A noun’s the name of anything…

…as in school or garden, slide or swing.

Adjectives describe the kind of noun …

…as in great or small, pretty, white or brown.

Instead of nouns the pronouns fit…

…as in he and you and they and it.

Verbs tell of something being done…

…to read or write, sing, jump or run.

How, when and where the adverbs tell…

…as in slowly, still or now or well.

Conjunctions join the words together…

…as in men and women, wind or weather.

Conjunctions

The preposition stands before the noun…

…as in through a window or under the crown.

Three little words you often see..

…are articles a, an and the.

Remember, a noun is the name of anything as in school or garden, slide or swing.
