DECLINE the pallavasPallavas a major kingdom that ruled Southern part of India from 350 A.D. to 895 A.D.Their Capital was Kanchipuram, a temple town of Tamilnadu.Narasimhavarman was the famous Pallava King. He was instrumental in winning a war against the Chalukyas and earned a Title MahamallaPallavas encouraged Sanskrit and Tamil.Kanchi has many temples like Kamakshi, varadaraja, Ekambaranath etc.,

Hiuen Tsang visited Kanchi during his regime.He built a city called Mahabalipuram on the sea shorePallavas encouraged literature, musing, art, religion architecture.

The Chalukyan army invaded the Pallava kingdom and even threatened its Capital Kanchipuram.

Aparajitavarman was the last king of the Pallava dynasty. With his defeat by the Chola king the Pallava power finally came to an end about the close the 9th century.

From his successors the decay of the Pallava authority began. Aggression from the Pandyas in the South and that of the Rashtrakutas in the North had eclipsed their glory.
