Principal’s Column
There’s a piece of writing that I like and often
share with teachers – especially Foundation
teachers. And here it is:
Most of what I really need to know about how to
live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in
Kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the
graduate school mountain, but there in the
sandbox at nursery school.
These are the things I learned: Share everything.
Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where
you found them. Clean up your own mess. Don't
take things that aren't yours. Say you're sorry
when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands
before you eat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold
milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn
some and think some and draw and paint and
sing and dance and play and work some every
day.
Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out
into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands, and
stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember
the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go
down and the plant goes up and nobody really
knows how or why, but we are all like that.
Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even
the little seed in the plastic cup - they all die. So
do we.

And then remember the book about Dick and
Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest
word of all: LOOK . Everything you need to know
is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love
and basic sanitation, ecology and politics and
sane living.
Think of what a better world it would be if we all
- the whole world - had cookies and milk about
3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with
our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy
in our nation and other nations to always put
things back where we found them and clean up
our own messes. And it is still true, no matter
how old you are, when you go out into the world,
it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Sustainability
Looking after the chickens is an important job. We
need to make sure they have a good life. This means
we should not hurt them, throw them, chase them or
make loud noises. We should feed them and make
sure they’ve got the right amount of water.
When you are trusted to do a job like looking after
the chickens you should do it correctly, look after any
equipment you use, do the job quickly and follow the
rules and instructions. We
should be kind to all living things, take care of
ourselves, take care of any equipment we use and be
honest.

Carols Night
Girls T20 Cricket Team And they’re off to the MCG……….
They did it! Congratulations to our girls T20 Cricket
Team who were once again successful at the Regional
Final and have now won through to the State
Championships at the MCG today, Thursday 30th
November. What a fantastic performance! Last year
it was the boys, but this year it’s the girls turn and
good on ‘em!
Thank you to all the parents for all their wonderful
support on Tuesday and with their help getting the
team to the game. A special mention to Chris Clewer
who gave up so much of his time to help get the girls
this far, and offering his coaching expertise and
support to the girls as well. Good luck at the MCG
girl.
We know you will do us proud.
The State Final team are Abbey Taylor, Yifen, Charli,
Audrey Hughes, Grace Jory, Ava, Eve and Ella.
You Go Girls!!
PFA Helpers Just a reminder PFA always welcomes assistance
from families and friends at any time.
PFA works very hard to provide fun events for
students, create memories for children and families
and to raise money for the school to get extra items
our students might otherwise not have.
All the events run by PFA takes volunteers and a lot
of time and effort before, after and during events.
There are purchase orders, trips to shops for
supplies, money counting, form sorting, spread
sheets, preparing food and sorting and delivering
items to students classrooms to name a few.
Many PFA members give up a lot of their time to
work alongside the school to run these events for
students and families, and ongoing support and
assistance is always welcome.
If anyone is interested in assisting PFA or would like
more information on how they can help please

ICYPOLES :
This Tues PFA sold more zooper doopers than it has
ever sold in the past by more than 100 !!!
Unfortunately PFA has some limitations on how
many zooper doopers we can fit in the freezer at
any one time but we do apologize to any students
that missed out and we will do our best to ensure
there are plenty available for all students for the rest
of the term.
STUDENT ART WORX /AVER and LINE:
All students should have received their calendars/
diaries or cards if ordered this week, and any
portraits ordered are now available from office.
Both these events were organised by PFA as a
service to our families rather than as "fundraisers".
PFA made the decision to reduce the cost of the Art
Worx products dramatically to reduce funds raised
and make the products more available to families to
simply provide keepsakes rather than raise funds.
Aver and Line is offered as an option for those
families that may not have had family portraits since
their children were in kinder or childcare, and the
funds raised are minimal, but the hope is families
will have the opportunity to get at least one portrait
for $15. PFA thank the families that supported
these events and hope families now have many
memories to look back on.
