again. Would you like to confess your faith in Jesus Christ and repent of your sins today? Come forward during the last song and we will assist you in obeying Christ as Lord – or let us know your desire some other time. We can arrange a time for your baptism into Christ. If you are a Christian and wandered away from home with the Lord, you may also make your desires known and we will pray for God to forgive your sins, and fully restore you to Jesus Christ and joyful fellowship with other Christians.

Jesus is the reason for the season! Many families are travelling now. Have safe travel!

The Cedar Key Clothe-A-Child Fund needs you! Over two decades ago, a Cedar Key School teacher was shocked to see so many of her preschoolers in flip-flops or without suitable coats during the week of bitterly cold winds and weather in early December. She discovered many of the parents were undergoing financial hardship After taking her discovery to the ladies at the local Methodist church, the Cedar Key Clothe-a-Child Fund was born. Soon, every Rosewood and Cedar Key area church provided at least one representative to help raise money via annual, bi-annual (or “ as needed”) community-wide drives, initiated by area churches, for warm winter clothing for CKS students and to shop for items. The Fund has expanded to include back-to-school garments and shows as well as required club or sports attire that’s often too pricey for certain children wanting to participate. In addition, the school nurse and pre-school and kindergarten teachers benefit from having their own private box of socks and underwear for both boys and girls and unisex, elasticized shorts and knit pants to use for accidents at school throughout the year. THE CEDAR KEY CLOTHE-A-CHILD FUND ALWAYS MAKES CONFIDENTIALITY A PRIORITY! Today, students are first deemed in need by teachers or the school nurse who then quietly acquire sizes through the parents – or many times measure the child – and either shop themselves or alert the church representatives who then use Clothe-a-Child Fund dollars raised through the church and community wide drives. Store tags are always removed before underwear, socks, jeans, coats, shirts or shoes are passed on to the school nurse who then discreetly has the child try on and declare, usually, a perfect fit! If any exchanges are necessary, the church or school representatives make them personally. All shopping receipts are filed with the Fund’s records. Throughout the years, beneficiaries of the Cedar Key Clothe-a-Child Fund have included children of single, working moms and dads, those of dual, working parents, students that have been “taken in” to live with a friend’s family, and those in cancer-stricken families as well as those who have incurred the loss, recently, of a parent. In addition, the Cedar Key Clothe-a-Child Fund has assisted elderly grandparents who

have found themselves rearing little ones again! At times, the objective is just a pair of tennis shoes that fit while, on other occasions, it’s a “head-to-toe” goal! The monies within the Cedar Key Clothe-a-Child Fund are funning a bit low and, considering, the winter season in just beginning, the 2015-16 fundraising drive is now underway. Also, new families tend to move to the area after the first of the year; many that have school-aged children require assistance. Laura Robinson (543-9505) is the representative for the Cedar Key Church of Christ. See her to pass along any questions or needed information on those who might not yet be identified as beneficiaries. To donate, write checks to the Cedar Key Church of Christ, but designate Cedar Key Clothe-a-Child Fund in the bottom corner to separate it from the regular contribution checks. Again, thank you for keeping shoes on the tiniest Cedar Key feet!
