CTRACKING THE TIGERS
“The nice thing is individually we control all of those
things in PCE,” Bell said.
E Everyone has dreams of being great, but to actually go
out and make it happen through hard work is something
we strive for. It has to do with effort.

THE OPENING DRIVE
CENTURY MARK CLOSE FOR BELL
We talk about it being an all-the-time thing, not when it
is comfortable or convenient. What kind of player do
you want to be? What kind of impact do you want to
have on the program?
The three letters "PCE" is a cultural blueprint that Twinsburg
coach Mike Bell wants his program to follow each day.
2016 SCHEDULE GAME DAY 360
1-2 Overall; 0-0 Suburban League
Twinsburg
Twinsburg coach Mike Bell is one win away from reaching 100 career wins.
Bell had huge success as head coach of Lake Catholic from 2002-2013 and had one year at Eastlake North before taking over the Tigers before the 2015 season.
“It is a special number and there are a lot of phenomenal coaches who have reached that number,” Bell said. “To have the opportunity to achieve that goal says a lot about the coaches I have coached with and the great players I have been lucky enough to be around.”
Twinsburg will head to Serpentini Stadium in North Royalton on Sept. 16 in search of the team’s first win of the season when the Tigers face the host Bears in a Suburban League National Conference opener.
North Royalton defeated North Ridgeville to start the season, but has lost two straight. The Bears like to run the ball with talented junior Jake Franczak and QB Joe Marousek. Defensively, North Royalton has allowed an average of 31 points per game this season.
Twinsburg is led offensively by QB Jalen Tucker and sophomore standout wide receiver Tre Radford. The offensive line is a unit with potential and talent.
Defensively, the Tigers are getting a big season out of linebacker Isaiah Savitt. James Grammens and others will be called on by Coach Mike Bell to slow down the Bears ground game.
North Royalton won a close game between the teams last year 23-18, at Tiger Stadium.

TWINSBURG TIGER STADIUM
Twinsburg Tiger Stadium is one of the most used athletic facilities in Northeast Ohio. Twinsburg officials say
Tiger Stadium's field gets used upwards of 950 times each year for various athletic events and practices --
from football, to soccer, to Relay For Life, to regional sporting events.
In the summer of 2015, the Stadium received a major upgrade to the playing surface. New field turf was
installed featuring a unique blue border and a large Tiger logo at midfield. The 'grass' has a “paneled” look
of lighter and darker green shades every five yards replacing a the carpet that was installed in 2005.
Tiger Stadium has become a perennial site for OHSAA football playoff games, hosting two games last year
including the Region 23 championship game.
Mike Bell is entering his second year as coach of the Tigers and is looking to build on his past successes, bringing winning football back to Twinsburg.
Prior to coming to Twinsburg, Bell served one year as the head coach at Eastlake North and had a very successful 12-year run as head coach at Lake Catholic in Mentor.
In 12 seasons at Lake Catholic, the Cougars won 6 NCL Championships, qualified for the state playoffs 8 times (playoff record of 17-8) with 5 Regional Title appearances (2003, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010) and 3 state semifinal appearances (2007, 2009, and 2010).
Prior to 2002, Bell served as the Cougars' defensive coordinator for three seasons, winning the Division III State Championship in 2001.
Prior to coaching at Lake Catholic, Bell spent three years at Willoughby South as a position coach and defensive coordinator, four years at Maple Heights, and two seasons at his alma mater Pymatuning Valley.
The first step toward creating an improved future is developing the ability to envision it.
VISION will ignite the fire of passion, which fuels our commitment to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to achieve excellence.
Only VISION allows us to transform dreams of greatness into the reality of achievement through human action.
VISION has no boundaries and knows no limit.
Our VISION is what we become in life.
Tre Radford
The sophomore receiver had seven catches for 109 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Aurora.
Isaiah Savitt
The promising sophomore linebacker had four tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack in the setback vs. Aurora.

1. How important do you feel the role of athletics plays in the lives of the students who participate at Twinsburg High School?I am convinced (and have data to support this) that students who participate in organized sports or an activity after school are better adjusted academically and socially to school and society as a whole. Too much idle time in a teenager's world is not a good thing. Athletics, in particular, teaches students first hand about discipline, time management, and healthy living. In addition, I have not met a more dedicated group of adults than a coaching staff-regardless of the sport. The positive adult presence in those athletes' lives is priceless. Hence, why I believe the role of athletics in a student's life is SUPER important.
2. What is your favorite part of the Friday night game day experience? At Twinsburg and in general....I have two....the beginning of the game ...when our players run onto the field (through the inflated tiger head) ...carrying the "T" flag and running ... I always feel that sense of excitement and energy from the players and our super fans. Hard to contain!! Then in general , it has to be the immediate moment after an athlete scores and his teammates rally around him, congratulating him in support. Regardless if they get along or not...at that moment ...everyone appreciates what that player did for his team and that school. Love that moment!!
3. Is there a sense of pride in the fact that the facilities at Twinsburg, particularly the football stadium, are so widely regarded among the best in Northeast Ohio and that the OHSAA continues to hold playoff games there?Immense pride! Since I came to Twinsburg...I have worked almost all of the Football playoff games. I welcome other schools' admin teams, OHSAA refs, and other staff that the two schools bring. They often thank us. We appreciate their presence more than they know. When the sun sets and the stadium lights are on and folks haven't all arrived yet, it looks like that scene in FIELD OF DREAMS ....truly majestic.
4. What is the most rewarding part of being principal at Twinsburg HS?Seeing the kids succeed and come back and thank a staff member!! Amazing part of this job! I have been in education for 30+ years. (Brush High-SE/L, Bedford, and Twinsburg) No matter which building I was a part of...to hear a student or parent come back and thank someone that was instrumental in their lives makes all of the 5:00am wake up alarms worth it !! That little bit of appreciation goes a long way for a Principal!

1950 - The Cleveland Browns (formerly All American Football Conference) play the franchise's first NFL game, beating the defending NFL Champion Ealges 35-10 in Philadelphia, in front of a then-record 71,500 fans. The Browns racked up 457 yards in total offense, scoring 21 points in the second half to put the game away. The Browns used a passing attack that totaled 316 yards and after the game the Eagles coaches and management were upset that Browns used the pass so much, critizing Cleveland as an 'upstart basketbll team'.
2007 - The Cincinnati Bengals beat the Cleveland Browns 51-45 as Bengals QB Carson Palmer throws 6 TDs. Browns QB Derek Anderson is just as efficient, tossing five touchdowns. Cleveland had 554 total yards and Cincinnati had 531.
