Hi Everyone ~ Summer is coming to a fast end I am sorry to say. The Club Cruise to Rock & Dock really rocked!! The 2nd annual Corn Roast was awesome. Thanks to Anna and Paul and, of course, Anna's mom, for bringing us the corn. I hear the video of Al Dubeansky in the corn eating contest is still a big hit. The “new member” pool party was also fun. I would like to thank everyone who participated. We still have some great events coming, such as the Golf Outing, the fishing tournament, Clambake and don't forget the Ladies Luncheon. Keep an eye on your email for any updates on these events. Flyers are attached too.

Vicegerents View ~ As summer winds down and indoor activities increase, I look forward to seeing all of you for Browns games on Sundays starting September 10, and then on Friday nights, once those start back up in late October. The pool will not be open for too many more weeks, so enjoy it while you can. Even with the pool closed, the patio will still be a great place to gather and relax with friends well into the fall. We also have the Golf Outing and the Perch Tournament/Dinner to look forward to. I would like to say again that as I begin planning for next year, I would like to invite anyone that would like to get or stay involved with the happenings around the Club by participating in any of the committees, to contact me at [email protected] or 440-668-8866. Beyond that, not much to say except, enjoy the rest of the boating season!!

Hi All ~ Not much to report on the grounds-front this month. With all the new members that we have, please introduce yourself and make them feel welcome. Also, work with them if they have any questions about the rules and by-laws. As we start to move into cooler weather, please be cautious and courteous of your fires. And thank you to the 7/8ers for an awesome Pig Roast. In closing to all, use your boat and enjoy the Club; we are on the downhill side of summer. As always, if you have any questions, contact me at [email protected] or call after 4:00p M-F or text anytime.

Thank you to all who joined us for the Club cruise to Rock & Dock. A good time was had by all. A special thank you to Ellie Chalko for organizing the Indians game gathering. Heading down the stretch to the end of the year - all is well and relatively within budget and/or accountability. In October I will be putting together our 2018 Budget. I need to know, prior to that point, if there are any proposed projects for 2018 that need to be incorporated in the operating budget. These are in the nature of an extraordinary item that is not a Capital improvement (large) item. Please let me know ASAP or they will not be budgeted. I know it’s over a month away, but lift-out/winter storage will begin at the end of September through October. I will send out Winter Storage contracts before the end of September to all those who have stored their boats with us last year. Also, I will leave blank copies on the Treasurer's box in the Clubhouse for anyone who has not received one. For new members this year who want to store at the Club, the cost is $9 per foot, based on your LOA, and payment for winter storage must be paid in full before your boat can be lifted. The Fleet Captain, Joe Prucey, and travel lift operators will be notified accordingly. Also, if you are in arrears of your summer dockage contract terms, you will not be lifted until your financial obligations are current. If you have any questions regarding your financial obligations, please see me or call me at (440) 725-2203.

The date of the fish tournament and fish fry is September 16 and 23, respectively. P/C Dawn Brewer has volunteered to chair the tournament and I will chair the dinner. If you want to help prepare and/or cook the fish for dinner, please let me know. See the attached flyer for tournament rules and details regarding the dinner. Thanks Dawn for your help with this event!!

The LCYC Annual Golf Outing will be held at St. Denis Golf Club on Saturday September 9, 2017. A highlight of the evening is the awarding of golf and raffle prizes. Your donation will make this part of the outing a tremendous success. We are requesting a $100.00 donation as a Hole Sponsor. As a Hole Sponsor, a professional sign will be placed on one of the golf holes. You will also receive recognition at dinner via the program and additional signage. We also hope that you will join us for a fun day at the course. Please make your checks payable to Jerry Schaffer. You can hand it to me personally or mail it to me at 9120 Forest Lane, Chesterland OH 44026. Please advise exactly how you want your sign to read. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Any questions? See the attached flyer or call me - 440-667-6737.

My report is that for two straight months everyone is happy and healthy. Keep it up! If you have any news (good or bad), don't forget to send me the details. I can be reached by e-mail at [email protected] or via my home phone at 440-729-1583 or cell at 440-382-5003.

Just a note to remind everyone that all Officer positions (Commodore, Vice Commodore, Rear Commodore, Fleet Captain, Secretary, and Treasurer), as well as two Trustee positions, which are two-year terms, are open for election. If you are interested in holding an office and you have not yet contacted me, please call or text me soon at (216) 214-3361. Interviews will be conducted shortly after Labor Day. The slate of Officers/Trustees will be announced at the October 5th General Membership meeting and voting for your 2018 Officers/Trustees will take place at the General Membership meeting on Thursday, November 2. The Ladies Luncheon/Chinese Auction is fast approaching. Tickets for the event are $15.00 and go on sale starting Friday, September 8. Contact Debbie Gudowicz to reserve your ticket. After September 15, they go on sale to the general public. Don’t get shut out! As you can imagine, an event of this magnitude is only successful with the help and support of its Club members. We are asking that each member make a contribution to the auction. It can be time, talent and/or treasure. By definition, “treasure” means new items not used. We are in need of: individual items to create baskets; already completed baskets; and even cash so that we can do the shopping for you. We also need large empty baskets. If you won something in past years, consider donating your empty basket so that you can win it again . A flyer is attached with more details and basket suggestions.

If you have information for inclusion in the October edition of the Anchor News, please send a note to [email protected]
