New Orleans Ninth Ward to CBD TIGER III Funding Application

The Notice of Funding Availability was published in the Federal Register on August 12, 2011. The Preliminary Application deadline was October 3.The Application deadline was October 31. Initially, grant awards were not anticipated until late in the first quarter of 2012.On November 2, President Obama directed US DOT to complete the awards process in 2011.

Next Steps• Proceed with the NEPA process, which will

begin with the Existing Conditions Report and Conceptual Design.

• During the NEPA process, public and agency input will be sought concerning design details.

• Preliminary Design of the Elysian Fields Ave to Poland Ave segment is substantially complete, but consultations with the State Historic Preservation Officer and the Historic District Landmarks Commission have not been completed.
