Norsemen Transportation

It is made of overlapping wooden planks, with each of them sizing up to 36 meters. The longships had sails and oar,

which made the ship very fast and helped them with sudden attacks at night.

The draft of the longship was shallow compared to other ships, so they could reach more inland , making it easier to get to the destination. The speed of the ship is about 10~11 knots, which is about 12 miles per hour.
