Based on Directives of International Bodies (ISO and IEC), all standards relative to Management Systems shall acquire through time a coherent structure among themselves, with common text and terminology, in order to favour an alignment between all standards on Management Systems.

The new ISO 9001:2015 e ISO 14001:2015 have been written according to this principle, so that their structure is now symmetrical.

This common structure undoubtedly promotes the development of an integrated Management System and its evaluation and significantly favours timing and resources optimization.

The new Standards are made of 10 chapters that are then divided into specific requirements per each Standard. Then the requirements in common between the two Standards are lined out.

The 10 chapters are:

ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 were published in September 2015.

They fully substitute the ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 issues that are now officially withdrawn, but that will continue to be internationally valid during the transition period.

The transition period is going to last for 3 years starting from the Standards publishing dates.

For this reason:

• Certificates released according to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 remain valid until September 15th 2018.

• All new Certificates released according to the old Standards issue, remains inevitably valid until September 15th 2018 (end of the transition period).

At the end of the transition period, all certificates released according to ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 will be no longer valid and will be withdrawn.

The transfer to the new Standards issue can be done during each surveillance or reassessment audit inside the certification path.

When deciding to transfer the certificate during a surveillance or reassessment audit, the audit duration is slightly increased in order to allow the audit to the main new Standard’s requirements.

If your company wishes to transfer the Certificate to the new Standards issues before the usual surveillance or reassessment audit scheduled times, you can apply for a specific transfer audit in addition to the other compulsory scheduled audits. If so, please be informed that you will receive a specific and separate quotation for this transfer activity.

All the Organizations that are willing to transfer their certificate to the new standard issue, shall communicate their decision before performing the planned audit, in order to allow a correct planning and timing calculation along with a correct transfer activity management.
