Welcome Visitors and Members! We hope that your experience today will add something meaningful to your life in Christ Jesus. If you are new to the area and would like more information about this church, let us know. If you are just visiting our island community, then we hope to see you again. Would you like to confess

your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away

from home with the Lord, you may also make your desires known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Share the Good News! Free Bible studies and much more are available at our congregation’s web site Cedar Key Church of Christ. We also have the church’s weekly Bulletin on our web site.

pattern for the future temple? (1 Chr. 28:19)

Jesus Needs Malleable Followers

Jesus replied, “If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” (John 14:23 NIV)

Recently during a TV interview regarding a couple of the current leading presidential candidates, the interviewer asked a citizen which person they would vote for in the upcoming election. The person replied, “neither one of them appears to me to have a malleable personality.” In other words the candidates mentioned did not give her the impression that they wanted to become servants of the people according to the laws of the land. In the same way, Jesus calls us to faithfully serve him according to his teaching. Today’s disciples of Christ must overcome anything in our thinking that causes us to want to always have the last word even when dealing with God’s word. Our attitude should be: “Let God’s word by the last word in any spiritual matter.” (Romans 7:6) Everyone who follows Christ as Lord because of the price he paid for our sins, have been released from the requirements of the written code. (Romans 8:5-9, 29) The indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives makes us into the spiritual person we need to be as we offer ourselves as slaves of Christ Jesus. (1 Corinthians 7:22) Whether we are slave or free we are all free in Christ. We enjoy freedom from slavery to the old life of sin that was without hope. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20) Our great leader purchased us with his blood. The least we can do is live an honorable life. Determine that whatever we do in this body of flesh will not bring any shame to our God and King who loves us always.

Think often and pray often asking God to mold us and shape us into the person he wants us to be forever. “Have thine own way Lord.”

Make ourselves available to the Holy Spirit by yielding to the good and perfect will of Christ.

Become a good example to our family, fellow
