Announced

After a month of Facebook activity, we

closed the entries for our Facebook

competition to win 1 of 3 new ipad minis

and we have our winners .

So, congratulations to :

Have fun with them guys!

Asides seasonal goodwill however, there

is a business motive to running such a

competition. Our objective was to

increase awareness of the three new

Facebook Pages created for Ortus

Property Services, resulting in increased

page views and new likes.

For example, the Dairy Farm Shopping

Centre page experienced a 187% increase

in unique likes through the month, whilst

Twin Spires Complex page experienced a

96% increase.

As a result, this has exposed the pages to

new Facebook users, which in turn canresult in new customers for your

business - so please keep sending your

offers through to us along with pictures

and we will put them onto the relevant

pages.

The annual Tenants Christmas gathering

took place in Curran House this year, with

new tenants Dantes Catering providingthe food for the event.

We also had some lucky prize winners,

with Ash Khosla from Magic Eye Design

winning a Suki Tea Gift Set.

Show Your Support forJam and put it on your

Window...!

In the hustle of bustle of

everyday we can all need a bit

of space and understanding.

What if you had a learning

disability or difficulty and felt

this way often? A group at

Kidnap Wednesday told us

that they often felt under

pressure when they were out and about and would

like a discreet way of letting people know that they

needed some extra time.

Cleverly, NOW have introduced a solution to the

problem and with a grant from the Police and Com-

munity Safety Partnership, have developed the JAM

card. It is a credit card sized plastic card that people

with learning disabilities/difficulties can carry and

pass over to shop staff, bus drivers etc when they feel

that they need a bit of extra time and patience.

The card features a contemporary design and a short

but effective message - Just a Minute.

The word is spreading about JAM card, with clients

and support workers educating local businesses,

public transport workers, taxi drivers and community

groups about learning disability/difficulties and

asking them to display a sticker in their windowstating their support for JAM card holders.

For NOW, inclusion in the community for their clients

is crucial and that these clever cards will create em-

powerment as well as educating the local commu-

nity. Throughout Belfast more than 300

individuals are now using the JAM card and over 200

local businesses and services are displaying the

support sticker in their windows and the Project are

confident that these figures will grow steadily.

People using the JAM cards have said that they make

them feel more confident when they are out and

about in town, something most of us take for granted

each day. In rolling out the stickers to local shop

owners, NOW have had the opportunity to tell them

more about their work and further educate the local

public on these matters.

So why dont you show your support for this initiativeand put JAM on your window? You will be supporting

an excellent cause and opening up new opportunities

for users of the cards - after all, you can only increase

your trade as a result!

OIN Interactive

Eoin Lennon started trading in 2007 after a

realisation that jobs specialising in Programming and

Graphic Design were hard to come by in NorthernIreland.

Following a start up programme with Invest NI, Eoin

developed his business plan and acquired the

necessary skills to run a business. From there he set

about trying to increase awareness of his new

business, which he said himself has been the biggest

challenge to date, especially whilst operating within a

heavy recession.

However, Eoin battles through has stuck with it,

which is certainly what we too would recommend.

There is always support available and when times are

tough, talk to others and do your research - dont

give up. Eoin mentioned that despite the current

times we operate in, driving around Belfast and

seeing work you have designed on billboards which

has pleased your customers will bring a smile to the

face.
