While this month is quiet as we recover from Potrero War, there are some important events coming up in the next few months. This coming weekend, we are hosting the Princess’s Champion Equestrian event due to rescheduling. Thanks to our Equestrian Guild and marshals for making this event happen on short notice.

After that, on June 11th, please join us up at Gylden- holt Anniver- sary, where our Cousins, Barons Giles and Giuseppe, step down after a glorious reign. Their wor- thy heirs, Illia and Vitasha, have large shoes to fill, and we look for- ward to welcoming them to the thrones of our Northern neighbors.

In July, we have Lyondemere Anniversary on July 9th, which will also have the 50th year display for Caid. This display contains many relics of Caidian and Calafian history and we encourage you to go up and see it if you are not travelling to the 50 year celebration yourself! After Lyondomere is our valuable Comic-Con demo followed by Arts in the Park. If you are attending Comic-Con in anyway, we ask that you put on your Chatelaine hat and help out as you can. Regardless of that, Arts in the Park is fantastic event, showcasing all of our wonderful guilds as well as recruiting those interested from the various Demos in July.

As always, Calafia shows itself to be the greatest Barony in the Knowne Worlde. Thank you all for being part of the Dream that is Caid and Calafia. You all make us proud.

In service to Calafia,

Guy Rand and Muirrenn

Greetings, Calafia! What an amazing War! The weather was once more cool and inviting. The fighting was fierce but friendly and our amazing A&S team had even more classes than ever before. We want to thank our Event Stewards, Baroness Deirdre, Mistress Reina, and THL Rhua, and their hardwor- king staff for a great, fun filled event. We had a great time visi- ting with friends from Calafia and abroad, fighting, teaching, and volunteering. War is a collabo- rative effort, from the team that puts it on to the populace that makes it happen. We cannot have this event without the thousands of volun-teer hours put in by some many over the week-end and months prior to the event. Thank for to everyone who made the trek once more to Potrero. And a special thanks to all of those who volunteered to help out to make the event, Arts classes and the fighting happen. Many awards were given on the fields, in the encampments during Roving Court and during Closing Court. Congratulations to all these worthy gentles!

Just before War this year was another important event, Crown Tournament! We travelled up to Al-Sahid, surviving treacherous winds to watch and cheer for Calafian contenders. It was a great day of fighting, with honor and Chivalry on display. Our knights represented us well on the field, but in the end it was His Highness, Ozmund Rus who carried the day and joined us at Potrero War. Please join us in welcoming Their Highnesses, Ozmund Rus and Marissa Rus, when they join us in our Dear Barony.

With Potrero War behind us, we’ve a small lull in local events before the Fall season kicks into high gear – but don’t let that stop you from getting involved! On Sunday, June 5th, Queen’s Champion Equestrian will be taking place at the Tumbleweed Ranch. In addition, there are many wonderful events coming up all over the kingdom this month and beyond, so be sure to take a look at the calendar for a full listing.

If you don’t feel like traveling, we have numerous Guild meetings every month to match every interest, so this Summer may be the perfect time to try out a new craft, or meet some new friends.

As always, if you’re not sure where to get started, feel free to email [email protected] – we’re always happy to help. See you around the Barony!

In service,

Lady Isolde, Chatelaine
