DesertificationAccording to UN estimates, 52% of the world’s
agricultural land is moderately or
severely affected by soil degradation, and affects 1.5 billion
people globally. Further, drought and desertification are causing
the annual loss of 120,000 square kilometers of land around the
world, an area larger than the size of the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and
Bahrain combined. This has a severe impact on food security,
biodiversity, socio- economic stability and development and is a
challenge for the Middle East region.
The Arab world contains around one third of the world’s deserts.
Most Arab countries have insufficient water resources, and this
makes the region especially vulnerable to desertification and
drought.
The effects of drought and desertification across the region are
not only environmental, but also come at an extreme human
cost.
Our SolutionWe have searched for a solution that is cost
efficient en easy to use.
Years of research resulted in a revolutionary gel and production
process. Our gel can be sprayed on every possible carrier. After
spraying a polymerization process creates a dry product with the
ability to absorb, store and conserve fluid in seconds.

Description of the productThe production process consists of
applying the BioGel 901 through a special spray
technique on and in a carrier and will be completed by an UV
process. Consequently, the gel is fixed on the carrier.
Depending on end-use demand the amount of gel connected to the
carrier can be determined. The more gel on the carrier, the higher
the absorption capacity. Market Research shows there is a need for
different absorption levels, which differs per application and
depends on the purpose.
The product holds the necessary water, the excess water
disappears into the underlying soil. The moisture content in the
carrier is therefore manageable.
Depending on the end-use or solution, we can shred our product
into flakes. These flakes can be mixed with every possible carrier,
for example: soil or sweat sand! Our BioGel 901®-flakes absorb,
store and conserve water for the roots to consume. If applied
correctly, no water goes to waist. Because the flakes are covered
by, for example, lawn, there is even less evaporation off
water.

How to use
Our BioGel 901® flakes are exceptionally easy to use. The flakes
will be delivered in big bags or, on demand, as a fabric on a roll.
Just mix the flakes with the available soil/sweat sand, and apply a
5 to 7 centimeters thick layer of this substance to the
ground/sand.
The average ratio between the flakes and soil/sweat sand is 25%
to 75%, according to our experience. When this is done, either
grass can be seeded or a prefab lawn can be applied. After this you
can fill the mixed substance with water and the flakes will keep
the water to it's maximum capacity.
