assets They start all over and doit all again and come out with aphoto real end product What wewant to do is eliminate thatmiddle step and start to close thegap between what our real timelooks like and what the finishedphoto real looks like Eventually15 years from now we should beworking real time in at a photoreal image almost like you dowith photography So itrsquos gettingt o t h e p o i n t w h e r e i t rsquo si n d i s t i n g u i s h a b l e f r o mphotography at the moment yourdoing it as opposed to waiting sixmonths or a year Okay so herersquos what Cameronis talking about in a bit moreelementary terms Film is shot and projected at 24frames per second Howeverthatrsquos a limitation of the mediumHumans move faster than that bynature so the higher the amountof frames one shoots the moreprecise the movement gets Forexample in Jackass 3D theyshot on a camera that shoots at

1000 frames per second thenproject it at 24 frames persecond So by projecting allthose frames in 24 frame speedit looks really slow But if thatfootage was projected at 1000frames per second it would justlook really crisp Camerondoesnrsquot want his movies to bethat fast just faster than 24 andbecause hersquos shooting digitallyand not on film he can do thatComputers can do anythingAnd according to him thecurrent 3D digital projectors canhandle a higher frame rate Hejust has to figure out what worksbest for him and his imagesOnce he does the films will lookcleaner and not have anyldquomotion artifactingrdquo whichbasically means blurring I lovethat he says ldquoso thatrsquos one littlebump Irsquom working onrdquo Youknow just totally changing thew a y f i l m s a r e m a d e a n dd i s p l a y e d The second ldquolittle bumprdquo hersquosworking on is improving the
