THE TOFIL AWARDS — RECOGNIZING EMINENT

FILIPINOS

The Outstanding Filipino (TOFlL) Award was conceived

by the JCI Senate Philippines in 1988, to institutionalize

public recognition of men and women, 41 years age and over,

whose exemplary achievements are worthy of emulation.

The JCI Senate Philippines believes that there are many

men and women aged 41 and over who deserve recognition

for their contributions to society, and who should have

qualified to the TOYM except that they are beyond the age

limit rule governing the TOYM award. It enlisted the support

of Insular Life in an endeavor that would give due recognition

to these people. Thus, the TOFIL Awards was born in 1988.

The partnership between JCI Senate Philippines and Insular

Life ended in 2014 with ANSA Foundation, Inc. coming in as

new institutional partner in 2016.

The JCI Senate Philippines is an organization of Junior

Chamber International (JCI) members who, in recognition

of their outstanding achievements and contribution to the

JCI movement, have awarded lifetime membership as JCI

Senators.

The ANSA Foundation, Inc. (AFI) was formed by AGI

in 2002, in cooperation with national scientists from the

University of the Philippines— Los Baños (UPLB) to promote

the development of the Philippine livestock industry through

modern and scientific techniques of breeding. AF! is focused

on research and development, training and advancement of

stakeholders in the domestic cattle industry.
