of Jesus. It is a wonderful miracle, bringing Lazarus back to this life, restoring his relationship with his fam-
ily. Yet, Jesus offers us much more—the promise of eternal life! As we pray this week, perhaps we can reflect
on the daily losses we experience now, bring them to Jesus and ask him to bring us new life. Is Jesus reaching
out to me even now, inviting me to share his new life, inviting me to live my faith more fully, more confidently?
Let Jesus speak to you in quiet prayer, and deepen your trust in him!
Peace and blessings,
Father Tom
Next Sunday is Palm Sunday. You may pick up palms, which will be blessed and available outside, by

MARCH 29, 2020
Queridos amigos,
Paz y bendiciones,
Padre Tom

FIFTH SUNDAY OF LENT
ACT OF SPIRITUAL COMMUNION
BODY + BLOOD + SOUL + DIVINITY
(To be prayed while you are at home viewing Mass)
My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most
Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You
into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramen-
tally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite
myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Oración para la Comunión Espiritual
Creo, Jesús mío,
que estás real
y verdaderamente en el cielo
y en el Santísimo Sacramento del Altar.
Te amo sobre todas las cosas
y deseo vivamente recibirte
dentro de mi alma,
pero no pudiendo hacerlo
ahora sacramentalmente,
ven al menos
espiritualmente a mi corazón.
