Welcome!

As the snow starts to melt and we all dream of warm sunshine, the Art House is as cozy and creative as ever. As Winter comes to an end, we are thinking spring - with new classes, workshops and new fun and exciting summer camps! We have been working closely with our instructors creating our spring classes and workshop - we are thrilled to welcome new artists who are planning workshops to go with our upcoming exhibits. Jennifer will return in Spring with more calligraphy classes. Sasha continues to guide all students in drawing and painting. Maria will be teaching several new workshops and 3-week classes. Julie will continue teaching drawing and painting to all ages. Nancy will continue to guide the intermediate and advanced painters on their pieces. We are honored to have such a talented group of instructors here to share their skills, and help students thrive. There truly is a class to fit every student's need and creative fancy.

Our Arts and Acts festival will be back downtown Northville this summer 2019, opening Friday, June 21 -Sunday, June 23. This event is our largest fundraiser for the Northville Art House. - Mark your Calendars!

For 3 plus years, I have been a part of the Northville Art House, I welcome the opportunity to continue where Amanda Barnett left off, as Executive Director, to continue the growth of the Art House and our mission. Ryan and I will be working together to develop programs, exhibits, fundraising, and marketing. We at the Art House are extremely grateful to each and every one of our members and supporters who make this journey to bring the arts and education to our community possible. We are so glad you choose to join us.

Thank you, and I look forward to welcome you on your next visit to be A pART of it!

Executive Director Erin Maten Our History The arts have had a presence in our community for many years. Over the last 35 years, many of the arts-related activities in the City of Northville have been either spearheaded or supported by a passionate group of volunteers through the Northville Arts Commission and has grown into the Art House. Founded in 1980, the Northville Arts Commission is a volunteer organization dedicated to “involve the community in all phases of the arts”. After 25 years, we were thrilled to find a home of our own at 215 W. Cady. Community volunteers spent almost 8 months cleaning and renovating the building to include a gallery, classroom, offices, and a small artisan store. We held a grand opening for the Northville Art House in March of 2005, and are thrilled to see how the space has grown over the last 14 years. We hope you enjoy the exhibits, classes, and artisan store as much as we do. Sue Taylor Chairperson, Northville Arts Commissions
