Dignity tableware provides aid to individuals living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and any other physical or mental impairments. The innovative Dignity range has been specially designed to allow individuals to maintain their independence and dignity, whilst assisting with nutrition and hydration.
AssistiveTABLEWARE
Committed to developing innovative ways to address everyday challenges, each piece of Dignity ceramic is made from Vitrifi ed Earthenware with added Alumina for extra strength so they are less likely to break if dropped. Each product comes in three colours - yellow, green and white - to help with the visibility of food and drink at the table.
The Dignity range is the result of in-depth research and testing, including work carried out by Stirling University Dementia Services Development Centre.
Eating and drinking is very important in dementia. Having attractive crockery and cutlery can make a big difference to our appetite and how we enjoy our food. People with dementia have special requirements. They need coloured plates that allow them to see what they are eating and the plates need to be easy to use with rims to help scooping and lifting food. Cups need to have big enough handles for two fi ngers to slip through.
At the Dementia Services Development Centre, we are always interested in new ideas and Wade’s display of crockery shows a range of the best we have seen so far.
